LD22 December 16–19, 2011

I’m in

This is my first Ludum Dare.  I’ll be using:

Java

libgdx

paint.net

sfxr

We’re in!

This will be my second LD.  Last time I did the comp, this time I’m recruiting some friends and doing the jam.

Using Ren’Py or Javascript

Yay Ren’Py!

I’m in

Just registering my interest for my first Jam. I’ll be using Unity3D and making any sprites and such in Photoshop CS4/Fireworks CS4, with audio made preferably with Wolfram Tones and SFXR.

I’m in

First Ludum Dare and I’m new to designing games in general work may get in the way but I intend to finish something and submit no matter the quality and polish it in jam
my tools:
Unity
Gimp(maybe)
Paint if necessary(lol…seriously though I dont know gimp yet)
and the free-est best-est audio program I can find

Hi jdav1915,

In Again

I’ll be using PixieEngine (it’s finally getting good now) for everything except music, and probably Milky Tracker for music.

Proposed Schulze Voting

Yesterday in the midst of the theme discussion I proposed using a new voting method to collect and rank theme preferences, the Schulze Method.  Today, I wrote a WordPress plugin to implement my idea with input from others on IRC.  I’d appreciate everyone’s testing/input!  http://billknye.com/ld/?page_id=2

Without registering / logging in, everyone is sharing the same user state on the voting preferences, just an FYI if your votes get changed.

looks cool!

We’re In!

This is our first time here, and we’re going to be moving forward in the Jam with Flash AS3. We haven’t decided for audio yet.

We are in – First Ludum Dare.

We are a group of two programmers and a general designer based in the Netherlands and this will be our first Ludum dare. Neither of us have much experience with programming games though.

Tools:
C++ with SFML
MS-Paint
Occasionally Photoshop

Hi guys,

I’m in

This will be my first LD.

Will use Flixel/Flash if the theme is good in 2D, Unity if 3D.

Have fun!

i’m in

good day everybody,  just figured i’d kinda get in here and tell you that i will be joining in the coming LD, it will be my first ever, and it’s also probably going to complete an assignment for school for me, so that’s a win-win;)

stuff i’ll be using

java/c#(either one, not sure yet)

SFXR/MPT(for audio)

paint.net(pixel-art)

chronolapse(timelapse)

there might be others… but i’m not entirely sure yet

I’m in

I will use Unity or XNA.

I’m in!

This is our first (real) Ludum Dare!)

So far we only participated in Mini-LD #29 and #30!

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/minild-29/?action=preview&uid=6685 http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/minild-30/?action=preview&uid=6685

Here’s a list of stuff we’ll be using:

Programmer (me): Game Maker 8.1 (40$ well spent!), sfxr, Notepad++

Artist (Mati): Game Maker’s built-in sprite editor, Paint.NET / Gimp, Macromedia Flash 8

Musician (Siemka): Fruity Loops / Magix Music Maker / Pixel’s ORG Maker

Good luck everyone! 😀

Ok seriously guys

When voting for themes, do remember you are going to have to make a game based on the theme AND play upwards of 700 games based on the theme you choose.  Try to think a little before upvoting “Beards” or “Kittens”, if you can’t instantly think of at least 5 completely different games for a theme, it isn’t a good theme.  Also, downvote non themes, i.e ones dependent on implementation, we want to see a wide variety of games, not 700 black and white games, or 700 pixel-art games, etc.  Just remember that if a theme is in the top 100, it just might win, so try to be sensible please.

KATO 9 // LD 22 // I’M IN

Kato9 LD22

Here’s my video. This is what we were supposed to do right??

Kato9, winner of ‘3rd best graphics in an LD21 game’ and also winner of ‘454th most fun LD21 game’ returns for LD22.

Some people complained that my entry for LD21 was quote ‘not a game’. WELL FINE. This time I’ll make a ‘game’ game. Maybe.

I remember your game :) Excited to see what you do this time.

Me too!

After some issues signing up for an account (which I had to ask the admins to step in and take care of), I’m signed up and have started getting ready for LD22–which falls right after the end of finals week for me.

This is my first Ludum Dare, and I’m definitely looking forward to it!  One of my recent class projects was made in one weekend, so I know it’s definitely possible.

I’m still trying to figure out how to split my posting between here and my personal blog, and whether I’m going to do any sort of videolog or anything.  In terms of frameworks, I’ve got a few options I’m looking at…

-C++ with SDL is my mainstay which I’ve used for a majority of my stuff.  it’s interesting to note that I’ve used OpenGL for rendering instead of vanilla SDL, but I really can’t recall why since none of my games have any advanced graphics behavior…maybe I just wanted to be cool… xP

-C# with XNA is something I haven’t worked with quite as much.  I actually find it pretty fun to work with, but the major downside is that I lose cross-platform compatibility, plus I need to make an installer.

-C# with SDL.net is something I’m currently trying out right now.  It -might- be the best of both worlds (managed language plus cross-platform, etc), but I have to give it a test run and make sure everything is aok before I give it the green light.

For graphics I’m panning on using my minor levels of pixel-pushing powers with GIMP, for music I’m using my less-minor powers of electronic/chiptune production with FL Studio, and for sfx I’ll either use bfxr or more FL Studio stuff (probably a combination of both).

I’m thinking to use some starter code (in the case of say, C++/SDL/OpenGL, a bunch of sprite stuff, for example), which I’ll finalize sometime closer to compo.

Interestingly enough, LD isn’t my first “make x in y hours” experience, as I’m a regular participant of One Hour Compos over at ThaSauce, where participants are challenged to produce a song based on a theme in one hour.  The streamlining of my music process that’s taken place because of OHC will definitely come in handy for LD, methinks. ^^

Im In!

Hey there! I’m AlgidPlasma and I just signed up so I could participate in ld22

This will be my first ever so quality is not guaranteed :\ sorry lol.

I’ll either be using:

Lua with Love2d 0.7.2

or

Flash Develop 4 with Flashpunk

can’t wait to see the subject we’ll all be working on and I hope to participate in more LD events in the future.

I’m in

I’m in… will use anything available…

“1” should have 1 vote

I think it would be mighty appropriate if the theme “1” had 1 vote to it’s name.

Sir, I must tell you something. ‘1’ is hardly a theme at all. It should be pruned with the other non-themes so that we can have 100 good themes to ACTUALLY choose from.

Honestly, I agree, I wanted to see if I could fool the folks who decided to upvote “kittens” to downvote “1”.

Who’s in?

I’m in!

I managed to get the whole weekend off, and this LD starts two days after my last school project is due 😀

Code: I’m going to use this compo to teach myself some Unity, likely with C#.

Art: Don’t expect anything remotely good >_> I’m bad at 3D, but expect Blender unless I can come up with something better. 2D work in photoshop/illustrator or equivalents, depending on where I’m working from.

Sound: SFXR for effects, MadTracker likely if I make any music. Or if my roomate still has that mic I might record some stuff with my upright bass…

Food: At least one really healthy meal to kick things off with, followed by an equal measure of healthy food and junk food. Sweet potato chips count as healthy, right?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to balance this board game for class…

I’m in

I’m in again. Having learned nothing from crashing and burning last time, I’m going to (attempt) to learn a new environment and language as I go (Get Moai/Lua). (original choice of technologies abandoned as it’s too hard to embed in the browser) I’m using Javascript and the HTML5 Canvas, no external game libraries, (depending on the theme) only programmatically generated graphics, and only a limited knowledge of web technologies.

Expect some unplayable, cryptic piece of crap to follow.
