In!

Hello I am in the LD34 Compo, which will be my (does quick count) sixth go.

I will be using my own custom WebGL game engine called Hexr. I’m an idiot for using this instead of learning Gamemaker but I’m used to the workflow now. The engine and editor have had a ton of work put in (many many bugs fixed, feature additions and performance improvements since the last Dare!) so it would be a shame not to use it.

  • JavaScript and GLSL will be typed into Sublime Text.
  • I’ll use Swanky Paint for any pixel art and Photoshop for everything else. (Update: I’m currently experimenting with PyxelEdit so might use that!)
  • For music and sound synthesis/recording I will be using Propellerhead Reason.
  • For audio effects, editing and transcoding I’ll be using Adobe Audition, Audacity and Melodyne.
  • I’ll be using Git as my version control, npm as a package manager and browserify as a build tool.
  • For motivation during the dark hours I will be listening to Danger Zone by K-Log on Spotify. On loop.

That’s it. My only goal for this Ludum Dare is to make something that’s actually fun.

I hope everyone has a great Ludum Dare!

I’m *Probably* In

This is my third time saying “I’m In” but I still have nothing to show for it. Here are my tools:

Engine: Unity3D/GameMaker: Studio (depending on the theme)

Graphics: ASEPrite

SFX: Bfxr

Tic-Attack-Toe (minilLD #63)

Tic-Attack-Toe

Tic-Attack-Toe offers the fun of Tic-Tac-Toe AND the fun of a turn-based strategy game. So, it is about as fun as a turn-based strategy game.

Tic-Attack-Toe is a mix of Tic-Tac-Toe and a turn-based strategy shooter.  You command the O’s, and can capture flags and shoot down enemies.  You can play with your friends, or, if you have no friends (or don’t like having your friends come over and take turns using the mouse to play) there is some AI that works just as well!*

*AI may not work as well depending on your friend’s IQ

Play it Here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/minild-63/?action=preview&uid=57518

I’m in

Languages: JS, some GLSL
Libraries: THREE.js
Graphics: maybe sculpt gl. Still figuring out a simple modeling software.
Sounds: Audacity and my electronic keyboard

LD34 Space Wallpaper!

Currently only in 16:9, but I will make other ratios if requested!

Is there an official 1920×1080 version? I can rescale it myself, of course, but I figure the originator might have a better idea of which filters to use and such…

Bronto – post mortem

My MiniLD 63 post mortem … finally … after 66 million years.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-12-01 um 01.18.07

BRONTO – a dinosaur themed runner with roleplaying elements.

That was a fun Mini Ludum Dare. I just can present a short sketch of what this game could be, now. But it feels like I continue working on it.

What was good:

  • Drawing Dinosaurs was real fun and i could do stuff for LD and play with my 4 year old son at the same time which is great.
  • Jamming just 1-3 hours every day is a good mode, to combine game jamming with real life duties. It also give you time to turn thing in your head while you are afk.
  • I like my idea, which is still gr
  • owing, i have a story in my head to roll out and lots of features im looking forward to implement.
  • Felt like the first LDJam with kind of a tool chain using PyxelEdit and Tiled.
It seems that i could win an old friend as a collaborator for the music part in Bronto for a post jam version(currently you are hearing silence and autotracker placholders.)

Bildschirmfoto 2015-12-01 um 12.19.15

What was not so good:

  • I couldn’t finish the game during the jam, so i’m sorry not be able to present, what i intended now.
  • Just a small example level with little features
  • I’m short of sleep even in a relaxed 10 day combo

Rules Review:

  • “Make a game that’s a fusion of two other games, game genres or game ideas”
i think so, although it came to my mind, that I’m not a real rgp expert except pen an paper rpgs 😉
  • “Do it during the 20th – 30th of November”
    Check
  • “Spend 48 hours or 72 hours or however long you want”
Check. But i worked with a timetracker, an worked in 1-3h chunks.
  • “Start whenever’s convenient”
    Check
  • “Work alone or in a team”
    Check
  • “Use any assets/tools you want”
    Check
  • “Tag your games with #MiniLD63 (and also #LDJAM)”
Check. Made a bit noise on twitter.
  • “Disregard any/all of the rules if you want”
I thought i would break more of the rules.

Hope you enjoy what you see.

LD34, i’m in!

Hello again, The Brilliant Ludum Dare community! 😉 Glad to have the chance to participate in this time. It will be my third time, nice!

So, the my tools is usually: c#, unity, FLstudio, paint.net, audiacity and some text/audio generators. Maybe i will use some my servers for statistics again. In last time it’s was awesome idea and was very useful :)

Good luck to all, lets create a brilliant games! Dont forget about GGJ16 in the start of the next year!

I’m in!

I’m in for LD34!  Looking forward to doing my second Ludum Dare.  This last weekend I spent some time updating and reworking the javascript engine I created for my previous entry, and I think it is looking even better for next weekend.  I have a few more things I need to do, but I should have plenty of time.

Can’t wait for LD34!

I am in – again

As a habit, I will with you for the next Ludum Dare session. I hope that the theme will be more enjoyable because the last time I disliked it – but this is the game. If you have 5 minutes, please visit my Itch.io personnal page where I share my previous LD projects and more games for free. Personnaly I use Unity 5 (I develop only in C#), Gimp, SFXR/BFXR and SoundTrap for the background music. I wish you the best for the next LD. See you later friends ++

Geckoo is on Itch.io

Ludum Dare 34 – I’m In

I’m ready for another round of Ludum Dare. I’ll also be streaming again for this, so that’s going to be fun.

Sound: Bfxr

Music: PixiTracker? (maybe something else)

Sprites: Paint.NET

Editor: Sublime Text 3

Framework: Löve

I’m provisionally in

I didn’t think I would have time this December to spare a whole weekend but at the moment I can afford to do my second jam.

I’ll be using the same tools as last time (Unity 5, photoshop, audacity) and hope to make a better game this time.

Fingers crossed the theme isn’t sucky.

I’m in!

I will definitely join in this LD!

Language: HTML5JS/Phaser

Tools: Paint.net, Spriter, Bfxr , Sublime Text 2, Famitracker,My hand

Later!

I’m In

After being a spectator in the past few LDs, I finally have enough confidence to give it a try! I hope to get something out by the end.

My tools of choice: Unity, Paint.net, sfxr, Audacity

I’m in for LD34 but maybe with react?

I’m in… usually I use Unity/C# but I’ve been thinking it would be interesting to try making a web based game using react.js (depending on the theme of course!)

If I go down this path I will be using a react template – https://github.com/will-hart/ludum_react_boilerplate. I’ve also been working on a simple commodity market library which I may use, again depending on theme https://github.com/will-hart/commodity
