That’s similar to my tools used.

Game engine strawpool for Ludum dare.

Help us decide!

I’m in! Again!

Hello, everyone.

Yes, I will take part of it again because I can! Yay! Well, I didn’t make or improve any game since August. But anyway, here I am. This time with a new PC!!

As always, my weapons of choice are:

  • Engine: Game Maker Studio
  • Graphics: GraphicsGale
  • Music/audio: Sunvox, BFXR, Audacity
  • Paper and pencil.

Have fun!

Stuck in a tight spot, will join nevertheless!

Violin exams are right after Ludum Dare (assuming I entered Compo), got to practise between coding and thinking sessions. Probably my last LD before bigshot exams, so got to make the most of it!

Have been using PJS for the past few LDs for convenience but this time I will try out Processing if needed.

you could record while you practice and use it in the game!

I have music exams the same time, hopefully I can get good practice in. Good luck!

I’m in ! (hopefully)

The results for my first LD was better than expected so I’ll sure be in for LD34 ! (if I haven’t too much work)

I’ll probably use GM Studio but I’d like to try Phaser some day so who knows ?
PyxelEdit and/or PS for graphics
FL Studio / bfxr.net for musics and sfx

I hope I’ll come out with a good game you’ll all love !

Cheers from France <3

I’m sooo in!

And when I say I’m sooo in, I mean that I’m sooooooo in! Tools and everything will depend on the theme and what I decide to do with it.

I will stream at Twitch :-)

I’m in!

Hey I’m livingHamburger and I am in for LD34! This is my first jam and I’m not yet sure if I want to shoot for a compo entry. Depending on the theme and what ideas I come up with I will either make a 2D game in Lua using LOVE2D or a 3D game using Unity.

Software:

  • Visual Studio 2015 / Visual Studio Code
  • paint.net / mtPaint
  • Blender

Twitter: @livingHamburger

I attend school at George Mason University so if you’re meeting there for the Jam I will be there!

I’m in! (For real this time!)

I’ve been meaning to participate in this for years and every time there’s a reason or excuse not to. Well this time I’m in regardless! Even if the game I make is aweful I will at least have something to show for this! 😀 I’ll be using Unity and C# because that’s what I’m most familiar with.

Good luck to everyone on this jam! I look forward to playing the finished products!

I’m in!!! (for the first time ever)

This will be my first LD ever and I’ll do the Compo! I’m very excited to join Ludum Dare and it will be very funny and challenging for sure 😀

My tools will be:

  • Godot Engine
  • GIMP/Illustrator
  • bfxr/Audacity/Garage Band

Hope everyone have a great LD!

Cheers!

I’m in!

This is going to be my third Ludum Dare!

Good Luck! This is my second!

We’re In!

Two friends and I are going to team up for Ludum Dare 34 jam. The tools we’re planning to use:

  • Pygame library for Python
  • Paint.net
  • Bfxr
  • Tiled
  • Some music software, maybe Bosca Ceoil
  • Our amazing awesomeness

Looking foward to see all of your creations!

I am in

I hereby declare that I, pi_pi3, am in for LD 34. I’ll be using my own engine, a.k.a. Apocalypse Engine, written in Java, based on OpenGL 3.3. It’s still wip, but it’s usable for 2D projects. As for my tools:

You can follow my progress right here: @pi_pi314
You can also check out my previous projects here and here

I’m out

This time I’ve got 2 jobs and some classes to finish up on the 11th. I would LOVE to attend again, but it looks like I’m just super busy this holiday season. I’m actually pretty exhausted. Also, since one of my jobs is working on a small game it would kind of be weird to put off that job to work on a game jam for a few days. Hopefully I’ll be free to join the next LD. LD #35. Anyways, enjoy you’re LD yall! I’ll be around to play and rate still. Have fun! :3

Profile Issues and Game Links

Hi all.  I appear to be having issues with my profile.  When people attempt to click on it, it says I’m “Not Found” as a user.  I’m hoping that adding this post will prompt some kind of “refresh” procedure and fix it but I don’t know, it’s just a guess.  If it doesn’t, see below for links to the games I’ve submitted so far.  At the very least, it should make it easier for people to see my submitted games.
[Edit]It appears to have worked! My profile page has come back![/Edit]

Ludum Dare 26
I entered this back in 2013 with PaperFlick – a ball of paper flicking game done as a text adventure, based loosely on those Paper Toss games for mobile.  LD26

Mini Ludum Dare 63
I entered this about a week ago with a text adventure version of Snake.  I’m not actually intending for all my games to be text adventure versions of mobile games, that’s just how it’s turned out so far.  MiniLD63

Fusion: Business Sim + Platformer

I often joked about how every game should be a platformer.

gameplay

Now, this MiniLD was about a fusion of (possibly completely different) genres, and I decided to throw in my crazy idea. Here’s the result.

The game still needs some polishing, but I think I got mostly what I wanted to do. Is it fun to play? I dunno, but it’s a hectic gameplay like most other games I made.

Download only game, good idea for Ludum Dare?

I have been thinking of making this LD game in C++ and SFML, instead of on Phaser.

The only problem is that SFML cannot be deployed into the web (I believe SDL can, but i prefer SFML), also, compiling to other platforms can be hard (I have a Linux machine, but it takes some time to set up the compiler, etc…), so what do you think?

Do you recommend making the game “offline” only?

Cheers!

I don’t think it matters too much. The rating system is designed to find the games with the least number of ratings and encourage people to rate those. Everyone needs to rate at least 20 games to qualify for a rating themselves. So in the end, most people sit down and seriously rate a bunch of games, meaning that they’re not discouraged by having to download and install something.

I think there is no problem with offline version only.

Thank you :)

Personally, If I come across offline only games, I always try and play them in a VM (you know, just in-case), and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Hey,

I’m in

This time, I will actually be able to enter without any interruptions.

I will probably use HTML5+JS, Paint.NET and sfxr, but I will decide when I see the theme.

My game on MiniLD #63

Hello guys!

I have done my game for Mini LD and I submit it to.

If you want to play my game just click here.

When you play this game you play 15 mini-games.
Each of levels is unique. First, you are playing the game in the genre Runner and then you will drive the car.
Runner+Flappy Bird+Shooter+other 12 games.

I’m in! (I hope!)

For the first time, I’ll be joining you in LD34!

I have yet to decide what engine I’ll be using but it will probably be Unity5

See you then!

The I’m in thing is to prove you aren’t a bot or something along those lines… also they are a pretty cool way to introduce yourself before the event.
