Sort of cool Wallpaper I made! Maybe you’d like it, maybe not! (1920×1080)

Made this neat little wallpaper for myself, and thought I’d share it. I suck at photoshop, so sorry if the CRT effect is lame. I also have the scanlines only version below it. I really wanted to add a distorted curving effect, but, like I said, I’m a scrub with PS, so no idea how.

Please feel free to use them, and a humble thanks from me if you do. Resized them below, you can get the full resolution image here, and here for the scanline only. (imgur links)

Good luck to you all, see you in a week!

Taha

PS: If you have any particular requests to change a bit of the Wallpaper, just ask, and I’ll do my best!

Below is the Scanline only.

Add a little bit of bulge for distorting curving effect (I think thats what you mean).

Distort > Pinch (with negative values, for the bulge)

I’m in again, this time using Unreal!

This is the first time I use Unreal, I’ve just installed it and did this

Fire Punch Man – a warm up project using Unreal for the first time :)

Here we go again.

16th time entering (21st including mini LDs), 7th time submitting (hopefully!) and it’s time for some changes once again. As much as I disliked the trend of Flash dying, I guess I’ll get over it – might try to go for HTML / JS this time, if I get my libraries running for JS. So:

  • language and compiler: haxe
  • IDE: a terminal and TextMate
  • graphics: Photoshop, a Wacom cintiq tablet
  • audio: custom libraries?
  • fuel: pistachios, sushi

And a wallpaper teaser:

So, good luck everyone!

Working in LD-mode to make a mobile game

Hello! This August I participated in the Ludum Dare for the 1st time in my life. It helped me much to break the mental wall which I had a that time and start progressing again in game development after a still plateau.

2 weeks ago I decided to make my first proper mobile game in LD-mode. 48 hours was enough to build the gameplay and interface. During the following 2 weeks I run several tests on my my friends to find out how intuitive the interface was, made adjustments, worked with SDK integration, thought of more and more additions. The danger emerged that the new game could join the long list of my not-yet-released games which are waiting for one-more-adjustment.

I had to put an end to it and started one more LD for me. Yesterday I woke up at 4am with the intention not to go to sleep until I submit the game to the stores. And after 23 hours of staying awake I did it!

Please, check my EATERS game in Google Play.

Here’s how the gameplay look like:

EATERS gameplay

Your task is to open the mouths and close them when they have eaten the required quantity of food bits (shown at the top of the screen). The more you play, the more challenges you’ll encounter.

Please, share your opinion.

Looks fun! I’ll check that out.

We are in!

This is my fourth Ludum Dare,
but it is the first one I will truly work with a team.

This time a couple of friends join me coding, making art and composing music.
It’s going to be fun!

We’ll make a web game (HTML, JS, CSS and so on) using Pixi.js
depending on the theme with a more intelligent server running flask.

Our progress will be kept on https://github.com/tibyte/ludum34 (with more information)
and the working version will be post to http://ld34.rateld.de/ along with the documentation and timelapses!

We wish everyone a good Ludum Dare 34!

I’m In!

I’m jumping into Ludum Dare this month, starting up with doing something for the Warmup Weekend.

I’ve learned some things from my last entry; “RunEnder”, and now i’m feeling a whole lot more solid on what I can and can’t do in the time I have, so here’s to gamedev!

Cheers to everyone participating, and good luck!

My Blog, where i’ll post most LD updates:

www.librettodev.tumblr.com

I’m In!

This will be my third Ludum Dare.

I’ll be using the following:

Engine – LÖVE2D

Editor – Sublime Text

Graphics – GIMP

I’ll also be using my own small library of generic Lua stuff, which can be found here.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

Ready to rock this game jam! I’ve got a few members already for my team.
Ginger the fantastic art godess
Chris audio mix master and brother to yours truly
Me, designer and programmer throwing in my hat for my 4th LD

Together we are, THE THREE GAMBAYAROS!

Oh, but another thing. We are looking for more people! :3

Last game jam we made a team of 5 people and made a really nice game that had a good score: ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=57692 )

This Jam we are hoping to do something similar and we are looking for 2 new people:
We need a programmer, and another artist.

If you’re interested post below. If you’re an artist, please post some art ref, or just a link to a game jam game that you did the art for.
In this next Jam, I will be doing the leading and general design, but that doesn’t mean I’m not open to suggestions. It seems that I have done 3 game jams before and every time I end up being more and more of a leader position, so this jam I’m going to try to actually take on that role.

Anyways, if you’re interested in join our team post below :3 There’s no commitment so don’t be afraid.

I’m in, for the 8th time. Music?

Of course I’m in. Like usual, I will be doing the Compo. This will be my 8th time participating in Ludum Dare!

Programming: Javascript and HTML5

Art: MS Paint (Yeah, seriously)

Sound Effects: sfxr

Music: FL Studio

Here are a couple of my best tracks made with FL Studio. Please tell what you think.

To hear more, click here.

Anyway, Good Luck Ludum Darers!

I’m In

Let’s do this. I’ll be using:

  • JavaScript/Canvas Renderer
  • JavaScript/CSS Renderer
  • CanvasQuery/Phaser/Custom Engine
  • FL Studio/Bfxr
  • Photoshop/Note Paper
  • Most likely reuse some utility functions to get started

This will be my friend and I’s second Ludum Dare and we’re still hyped to participate!

Our Team:

  • John “DjKira” – I will be doing all of the programming, general development, research, and art during the duration of this jam.
  • Drew “Darobs” – Drew will be helping me out during the designing process and will be creating all of the music

Tools of the Trade:

  • Engine – Unity3D
We’ll be using the Unity Engine during this jam due to us having the most experience in the engine.
  • Programming Language – C#
  • Graphics – Photoshop CC, Blender
  • Sound – Audacity
  • Music – FLStudio

Let’s do this!

i’m in….

We are in

And this time we will submit something too!

(Jam, 2 Person Team, Unity)

I’m in!

Well, I’m in. Going to be doing a project with a couple friends.

We’ll be using LÖVE to make it. This is my first LD in a while, I’m really excited for it!

My First Ludum Dare

This will be my first Ludum Dare:

IDE: Eclipse

Language: Java

Images: I have been experimenting with my own image painter and file format so I will probably use that. (Not sure if that’s the best choice)

Sound: Not sure. I’m not that good with sound so…

Oh boy.

im in

yup, I sure am

I am going to be using gamemaker and my game is going to be spectacular 😀

My first and hopefully not me last.

Hello there

I’m in for this Ludum Dare 34.
This will be my first Ludum Dare I do. I have been creating games for quite a few years now and learning new things every time I do (www.canvascode.co.uk). For me I now feel I have enough knowledge to part take in this event and see what everyone else comes up with :)

I am thinking about creating the game with Javascript and ye olde Canvas but depending on the theme I may go for Unity. We will see.

I wish everyone the best of luck and remember to enjoy yourselves :)
