LD34 December 11–14, 2015

I’m in!

Second time around for me, and I will be using Unity and photoshop and maybe pyxelEdit / Voxelshop / blender depending on what I end up making.

Recently made this quite challenging Back To The Future word game as a warmup:

I’m probably in

Really looking forward to LD34 although I may not be able to participate but I’m hopeful. As for tools and stuff I haven’t decided on anything specific but I at least want my game to be web-based.

Good luck to all of you!

I’m in! Third times the charm

Another Ludum Dare and another requisite “I’m in!” post 😛

Plain JavaScript worked great for the last competition so I’m going to be returning to it once more. Just a solo entry this time (folks have exams right now :/ ) so don’t expect much in the way of sounds or graphics.

But! Because I’m always up for a challenge I’ll be making some sort of 3D rendered game this time, not something I’ve really tried before 😀 It’ll probably end up as a neat tech demo/software toy type thingy.

Tools: Got the Atom IDE recently, faster than Netbeans and more features than Notepad++. Paint.Net will be there if I end up needing images.

Good luck everyone!

I am in, prepping now!

Hello everyone and welcome back to LD!

I will be in again, as always only this time for me it will be slightly different. Recently I started working for Sony in Manchester so have a small apartment that I live in during the week. This LD I will be doing the 48hour compo from my apartment! Never done an LD away from my regular home setup so this one will be on a laptop, at a dining table.. so could get interesting/uncomfortable.

Will see how I fare over the 48 hours. Plan is to use UE4, Photoshop, bfxr.net, audacity, garage band and probably Chilltrax/SomaFM to keep me inspired audio wise.

I have been working in VR on Playstation for the last few months so it is going to be a change of pace to go back to “regular” 3D games instead of Virtual. Still, I am sure it will be awesome fun.

I will be tweeting from @xopsx and updating here when I can with pics and vids.

Get some rest before the event everyone.

see you at the announce

I’m in

I’m in again. This will be my second LD. My last one started out alright, but I ended up overdoing my art department (I’m no artist – so it consumed way too much time). So this year, I’m just aiming to see if I can make a smaller game, with passable art. And actually finish it, aha.

Using Eclipse with libGDX and GraphicsGale this time

I’m in! First time.

My first Ludum Dare! What i’m using:

Language: C++

IDE: VS Community 2015

Library: ECSREngine, SDL2

ECSREngine is an entity component system i wrote, using sdl2 as a backbone, its under MIT License so feel free to use it!

Sound: bfxr, autotracker

Graphics: Photoshop CS6

Good luck everyone!

I’m in with the time I’ve got

I hear it’s good practice to post first “I’m in”?

  • Engine: Game Maker: Studio
  • Graphics: Adobe Flash or GM sprite editor
  • Audio: Oh, crap.. Probably freesound or bfxr
  • Time: Probably got half a day free this weekend, so it will be a jam of speed for me.

I’m in!

First time doing Ludum Dare,

My tools:

  • OS – Windows 8.1 Enterprise
  • Engine – Unity 5.3/C#
  • Audio – Audacity
  • 2D Graphics – Adobe Photoshop CC 2015
  • 3D Graphics – Blender 2.76

Good luck everyone!

Any artists want to join forces?

A musician and I are in deep for the LD34 jam, but would love a focused artist to join us.  It will be a 2d Unity game. We’ve done five jams in the past.

Drop a comment if you’re interested :)

I’m in

Unity 5 (C#)
GIMP (and Blender if necessary) for graphics
bfxr for sound effects

Hopefully i’m gonna be in

6 am in the morning in my time zone 😐 i’ve gotta make sure i set an alarm clock tonight and sleep before 1:00 AM 😐 meaning that i’ll need to stop watching animes by then ! >_< No pills, medicine, drinks or whatever else which may stop me from sleeping 😮 this is my first ludum dare so if it’s gonna be 72 hours there’s no way i’d be able stay up all this  time ! The last game jam i joined was 48 hours and after that i collapsed in the hall in front of TV and slept for 12 hours!
Using unity -> C#  , Adobe Illustrator -> crappy minimal flat art(zero art talents :(  most of my works will be Derivatives or minimal squares and circles this time ) , and hopefully some of sound programs introduced in tools ! B-)

We’re in for our first Ludum Dare!

This is the first time we’re going to participate in the Ludum Dare, we’re so hyped! We’re a team from Madrid with some experience in making games but never in a jam, so let’s see if we can finish something playable in time.

Our tools:
– Unity 5.3
– Photoshop
– 3DS Max
– Substance Designer / Painter

We have already almost everything that’s necessary for the weekend, we just need some pizzas and that’s all!

We’re going to livestream all the weekend, we’ll post the streaming when it’s ready.

I be in.

My 2nd LD. Using Construct 2 or Twine.

Hopefully I’ll do sounds this time.

Back in the trenches

I’ll be joining again this time (3rd time participant) and am glad to see most the of the “You are the X” themes fell by the wayside…

It’s going to be 3D again, because 2D is just a D too few.

Also, I’m testing my TypeScript based game framework “Stardazed TX” I’ve been working on since the last LD. It’s a conversion of my native C++14 framework and I’m happy the way it’s been shaping up. It’s almost 250KiB of code so far and you can find more on the github repo.

For a quick preview of what I’m working on, see this development build of a racing game I’m using to prototype stuff:

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 12.27.55

Try it here: http://zenmumbler.net/gz/

Z to accel, A to brake, LeftRight to turn, Down for Gear-up, Up for Gear-down. This build is manual gear switching only, sorry about that. There’s some other weird things going on, but it is just a prototype after all. Be sure to try it with the volume on. (it also works on mobile with touch and tilt controls, only tried on iOS9 tho, focus is on desktop for now.)

Mandatory tools list:

  • Framework: my own Stardazed TX, because even frameworks need Capcom-style names
  • Language: TypeScript in Sublime Text 3 with Microsoft’s official TS package, works quite well.
  • Platform: WebGL, HTML5 Audio, almost all modern browsers (not sure about MS Edge tho’)
  • The standard tools for sound and music, possibly stuff from textures.com and yobi3d.com if I go for the Jam
  • May go for procedural textures and levels, depending on the theme and mood

Best of luck everyone and see you on the other side!

I’m in

I’m in!

I’ll be either using Unity3D, or allegro.js. No idea yet.

The only thing I know is that I want to finish a great game!

I’m back for Ludum dare!

Hey guys! This will be my 4th Ludum dare.

I’ll be using unity, gimp and garage band.

Here we go!

Danny

I’m in?

Hopefully i’ll be participating in the game jam, I have some work to do for university however so I may not be able to finish, but if all goes well I will be making a game using: Unity, Photoshop and as3afxr for sound effects.

I’m Hopefully In

I don’t have a lot of time this weekend, but I’ll do my best to build something in whatever time within the 48 hours that I can grab.

[Edit]I might not be in anymore.  How the hell can I make a two-button text adventure?!

In!?

So, I’m in for the jam. It’s my first LD and my first jam. I’m afraid!

I’ll be using python/pygame (in sublime text) and GIMP. Maybe I’ll also use sfxr and beepbox for sound (honestly I can’t imagine having the time, but we’ll see…)

My aim this time around is just to have fun and get something finished, no matter how crappy.
