LD23 April 20–23, 2012

I’m in

I’m still deciding which tools i’ll use for ludum dare, though.

In Am I

This is my first compo, so I hope it goes smoothly.  My goals are simply to learn and to finish.

Platform: Flash
Engine: Flashpunk
Graphics: Possibly Photoshop CS5, looking into some of the free pixe art/tile generators.
Sound: sfxr , SunVox
Editor: FlashDevelop, Sublime
Fuel: Various techno/dubstep, Numb3rs/Malcom in Middle episodes, and lots of sparkling water.

Will be livestreaming some during the compo:

Really looking forward to creating along with all of you.

Base libs for bsp fun

I’m in for my third compo!  Had a great time with 21 and 22, though the 22 theme was a stumper.

I’m using the same libs from 22 (quake style bsp collision), but with tons of bugfixes, and I’m including my collada based skinned character stuff in case I get time for that (probably not).

Planning on using quake army knife for levels, paint.net for gui and texturing, max for characters / objects, sfxr and audacity for sound.  Oh and visual studio / xna for code.

Hoping people are more open to exes this time!  I really wanted to go web, but I’ve had a really painful experience with Java, and google native client is a bit too new.

Base Code

Also, I’ve been polishing up my LD21 game for release on XBOX Indies!  Hoping for a Juneish release.

We’re in!

We’re a small wannabe indie game developers group and we’re in for the jam!

We’ll be using HTML5 and Coffeescript/Javascript, which is totally different than the technology we use for our ‘for real’ game, but probably a lot more fun too :)

The team consists of three programmers, pruik, grandmaster and d-snp (that’s me). The goal is to produce an awesome game whilst improving our team spirit! Since we don’t have any artists, we’ll probably either go for procedural art or crappy art.. or both!

Must make game!

Back in 2009 I made a silly platformer for LD14. This will be my second LD.  Hopefully we can all agree on an interesting theme!

I’ll be using:

Code: Monkey along with either Diddy or Ignition

Editor: Sublime Text 2 / Jungle IDE

Art: Photoshop, Graphics Gale, PaintTool SAI

Music: ???

Sound: ???

My main targets will be Flash, HTML5, and Android, but will hopefully make builds for iOS, Win/Mac/Linux, WP7, and more if the game is good. I’ll be posting builds early and often here.

Please someone remind us all to make sure we support German and French keyboards. I know I’ll forget to if keyboard controls are necessary…

Edit: Released base code I’ll be using here!

I’ve got some one lined up already, sorry.

I’m In!

Again!

This time I’m going to do a couple things better:

I’m going to follow the theme (well, this time I’ll know what it is at least).
I’m going to team up with buddies who have promised the most eye-ball-igniting art.
I’m going to do the jam… so a whole extra day to party jam style.
I’m going to include more capybara’s in the game.

Good luck to everyone! Hope it is the best!

I’m in. SHIP IT!

This time around I’m going to make things interesting for myself.

I’m building a game from zero to AppStore submission in the 48 hours. For judging there will of course be Windows and Android builds.

I usually roll my own code, but for this I decided to try out a pretty well known framework and try to leverage what I can.

Tools

  • C/C++
  • XCode 4.2 / 4.3
  • Visual C++ 2008 Express
  • Photoshop (gfx)
  • SFXR (sfx)
  • Wolfram Tones + GXSCC (music)
  • Cocos2dx (graphics/input/etc)
  • CocosDenshion (audio)
  • Box2d (if I am feeling physicsy)
  • Phillips Beer (http://phillipsbeer.com/)

Tokyo Reporting In

Not done the last few Ludum Dares and not finished one in a while but that changes now. I’m on holiday in Tokyo and me and a friend are going to make a game together. So obviously we’re just aiming for the jam but that suits me anyways.

I’ll be doing the dev work using:
– Unity
– Google SketchUp
– Adobe Photoshop

My partner in crime will be doing artwork using:
– Corel Painter
– Adobe Photoshop

We’ve already got our (quite messy) workspace setup:

I’m in !

This is my second compo (after the mini-LD : Quality vs Quantity).

I will use MultimediaFusion 2, Photoshop, audacity & maybe i will try some pixelarts’ software…

I’m in… for real this time!

Atleast depending on the theme. I was disappointed by it, however the theme ideas seem to be interesting. I’ll give it a shot atleast.

The tools I will use are as follows:

  • (which also means I’m using Java)
  • I’ll use the Eclipse IDE
  • The most important tool: Distraction

Good luck to all!

I’m In! Again!

Right. This is my second Ludum Dare I will participating in, and I think I will be ready this time. Last time I did this, I was ill-prepared, didn’t know what I was doing, and made a pretty crappy game with no time to make many sounds, or do a proper ending like I wanted to. It was a simple game, too, but I didn’t realize how time consuming it was. My note to all new-comers: Make a game where you can get the best time spent per gameplay/fun level ratio. Really. It’s important that you make your game fun.

Anyway… Wanted to do this one in Java and Eclipse, but I think I still have a ways to go (maybe next LD) before I can make anything decent in Java. So, you want to know what I’ll be using, right?

Language: GML

IDE: GameMaker 8 Pro

Sound: Audacity

Graphics: GIMP

Just remember, it’s important to have fun. That’s the point of all this, right? Good luck!

I’m in

This is my second game for Ludum Dare. I’m entering the Jam with a couple of my friends.

Engine: Lew-jiggle with Slick2D

Art: Gimp

Sound: Some combination of bxfr / audacity / audition

Edit: I made a small template for a state based game here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/74572404/Ludum%20Dare%2023/Java%20Workspace.zip

in I’m!

I’m in everybody! This’ll be my 2nd Ludum Dare, and I hope I do better than last time! I tried learning Java, but i’m not done, so I’m using gamemaker.

Engine: Gamemaker 8.1

Art: Paint.net

Sound: bfxr.net

Merry Ludum Dare to all, and to all a good game!

We’re In!

Normally I enter into the compo alone, but this time around I’ll be entering into the jam with a three other guys! I’ve had the honor of working with these guys in the past, so I doubt we’ll have any problems working together. We’re all looking forward to losing sleep and making a great game. ;]

Travis Lucia (travislucia) – Artwork Thomas Jackson (Shykoo) – Artwork Chris Sinnott (JitterBones) – Audio

Alex Larioza (alexlarioza) – Programming

In there like… something

I’m in! Definitely have to participate in the 10 year anniversary, although I probably would’ve entered anyway. Top themes are looking promising so far!

Tools

  • FlashDevelop
  • Flashpunk
  • GIMP
  • GraphicsGale
  • sfxr
  • Reason
  • Ogmo Editor

I’m in

Hopefully.

This time around I’ve only got my laptop to work with so it’ll be tricky to say the least. Something will prolly get done.

I’m in! Looking Forword to it

Hey people this will be my first time entering this competition so hoping for the best. I am an experienced programmer and this year i will have to work on my laptop. If anyone interested to pair up let me know.

Just in case you don’t know because this is your first competition, you’re supposed to release your game engine beforehand. Don’t get disqualified!
