First Jam – Ludum Dare, let’s go!

Howdy,

I’m xodene (Maximillian), programmer and music producer. This is my first Ludum Dare and game jam. I’m pretty excited to start working, a game jam seems the perfect place to enhance my game design skills. A bad habit of mine is to linger on game concepts for months, hopefully the 72 hours will spark my creativity.

So what kind of handy tools I’ll be using this weekend?

  • Godot v2.0 as my game engine
  • LMMS as my audio sequencer, along with ZynAddSubFX as my primary soft synth
  • Photoshop CS6 for art/graphics

Additionally, I’m going to try to steam development on Twitch! I’ll definitely be live all Saturday morning (PST) and possibly Friday night. Good luck to all developers, I’m looking forward to trying your game!

I’m in.

This is only my 12th Ludum Dare so I expect to make all the rookie mistakes.

I’ll be using GameMaker: Studio, Paint.net and SFXR, maybe some Bosca Ceoil if I can be bothered (there’s never time, so probably not)

Hopefully my game won’t suck.

It's nearly going to line up nicely!

I’m in LD#34 !

Long time no see !

Now that I made a wallpaper, I had to get in.

My first was ld32, my second will be 34. I started with Haxe but I want to try something with unity this time.

I’ll probably use the following:

Unity 5.3 (didn’t try the webgl build yet but I hope it got better ^^)
Blender
Gimp
Reason and Audacity for the sounds/music

Again, my main goal is to make something simple but enjoyable. Also, I hope I’ll have enough time to put art in it o/

A bold, dangerous plan!

Actually, planning and feature-creeping is my main obstacle, so the plan this time is to:

1.) Not plan! Not look at the theme. Avoid Twitter. Instead, I’ll sit down and just let the code… flow like water (not uphill).

2.) Day 2 however, I’ll look at the theme and shoehorn it in! Hopefully I’ve got an engine-blob in place that is flexible enough to be shaped into something which works.

Yeah!

Am I in?

I think I will be in this weekend. Still contemplating, as almost none of the themes I liked or was even neutral about made it to the final voting round.

If I participate I will probably use:

Unity
Gimp
SFXR
Famitracker

Count me in!

I am super excited to participate! In LD 31 and 32 I had a blast!(I was on vacation for LD 33, damn holidays!) I want to be a game developer for a living, so making a game, getting some feedback and learning from others’ works it’s just too damn good!

This time around, I won’t be using java, though. I’ve been working a lot with Unity and feel very comfortable with it, so I will use it. Let’s see if this time around I can get something for the Jam, if not, C0mpo will also be alright ;).

Hope you all have fun and make great games! Good luck!

Super excited! :D

These are the best times of the year! I can’t wait to nearly kill myself making a game in 3 days! 😛

I have no idea what I’ll be doing or using this year, but it’ll most likely be the usual programs of MSPaint, FL/Cubase/SFXR, Clickteam Fusion/Flash/GMS and lots of tea.

It’s going to be a blast! Hope everyone has a great time this upcoming weekend!

T_T In…most likely

I thought Ludum Dare started next weekend!  I should learn to read…

Anyway, I’m going to try and participate this time, regardless of theme though I may lose part of Saturday.

I have two ideas I’d like to expand upon, but I also want to do some Twitch interactive gameplay / networking stuff so it’ll just depend on said theme.  I’ll be using Unity, possible using Unity 5.3 and seeing if their web GL stuff is any good *shrug*.  If not, I’ll just do PC, Linux, and Mac builds and put them on my itch.io site.

Good luck to everyone!

This time I’ll be writing c using SDL and compile to the web using Emscripten. I’ll be using the base code in https://github.com/vidarn/sokoban as a starting point for the game.

I’ll be streaming at http://www.twitch.tv/vidarnel/ the whole weekend

Good luck everyone! :)

I don’t have lot of time this week end but i will try to do a fun little game.

Good Luck to all !!

Returning again for my 4th Ludum Dare!

I’m in again for my fourth Ludum Dare! I’ve not had time to practice, or even really prepare due to life events, but I’m down and have set the time aside to focus on it again!

Good luck to everyone, and have fun!

I’m a first time competitor so hopefully things don’t blow up. I’ll either be using HaxePunk / HaxeFlixel or GLOOME depending on the theme.

My First

STAY DETERMINED!

My first time

Hi! We are a designer and a programer. We are from Spain and this is our first time.

We’re going to use Unity and we are looking for artists, programmers and musicians! :)

Good luck to everyone, and have fun!

May the Ludum be with Dare. Always.

Well, it’s my first time participating, and I hope all goes well for everybody here. Good luck! :)

I’ll be using Java and LWJGL, will probably do a timelapse of it all and know it’ll be fun.

I’m back (I’m In)

The last time I entered a Ludum Dare was back in 30 where I didn’t do so well. I had severely underestimated things and my perfectionist side got the better of me.

I’m ready to see if I can redeem myself this time around and hopefully at least do better than last time. A finished game would be great, but if I at least get something that’s fairly decently playable then I’ll be happy with my progress. I did the first jam with unreal engine 4 which I never used at that point and some things never change. 😛 I won’t be using ue4 this time but I will be using another engine that I don’t know much about. I just love the excitement of learning something new while a rapidly approaching deadline looms on the horizon. What will be different this time however, is I’m not going to let my perfectionist side get to me this time. Things won’t look the best but they’ll certainly work for the task they’d be created for.

Tools:
Engine: Stencyl 3.3.2 (Flash and Windows)
