LD34 December 11–14, 2015

I Think I’m In

It’s going to be a crazy weekend, and I’ve never deployed a solo project before (usually I’m just the artist+designer), but what better way to learn than by jumping into the deep end??

Succeed or not I’ll also be looking forward to everyone’s entries.

Cheers!

Getting ready to go..

.. while I skipped the last one, I want to make at least something small for ld #34

Progress so far: set up a minimal phaser (current stable 2.4.4. compared to 2.3.0 from last ld) project in webstorm (11.1 – new major version)

Just black screen, one sprite loaded to make sure it’s good to go.

goodToGo

I also checked that my inkscape (still version 0.91) and spriter (still version 4.1) are operational.

What’s with the versions obsession? Don’t know.

Didn’t do any game development for way too long.. I hope I can get into it quickly this weekend.

Also chronolapse still works, so there will be another video after the ld.

Good luck and have fun everybody!

We’re In For The Jam

Making this post on behalf of me (Alex) and my friends Jared and Aurel.

We’re in for the Jam, using:

  • Unity
  • Lightwave
  • Blender
  • GIMP

I have a Unity-related rules question though.  How strict are the rules regarding opting out for reusing art assets?  For instance, are the standard assets bundled with Unity fair game?  If we use one of the default skyboxes or re-target the default walk animation onto a character we modeled, do we have to opt out of the Graphics category?  Thanks!

I’m IN again

Looking forward for this LD, I hope it will be better than last three!

Tools:

  • Engine : Unity
  • 2D : GraphicGale/Inkscape/GIMP
  • 3D : MagicaVoxel

Good Luck to everyone!

I’m in again but this time is going to be special.

I’m so excited for another Ludumdare and this one is going to be really special for me. First of all I’m going to use a new engine that I have never used before, the godot engine. Second of all is that I’m going to spend the entire saturday developing my game on a laptop. The reason behind the laptop is that I will be sitting on a train the entire saturday and therefore I will need to use a laptop and to top it all off, the train doesn’t have wi-fi. Using a new engine that I have never used before without an Internet connection is going to be quite interesting. But anyway, here is the list of all the tools I will be using:

This Ludumdare is going to be really awesome, I can already feel it! Good luck everyone! 😀

Maybe you should clone the docu :)

I read about a stackoverflow dump once ( I don’t recall it being very big ). But doing all this offline might be a fun challenge as well 😉

I played a bit with Godot the last few days myself and think about using it for LDJAM 35. I look forward for your entry to see what’s possible with it. 😉 Good luck!

Hey there!

I’m very excited to join LD for my first time. I will work in Unity and keep things simple otherwise with Gimp and Audacity.

Happy jam!

In!

Long time gm48er, first time LDer, looking forward to seeing how this goes! Tools will be:

  • GameMaker: Studio for code
  • ASEprite for pixels
  • Audacity for sound

  • tullyhansen for partnering and general camaraderie.

[Obligatory “I’m in” post]

[Talk about the fact that I’m in]

[Talk about how I did in previous years]

[Lists tools being used]

[Mandatory well-wishes]

Now seriously, I’ll be using Java in eclipse, with LWJGL, along with PNGDecoder (From TWL I think?) and I’ll also be using a set of basic Tools I’ve made in Java, just things that load images, sound, music, and fonts. (But I have to make these fonts myself in my own custom format) Finally, I’ll use GIMP for my “art” and probably just a piano for my “music”. All of the above (excluding my piano and GIMP) will be in the eclipse project.

Eclipse Project

I’m very excited to see what I, and you people, can do. Good luck everyone!

I’m! + Some Tools

I’m in for my 7th LD!

And here some free tools for you!

PSDAnim: it’s a tool to use with Photoshop (or Gimp, Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool Sai, any tool that export PSD!) to view your animations while you create them! See how to use it with this GIF:

PSDAnim

DPLoadScreen: quickly add a load screen between your levels inside Unity!

I’m in!

Hey everyone, this is my first time around in LD.

OS: Debian (Linux)
Coding tool: Intellij IDEA (a better Eclipse)
Language: Java 8
Graphics: Gimp
Sound: Home piano, possible sfxr as well

Game plan:  Take nap Friday afternoon.  Await announcement at 9 on Friday (Easy Coast, woo!), begin sketching immediately.  Use power acquired during nap to stay up late and begin coding if a good idea comes along.  Eat and sleep intermittently, while simultaneously improving my game and lowering my standards, until they eventually meet in the middle, hopefully before Sunday.  Add crappy graphics and music along the way if I have time.

Happy designing!
