LD34 December 11–14, 2015

announce thingage

Somehow I will manage to take the time to do this over the weekend, despite the “work” workload.

As a team !

In as a team this time, we got 3 devs and 1 illustrator (using traditionnal painting), and we’ll use as usual :

Programming : Haxe + openfl + custom LD Starter (https://bitbucket.org/Lythom/ldtemplate)

Graphics : Paint.NET + plugin “Alpha Mask” + plugin “Curves+” (and other plugins in pack)

Sounds : Anything I can find (still haven’t found a proper workflow for music and sounds) but mostly Audacity.

We plan a dungeon crawler and some procedural generation if the theme allow us to =)
Have fun everyone !

I’m in … and asking another question

My 4th ludum dare. (5th if i count that time i didn’t upload anything). So i’m in again and i’m hoping to do better than last time.

Game engine: Unity 5

Language: C#

Modeling: Blender

Textures: Gimp

So my question do you guys got any recommendations for a program to make sounds/music?

Fl Studio, it will take some time to learn how to use it and how to master the plug-ins, but its defiantly powerful. If you just need some sound sfxs, use bfxr or something.

Hey, just saw you entered LD.

First game on Greenlight!

Hi! I know everyone is talking about the upcoming compo, but I wanted to make a quick post about our shmup game BattleStorm that we (my brother and I) have just submitted to Steam Greenlight! We’ve been working on it since April, and we’re pretty excited/nervous right now, to say the least!

We’d absolutely love it if you’d go check out the game on Greenlight, and give us a positive vote if you like. :)

We’d massively appreciate your support, and let us know what you think!

Thanks a lot, and everyone have a great LD weekend!

I’m in and I’m bringing gifts!

I’m in! This time I’ll be working in Unreal Engine 4 and I’m bringing a very talented comic book artist with me for the jam.

I’m also bringing a little melody for anyone to use in their games. https://soundcloud.com/andreaswetter/death-and-darkness-loop

Time zone question ! (official Jam time zone)

Hi everybody!

I’m from Brazil (UTC-2:00 – summer time) and I’m a little bit confused with the jam time zone.

  • In the main page has a countdown that will finish at 12am, which probably is based on official event time zone (I’m not sure if it has adjusted automatically for my time zone) .
    • In the theme vote page (http://theme.ludumdare.com/) is saying 12:00 am (ESADT = UTC -5:00).

So, If the time zone is ESADT, the jam will start at 3:00 am (Brazilian Time). Is it correct ?

I don’t wanna to mess things up, just  be prepare!

Thank you!

j/k DEFINITELY in this time!

My stuff:

Graphics: Paint.net & Aseprite

Can’t wait for the awesome theme! Good luck all

I’m in finally!!

After many jams I just watched, it’s time for me to face the Ludum Dare!

I’ll use:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Programming Language: GML;
  • Engine: GameMaker:Studio;
  • Graphics: Photoshop;
  • Audio: Ableton Live;

Let’s go!!

i am doing this yes

yes.

in javascript probably mostly from scratch. maybe a library or two idk.

A platform build target question.

Hey LDers,

I have a question relating to what I should target x86 or x86_64.

I am using unity and am planning to release my game on the following platforms:

Web player, WebGL, Windows, Mac and Linux.

My question is whether it really makes a difference whether i build for 32 or 64 bit. From what I understand 32 bit can run on both versions but 64 only works on 64. Am I correct in this assumption for all my listed platforms?

I will only have like a gb of data available for the jam so I am trying to decide what builds will cover the most ground.

Also does anyone have a suggestion for a small program I can use to create audio for my game as that is area where I have very little experience.

Thanks for listening

LordSkaven/Lukas

Some 64 bit Linux systems do not have the 32 compatibility libraries installed, so if you make a Linux 32bits version, maybe the player will need to install them.

I’m in!
