I’m going to try again

Going to try enemy for LD34 but have limited time this weekend.

I’m in! And writing a for a very old console

It’s been a while since I’ve had a really good coding challenge, so I’m in for this next Ludum Dare.

My current plan is to make a game for the classic 4 color Nintendo Gameboy. I love working on limited platforms, and the limited colors/sprite size/etc will ease art creation, allowing me to focus on the game itself.

I plan to write the game in C using GBDK (I know, I should be using assembly… I feel more confident using C for this short project) GBMB and GBTD. I will like

I’ve been practicing with a simple adventure game – play it here, or see the source on GitHub. It is meant to be a Gameboy version of an NES game I’m coding, though I don’t think I’ll ever really complete the Gameboy edition. (I want to focus my efforts on the NES game. Hoping to make it a real game people enjoy playing.) I’ll likely use some techniques I’ve found, and a similar makefile for compilation. I am also hoping to test on a real Gameboy! (Though this depends on me receiving the hardware in time.)

Also worth noting, I’ll be testing on real hardware using a GB USB Smart Cart from Kitsch-Bent!

I’ll try to keep this updated with progress, and I might try streaming it.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone can do!

I’m in

Will switch from Flash to Javascript with canvas this time.

While I’m at it, I’ll switch from pixel art to vector too, with Inkscape.

If there’s sound, I’ll use Ableton Live demo, Bosca Ceoil or timbre.js.

For effects http://www.bfxr.net/

I’m going to be doing some bézier stuff, so will use some base code and a simple canvas init snippet.

If there’s curves in it and it’s playable, I’ll consider this LD a success :) I won’t be seriously trying to rank well this time due to time limitations.

This is the first time I’ve seen timbre.js, it looks really neat.

LD#2 (for me)

Back for a second tilt at the LD (Jam) windmill. Have a co-conspirator in phill off whom to bounce ideas and borrow assets. Stencyl again for me. Looking forward to it!

Incomiiiiing!

Hi guys !

We will be back with the famous Final Swap lineup.

Elmobo ( @elmobo ) will punch your ears with powerful, romantic, heroic music and sound.
Gyhyom (@gyhyom ) will provide fatty, redheaded, juicy, vibrant pixels.
And your humble servant Blackmagic ( @blackmag_c ) will provide unreadably, crazy, soulful, cafeinated, code.

As always, we’ll make something full of soul and energy!

See ya!

PS : We will use haxe, flashdevelop, h3d, toshop, aseprite or flash, and of course fastTrackers, you can also track the source code on github :

I’m in finally

Haven’t been able to do any of the other LD’s this year due to school so I’m excited to be able to enter this time!

I’ll be doing the Jam like I usually do with a friend of mine doing the sounds and art.

We’ll be using GameMaker: Studio, SFXR, Photoshop CC,  Paint.Net and probably some other stuff

Good Luck everyone!

I’m in!

I am also in! I’ll be using GameMaker: Studio and a variety of other programs and magic and fairy dust. I’ve got some ideas for these themes already, and I’m pumped to participate!!! :)

I’m in I guess…

Its been a while since I last participated in a Ludum Dare compo. I attribute that fact to my lack of motivation and the ever increasing amount of university work I receive.

I will be using Java as my language of choice since that’s the programming language I am most familiar with. I will also be using the Eclipse IDE to empty my brain onto the screen with, along with Paint.net and sfxr to do the other asset stuffz. The only external library I plan on using is LWJGL 3 for the meat and potatoes of the programs backend.

I am not 100% sure on whether I’ll be tackling the weekend alone and entering the compo, or whether a friend or two will join me.

Good luck and I look forward to what everyone creates! 😀

I’m ready!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This time I will actually make it to the finish line. Pixel graphics instead of full 3D. Not sick. Enough supplies to last the weekend.

Last time I made an almost finished game, full 3D, but got caught up in trying to fix the pathfinding and physics issues. Doing the game in 2D shouldn’t have such complications near to the same extent.

Software: Unity3D, Photoshop, VS, FL Studio, Sublime Text

I’m In!

Of course I’m in!

Here is my unadventurous setup that I’ve used for the past 2 competitions:
•Language/Library: Haxe/HaxeFlixel
•IDE: Intellij IDEA
•Art: Pixen
•Music: Bosca Ceoil
•Sound: cfxr

I am trying SOMETHING new this time though – no dialogue. My previous 2 games were somewhat dialogue heavy, so just focusing on gameplay this time.

Good luck to all!

I’m in for LD 34!

I’m totally in for LD 34. I’ll be using C++, and SFML(Taking the medium-hard route, although I’m sure some will try to use straight OpenGL). I’m working on some library wrappers to use for the compo, which I will post once I post the game.

I’m using Visual studio 2013, likely notepad ++, and maybe some syntax formatter once I’m done. I’ll use github more than likely for documenting afterword, and follow up development.

I’m in!

I’ll be targeting WebGL game logic will be in Javascript and the actual rendering will be done in with in GLSL (SDF/Raymarching).. hopefully I won’t murder folks GPUs

Echo Team reporting in!

Straight from the cavern! We’re finally entering the ever evanescent Ludum Dare… after years and years of calendar conflicts we can finally join! We’re gearing up to go, are likely to use UE4, and can’t wait to see the theme! We got an artist, a programmer, a musician, and a voice actor. Plenty of stuff to go around, one might say!

Ok, so that’s about it. See you Friday! (Or Saturday, depending on where you live!)

All fired up

This is my first LD. I will be making a game for the browser in JavaScript using a text editor (vim) and Chrome + DevTools.

I’ve never really tried my hand at making art so I’ll start off with something simple like some basic pixel art or fallback to basic shapes if I get too lazy.

First time dare-er

I’m in for the first time. Super hyped!

I have already got permission to disappear from the face of Earth for the weekend from both headquarters (girlfriend) and ground control (work) so nothing can prevent me to fall into caffein induced coma 10 minutes before the deadline.

Tools:
Code: Unity 5.2 + VS2015
Graphics: Paint.NET, Krita (if needed)
Audio: Bum-chicka-wow-wow.ing into the laptop microphone or something, that’s is sadly not my expertise

No inspiration for the “I’m in” title

Hi guys !

I’m a french programmer that try to make some small video games on my free time, when I have some :p I can say it’s been a long time, last time I made one was for 32nd LD… We’ll see what I’ll be able to do.

This LD will be my sixth one, I managed to finish four games in previous Ludum Dares. I’m mostly here for fun. Each jam I try to improve one aspect of my games. The last time I kinda wanted to improve my workflow and my custom framework (built on SFML in C++) but I just hadn’t any time for that. This time we’ll see what to improve, maybe the music.

I’ll use C++ and SFML, wich is a great library built on top of OpenGL. You can find more information about it on SFML website.

I’ll also use my own “framework”, just a bunch of tools using SFML in C++. It’s not complete yet , but never will be. Anyone who wants to use it is welcome to do so. Here is the GitHub link. You can checkout some of my games or other tools/libs on my GitHub account.

Good luck to everyone !

Im In(I Hope)

I think Im in again, event though my game last time kinda sucked.

Tools: Java

Eclipse IDE

BFXR
