LD22 December 16–19, 2011

My new Game with Flash 11 (stage3D) is online.

After the bad news that adobe announced last week, i want to share with the community my new flash game called “Course 2 voiture radiocommandée” (french game) . I hope flash will stay alive for long time.

With all the library out there the game took only 2 day to code, I used Flare3D for 3D and QuickBox2D for phyics. I like flash if you too,  just send #FlashIsNotDead on twitter :)

The game is in beta (only 5 level) to test if my visitors don’t have problem with Flash11..
Herre some screens of the game:

Jeux de voiture 3D

Jeu de petite voiture

The game is in BETA (only five level, and one game mode you have to collect the coin in shortest time possible)
To test the game http://www.jeu-de-voiture.com/course+de+voiture+radiocommande.php

And Don’t forget FLASH is Not DEAD

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english .. I’m french

I’m considering making one too as my opengl skills have improved quite a lot recently. :)

You could(and should) make the engine before hand and then you just adapt it to the theme…

I’m new ;)

Hey guys, i registered 2 min ago. Hope it will be funny. Code with AutoIt 😉 greez

How Do You Like The Menu’s?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to know YOUR opinion on my new game I am creating. I am felling that the menu’s for the game don’t feel “alive”, they fell a bit depressing in a way… I put a couple of screenshots below showing the menu’s. Thanks for your opinion! :)

Here is the Main Menu:

Here is the Mission Selection Menu (I still need to adjust the numbers):

Thanks for your help!

From the help that ludumdare.com has given me, I have edited the menu’s to look like this (I will still edit it more though):

They just feel bland. The background is much too simple for a game, and the main menu buttons themselves are just text labels. Try adding some artwork as background, or even consider coding an interactive/ dynamic background for the menus (maybe a demo of the first level or something).

Tell us what the game is about, and the mood you want it to have.

Looking better! 😀 I can’t see it in action (yet :P) but it looks like it still needs a bit of motion. Maybe make the background a simple, slow-scrolling pattern. That could look stylish. 😀

[LD22] Screen Casting on Linux

Hi!

I most probably will be taking part in Ludum Dare 22. I wanted to make a screencast this time. However I can’t find some decent software that will take timed screenshots. Does anyone have a suggestion (for Linux of course) ?

Thanks :)

If you want to do a screencast of your game running you could use XvidCap which works quite well. However, if what you want is to record your desktop and make a timelapse video en Linux, you could use gLapse [1], a a tool I developed a while ago. Some darers have been using it and they say it works well.

Battleplan 1.0 released!

After months of “really hard” development we are proud to release first stable version of Battleplan!

We also would like to give huge thank to Ludum Dare, because it gave us a lot of experience, which was extremely important for us to finish this game!

Battleplan is based on a traditional paper-and-pencil game known as Battleships. We have started developing it since April 9, 2011, as our first big project.
Gameplay is quite simple, you have four ships – two cruisers and two aircraft carriers, which you have to put on a field. Of course you must obey some rules, while placing them. Then you can try your luck against the computer.

#gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ battle menu placing_ships

LD #22: I’m In!

I’m going to try my hand at this.  It will be my first LD entry.  I expect I might fail 😛  Already requested the 16th off from work 😀

I program in C++, and I think I’m going to stick with using my old standby of Allegro.  As far as I can tell that’s allowed?

Yes, Allegro is fine. 99% of libraries and engines are fine. The other 1% are generally big proprietary things.

pygamezine launch

PyGameZine has been launched. For more details see the http://www.pygame.org/ website.

It’s that time of year again!

For my tools, it’s gonna be this:

  • Game Maker 8
  • Photoshop/Illustrator CS5
  • Chronolapse
  • SFXR
  • (Hopefully not but probably) Wolfram Tones

I’m going to spend the next 25 days procrastinating and listening to Daft Punk. Let’s do this!

Ludum Dare 22 – You can Count on Me

I’m in for LD22. Absolutely.

I’ve been experimenting with JavaScript, which will likely be my tool of choice. I will need to find a place for hosting JavaScript apps, though… :/

That being said, I’m in. Absolutely.

You can always host it on Dropbox if needed

I AM IN

Hello everyone,

first post here on ludumdare, I’ve been tinkering away on my own on a few game projects over the past few years, so I thought I might as well join LD this year.

I’ll be using Pygame, Tiled, Photoshop and Pxtone,

Should be fun!

First LD- I’m in

This will be my first LD (and first post), so things may be a little bumpy. I do think, however, that I can do it.

For this competition, I will be using Stencyl (Flash) as the game engine, sfxr/bfxr for the sounds, and Paint.NET for the graphics.

Lol, it’ll hopefully be my first LD too, using the exact same tools xD

I’m In!

I’m down for some Ludum dare fun times.  This will be my first attempt and hopefully my first success.  I will be using java and be voting for evolution.  I think it is time.

I AM IN!

Hi!

This is my first post on Ludum Dare but I’ve already made an entry for the miniLD #30…

So, I’ve just a question, can I use the Citrus Engine for my next game(LD #22)? Thanks!

PS: sorry for my bad english, it isn’t my motherlanguage.

See rules for LD:

Into Beyond – Change log 7

I made some improvements on the appearance of Into Beyond, let me know what you think :)

Yes, I’m in!

Since the last Ludum Dare I made my descition. I trained my skills in Java Applets and made some small games.

Nothing special. Just pixelgames. But it was fun.
Now I will try to do something on my own. Just for fun.

See you coding!

I’m In

Maybe this time we can break 600 games (although that might not be a good thing).

My goal this time is to make a game that DOESN’T crash randomly because that’s not a good thing. That’s in addition to, you know, everything else, but this whole technical thing gets in the way of that whole fun thing.

EDIT: I wonder if I could make a programming game. I mean, this seems like a rather apt community for such a game…

I’m IN!

Alright, my first LD will be #22. Using Java and Slick. LET’S DO THIS!

Good luck!

GACK is finally on sale and made 1$

Howdy.
I miserably failed the October challenge 2011. Mainly because I wanted to polish the release version a bit and add some website and example games.
But! I finally made it. You can get the GACK (Gaming App Construction Kit) now for your touchpad (HP, WebOS) or any Android Tablet that has a 1024×768 screen at least.
http://gack.glbasic.com

I sold already 10 pieces. Here’s a link to promo codes for the Touchpad:
