#LD48 Twitter Stream

I’m participating in the Jam this year with my fellow TGPers, but I thought I’d share a neat little stream of Tweets that contain #LD48. Use to keep track of everyone participating in real-time: http://massrelevance.com/altonchaney/ludum-dare.html

GL;HF! See you all on the dev battlefield.

In

10th anniversary? Of course I’m in! And this will be my… 5th entry into the main compo.

I’ve umm-ed and arr-ed about my choice of framework for a while. But being the anniversary and everything, I’m going to take it back to where I started with Flixel and make something awesome in an environment I’m comfortable in. Yeah!

So in summary:

  • Code: Flixel, FlashDevelop
  • Art: GIMP
  • Audio: FL Studio (and maybe bfxr)

Tags: flash, Flixel

Change of Plans

I was going to enter using good ol’ java with its build in Graphics2D library with eclipse as an editor but now I’m going to enter using c# with xna and visual studio as an editor. I’m fairly new to c# and xna so let’s hope I’ll be able to at least finish my game.

Daring Ludumite seeks victory

I’m going to try my bestest to finish an entry for this very special Ludum Dare! I’ve tried and slunk away in a furious rage before where I’ve failed miserably.

I’ve read up on the Game Jame survival guide and I’m feeling pretty pumped this time!

Planning to use Unity with the Playmaker and EX2D extensions. Photoshop CS4 with Audacity and the free SFX program that people love to use for Jams, SFXR I think.

If the extensions are frowned upon, I’ll just plop it in as a Jam game, not a problem. It’s just I don’t believe I’ll be able to publish the sources to Playmaker and EX2d as I didn’t create them! 😛

Good luck all

Dan.

I’m In..

My first LD!

Code: C (my own and small Win GDI “framework“)

Music : MisfiTracker (my own Win “tracker” for my engine)

Graphics: aseprite, Photoshop

I’m in for the first time!

Hi, I’ve been following LD during the last year and  I’d always thought: wow, one day I’ll join, this is so amazing! I’d always liked games, but also create music and art, so game making is the perfect combination for me!:D  Since I started to get interested  about game programming I’ve tested a lot of engines and languages but finally I came up with java and I liked it a lot. I’ve been programming since the beginning of this year and I think I’m ready, let’s do this!

RECAP:

  • Language: Java
  • IDE: Eclipse
  • Library: Slick2D
  • Art: Paint.NET
  • Sounds: BFXR
  • Music: LSDJ or/and Ableton Live

Good luck everybody! And the most important thing: HAVE FUN!

Hey, im in!

I will create my game using the following tools:

*Eclipse (java) for code
*Paint.NET for graphics
*Sfxr and Audacity for sound
*Chronolapse for timelapse!

Looking forward to it, this is my first try at LD48!

I am in!

I will be using  Java with Libgdx and my own support library here.

For art I will be using Inkscape.

For sound I will be using Reaper for production and Audacity for editing.

I am going to stream the development process here. A Chronolapse of the whole thing will be posted too!

I’m In.. Or am I? Yes Im definitely in.

Hi all,

This is my “I’m in” post.

I’ve been learning haxe over the last few days, so i’m hoping to use haxepunk for the competition this time around. If I don’t get called into work over the weekend this time, I might actually get to submit something again ( :  I seriously cannot wait for the theme release its going to be so cool.

Anyway.

I’m using Haxe with Haxepunk.

I’m going to use the gimp and either inkscape or graphics gale for game art.

music/ambient sounds are going to be coming from the internet

SFXR for the cool sound effects also probably the internet.

The best of luck to everyone. Playing all the games is going to be great.

Thanks -NGangst

Does HaxePunk (or NME) have SVG support? Or you planning to export as a .bmp?

I’m in, and I WILL submit something this time!

Last time I failed badly, in part due to bad planning, in part due to trying to not sleep the entire time after already not sleeping for a day the night it started, but mainly because I only had 1 day to work on it due to various reasons :(

This time, I am going to submit something!

Planned tools:

Engine/Framework: Not entirely sure yet. I’m familiar with XNA/SFML/Unity, but I feel like trying something a bit different, so maybe Flixel?
Graphics: Photoshop/Paintshop Pro 7.  Been looking into some other programs like PyxelEdit too, but nothing felt as comfortable as PSP7 does yet!
SFX: BFXR
Music: Errr. Yeah, I have no idea! I’ll just wing it I guess!

So yeah, not sure about much yet, gonna poke around with different stuff in the next couple of days, can’t wait!

ni m’I I’m in

Programs and tools I will use on my Adventure:

Framework: Stencyl -> sounds noobish, but the drag&drop scripting helps me to concentrate on the main issues
Concept: good old paper (about 1/2 year)
Music: Autotracker – random music is awesome!
Sounds: as3sfxr – randomness again
Textures: GIMP and maybe RunningBrushes – my favorite part!
Other: chronolapse for the timelapse ; LibreOffice to fix my language mistakes

This is my first ‘big’ Ludum Dare I do enter. I already entered 3 game making contests before (2 Mini-LD’s) and won 2 of them (not both Mini-LD’s). I’m planning on creating a working plan this time to make it less chaotic.

I shall be in.

I am busy until about 5 hours into the competition, so I’ll just use that time to think about ideas anyway. I’m going to try to be done with a rough build at 1:00pm EST because I have somewhere to be at 2-4pm, then back to developing at 5pm, with 4 hours left to submit.

Language: AS3/Flash

Engine/Library: FlashSpark , my WIP AS3 engine. It’s very rough right now and in early stages. Sorry I don’t have any documentation, atm, haha.

IDE: FlashDevelop

Graphics: Gimp

Sounds: sfxr/bfxr/Audacity

First time

I am in.

Tools:

Concept: Pen, paper

Framework: cocos2d

Graphics: Gimp, Pixen

Sound: cfxr

Other: vim, git

Hey! Good luck!

It’s my first Ludum Dare. I will be do live stream, of course.

I will be using

Java2D Api and Eclipse IDE.

paint.net and Pickle for graphics.

Guitar Pro 5, Sunvox, FL Studio, Guitar Rig for music.

BFXR for FX.

Good luck to everybody!

Jumping in again

Ready for my second attempt at finishing something. Last time I cut it too close. Besides, I was using SpriteManager2 for Unity and wasn’t sure about how that would alter the rules. Since I couldn’t submit that source code. I’ll have to go “vanilla” on this one.

Using: Unity3D, Photoshop, Illustrator, Cheetah3D, Reaper, 1 Mac, 1 PC, 1 hyper tonkinese cat

Edit: Just in case, I decide to use SpriteManager2 here is the public link: http://www.anbsoft.com/middleware/sm2/
