Falling Friends

Tomorrow we’re releasing a small and weird game jammed in one day! Tomorrow we will release a weird trailer and do some more weird stuff.

We could really use some help to do some pre-marketing: http://www.sybogames.com/FallingFriends/friends.html

More stuff tomorrow! I promise weird and fun stuff.

I’m in!

I’ll be using Unity3D, Blender, Garage Band, someFXRofSomeSort, Photoshop, perhaps with the helping hand from EZGui if I get any chance to polish it.

I’ll be recording the session using ScreenNinja.

I’m in!

For the third time running, I’m IN! Whooo!

For the last 2 LDs, I’ve been using AS3 with FlashPunk (which is an amazing engine). However, I’d like to branch out and widen my AS3 knowledge. I’d really like to use just AS3 without anything else, but I may go with Flixel or something else. Your thoughts?

I’m in!

Hello everyone,

I’m in for Ludum Dare #22 and I think I will use

  • Coffeescript and three.js
  • Gimp
  • sfxr
  • Milkytracker
I hope this time I do better than last time with Dragons Bloodmoney :)

I’m In!

I’m in for Ludum Dare 22 and I’ll be using BYOND Dream Maker for it. (it uses a language similar to C++)

(If I am missing something that needs to be done besides this post to be allowed to do the competition, someone please let me know.)

No, you just need an account to submit your game when you’re done.

This post isn’t even required. 😛

But it’s a nice thing to do.

I’m in for LD22

I’m thinking of mixing things up a bit and working with flixel this time around.  If I decide to go with Unity again I’ll probably stick with the jam so I don’t have to worry about third party libraries.  Anyways, the options:

Hardware: Macbook Pro, Wacom Tablet

Game Engine, Languages, & Tools:  (Unity 3D Pro 3.4, C#, MonoDevelop IDE) or (flixel, Flash Builder 4.5)

Graphics & Art: Corel Painter 10, Photoshop CS5, Blender 2.6

Music & Audio: sfxr, GarageBand

See you all in two weeks!

1 minute game theme

I saw this for suggested themes and this looks like an amazing idea, anybody else in for this? I’d expeect some games in the style of Keyboard Drumset ****ing Werewolf.

Not sure I follow you. what exactly do you mean? Pick your own theme in one minute?

A game you could finish in a minute? Sounds way too limiting to me

Do you mean a game that is played in a minute? That might be interesting. It would be like a longer Wario Ware minigame.

99 problems and HTML5 is one

Hello fellow Ludum Darers,

I’ve been meaning to develop a game in HTML5, and my complete lack of understanding on the subject cripples me.

Are there any good opensource/free IDE’s out there?

Are there any good frameworks besides Impact?

How do you deal with sound? I’ve tried some games like Panda Poet, and the sound works perfectly, others not so much, what gives?

I’m aware of Construct 2, but am I gonna be able to go deeper in the code if I want to?

Are there any tutorials dealing with a HTML5 workflow?

Any tips, suggestions or advice?

Kung Fu Pygaaame!

Although I missed previous LDs, I am back for this one! Yes, even after my failure of a game Space Genocide. This time I’ll drink more coffee then usual by hiding it in the shelves from my parents and stay up much later than usual.

As for tools I’m using, as always python and pygame for gameplay, GIMP for sprites, and sfxr for sounds.

My weakest fault is probably the graphics part, I’m terrible at it. I guess I’m going to have to spend hours on it, otherwise it just looks like… well… shit. Aww well, for supreme success, I will practice practice practice! :)

New guy here

Hello. I’ve learned actionscript 2, but since this is out of date and i can’t see any reason to use it, i’ve decided to switch to python. arethere any free code compilers that i can use and where to download them. =)

I’m in!

I’m in for Ludum Dare 22, and I will be using Java with GIMP and sfxr.

This is my first Ludum Dare, and I’m slightly scared, but I’m sure it’ll go well. I’ve haven’t completed a game so far, but I’m working on a bigger project which I hope to complete soon.

I would add a video but my camera sucks and I hate my voice. 😀

Packaging up for the gift exchange

So over at my blog I wrote up a blog post again about the packaging up of my gift for the Ludum Dare christmas gift exchange 2011.

Check it out here.

And I hope more people are posting up about the gift exchange. It is a lot of fun.

I’m in

After 1 success (LD#20) and 1 failure (LD#21) I really hope that when LD#22 finishes I will be left with something that at least makes me a little bit proud (for example: it works 😉 ).

I will be using:

  • Haxe & NME
  • My hands
  • My head
  • A computer maybe?
Good luck to us all 😉

I’m (probably) in

Hi!

I’m in (for now). I may Jam instead, as I have a train journey on that weekend, the start of which will mean I’ll have 9 hours to go on the compo section.

Pending Wi-Fi and power access hitches on the train could also stop me from completing the game.

I’m gonna be running things in Java Graphics2D, as that’s what I know best. Irrespective on if I’m jamming or not, full source will be available for people to (attempt to) compile and build on my github (which I’ll post up about when I’m ready. I may want testers :P).

Regards,

CDomville

I’m in

Hi,

It will be my second LD. I will be using C++/SFML 2, Gimp, SFML and my personal library. I hope to do something different than a 2d platformer this year.

I am in for LD22.

C++ in LD is a tough thing… good luck to you! Hope it works out!

I should be in too~!

Well, I’ll have to find out if I’m actually at home that weekend, but if so I will join in! I’m not going to do a video on account of lack of WebCam (In addition, I don’t think you’re going to like my cut-and-paste AMV things… find Gemberkoekje on YouTube if you’re into that)

Anyway, I’ll use CinderLib, probably some PhotoShop – it’ll be my first entry, and it’s quite likely I’ll fail in many ways – but hey, if you don’t try you don’t succeed!

Well, see you there, good luck to all, and have me play some awesome games in the christmas weeks!

I’ve never heard of CinderLib… Care to give a link?

Something Ambitious for LD22…

I’ve recently been playing with Processing and will probably use it for LD22.

I have an ambitious plan, you see…

I’m going to try to make microgames. My initial goal is 4-5, but if that doesn’t take too long, I’ll keep making them.

I’m going to enter the jam to give myself more time, as I’m not sure how long it will take me to make these.

The microgames themselves will be similar to those in the WarioWare series or the Five Second Frenzy/Fury/Firestorm trilogy. Each will have a short duration and a single, stated objective. I’m hoping it goes well.

Peace, love, and a single, stated objective,

– Henry

I’m In!

Hi,

This will be my first Ludum Dare, I’ve wanted to do it for a while but never previously had the time. I’ll be using HTML5 and the following libs/tools.

Can’t wait to see what the theme for LD22 is going to be and I hope I can finish in time.

LD22 Warm-up

So I’m in for real this time. Going to do a team entry with a buddy of mine doing art stuff, so I’ll be doing the Jam this time.

(Click the screenshot for a video, I couldn’t figure out how to embed it directly)

We decided to do a little warm-up today. I’m thinking about using cocos2d and I wanted to try it out before the contest. This is the result, far from complete but not too shabby considering we started at 2pm, a mere 11 hours ago.

Looking forward to the jam!
