This is gonna be my second Ludum Dare. Once again, I’ve gathered a team of a few friends. Depending on what we come up with, we’ll use either one of my custom engines or Game Maker Studio.
(I thought I’d post my own ‘I’m in’ separate to the society one)
Along with running our own small real world meetup for Ludum Dare, I will be taking part in the Jam for the first time (previously only done compo). I’ll be working with my partner over the weekend and Monday, with the aim of his design and my development skills coming together in perfect harmony (that’s the dream anyway).
Having missed the summer one due to moving I’m really looking forward to this one! It looks set to be a fun weekend with friends from our uni society, even if I might have to cover the graveyard shift once or twice.
In terms of technology, it’s fairly standard fair for me…expect a Unity game.

This will be my second Ludum Dare, and I am so excited ! Hoping to do better than last time (didn’t manage my time well and ended up with a bad unfinished game
)
Will be using Unity 5.3 as my engine, and whatever other software I need
Wishing everyone their best
Cole and Jordan Studios is doing LD Jam 34!

The usual tools…
Unity, Visual Studio (community edition)
Blender, Gimp, Paint.net
Garageband, Ableton Live Lite, Audacity
Using
Unity
Paint.net
Audacity
Good luck everyone!!!
Compo this time. I’ll be using https://github.com/WilliamBundy/LD34-libs as my starting code, as needed (might drop Farseer if I don’t end up using it). I’ll be using Aesprite, Audacity, Sunvox, BFXR, Famitracker, Sublime Text, and Python (and maybe more) as utilities, while building the core game in C# with SDL2 bindings for windowing, graphics, etc.
Will be doing this one by myself, so I’ll probably do something a bit simpler than what me and Mace did in the last LD (LD33, Monsta Stelth Gem).
The themes this time actually got me excited as there weren’t a lot of ones I disliked! (Generations or One massive enemy pls c: )
I’ll be using Haxeflixel for the programmy part, either Flash Pro CS5.5 or Aseprite for the graphiccy part, BFXR for the sfx and Bosca Ceoil for music (if I get that far).
Hyped hyped! ^w^
Tomorrow evening I’m off to a xmas-party with work and should be home around the time the Jam starts. DRUNK! Should be fun

This Ludum Dare also marks three years of one game a month challenge for me. Time to step outside of my comfort zone and really try new stuff. For couple of last LD I have played too safe.
I’ll be gearing up for this LD with:
Hello all!
First jam I’m going to attempt to partake in, didn’t know this jam was on the way until today! I’ve been wanting to participate in one of these for a long time now but I usually miss it for one reason or another.. If all goes well I’ll be gunning it for most of the weekend straight! <3
tool set:
Unity 5.x; Blender; Photoshop; Audacity (although I rarely get to the sound part…) and all mighty Google!
I primarily work in 3D, so kicking something out in such a small timespans should be something else..! It may or may not be, depending on if anyone else I know is interested :P.
BlackFesk (@LDJAM33) was our first ever Ludum Dare jam. We are four game developers and buddies who got together for the Sweden Game Jam in Skövde, Sweden. Sweden Game Jam was a local game jam where everyone who had planned to make a game for LD 33 could sit together and have a smaller competition with each other, before uploading the game to LD33, in a nice creative environment.
When the theme was announced, we came up with a TON of ideas, but as soon as the idea of a “Giant squid, wrecking ships into airplanes… Oh, and screenshakes! ” came up, we all decided that was it. Our reasoning was merely that something about it sounded like great fun.
Making the game, we had a blast! Although most of us are no strangers to Game jams in general, what really surprised us about Ludum Dare was the amount of feedback and constructive criticism people put on the game pages.
We were so excited every time a new BLACKFESK comment emerged that the person who found it would immediately send it to everyone else in the team via social media.
It seems like the Ludum Dare community is a really strong and caring one, and we will gladly participate in more LD jams in the future!
We would also like to recommend having local events like this, in conjunction with Ludum Dare or any other international jam. Making games in a creative and social game-jamming environment is a great way to inspire/get inspired and add extra fun to the experience!
Thanks for reading! /Team Blackfesk
I’ll be rolling with Unity as usual.
Looking forward to it!
