Super excited for LD37. Hopefully it will be better than that rushed mess I made in LD36, so I figured I’d start improving by practicing pixel art. Here’s an idea for a hero character.
I'm using:
I hope the theme isn't disappointing.
Using Java and Paint.NET (and FL Studio [and probably JLayer]).
This is my 4th Ludum Dare submission, which is a survival sandbox wave game. No audio unfortunately, due to crashes after exporting the .jar file. But still, try it out here:

Let's do this!
I'll be using:
I wanted to avoid the lag wave and inevitable webpage crashes due to happen in about an hour, so I submitted mine a bit early.

This is the first time I've ever been ranked for my game in LD, here are my results:

Innovation: 399th (3 average from 22 ratings)
Theme: 233rd (3.65 average from 22 ratings)
Graphics: 527th (2.786 average from 23 ratings)

Humor: 433rd (2.316 average from 21 ratings)
Mood: 501st (2.711 average from 21 ratings)
Huge thanks to everyone that played it, and I hope to do better when April rolls around.
Although I've been learning C++ lately, I'm still going to be using Java as I feel that my C++ skills aren't exactly up to being able to create a game within C++ and OpenGL yet. Java is a great language for prototyping anyway. I'll be using FL Studio 12 and Paint.NET for the art and music. Good luck to all my fellow participants!
It's finally over, but it was too soon.

This will be my first time using C++, OpenGL, and my new framework that I made for LD. I'll also be using Paint.NET for graphics and FL Studio for audio.
It seems like every Ludum Dare, we get a theme like
..and many others.

Trying to gage the idea of what themes are most likely to win.
Threw together some concept art in case "You are the final boss" wins

DISCLAIMER: This poll isn't cheating. The results in this poll reflect which themes are more LIKELY to win. For example, in the previous Ludum Dare, the theme One Minute was at the top, despite Running Out Of Space winning. Anything in the top 5 or so can easily end up being the theme, depending on how many people participate in this poll. Oh, and I am that guy that created the theme poll for the last LD.
2 hours early!
Did not expect that.

Also this is the first time in a while I haven't seen Floating Islands be a theme.

Again, like an actual election, you should never trust the polls to tell you which theme is going to win, but it should give you a good idea of which ones people are gunning for.
EDIT: Also this one only allows one awnser.
Probably my best LD submission yet (or at least the one I'm most proud of). Check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/marooned
