LD 42 August 10–13, 2018

Creating an entry on existing multiplayer platform

Is it allowed to create an entry that relies on an already existing multiplayer back-end? Thus still creating all the functionality on the back-end, but making sure there is a reliable and stable connection for others to play your game on? Instead of peer-to-peer I would like to try and make a dedicated server this year!

I'm in (and it has been a while)

My last LD was LD 35. Sooo yeah it has been a while but I can't wait to join this one!!!!!!!!!!!!

released my first game

Theme Suggestions

So here are my themes for LD42!

  • Existential crisis (I have one once a week... and always i found that the solution is making games)
  • Ikigai (My indie "career")

Music Game Jam 2018 (Sept 1-15) - make a music-related game and win prizes!

Hey LD jammers!

I'm hosting the 2nd annual Music Game Jam from Sep 1-15, where you make a music-related game in two weeks!

Last year's games included music-based tower defense, pitch-controlling platforming, and guitar shop management, just as a few examples!

Summer's almost gone and LD's almost here!

This summer went by so fast! I can't believe it's already time for the next Ludum Dare.
Thinking about moving back into 3D for this one, does anyone know a fairly robust 3D engine with a shallow learning curve?

Do you like rage games?

thumb.jpg Hi everyone I'd like to share with you my last game MATTER, a challenging minimalist looking game, you can download it for free or if you like to support it pay what you want for it, Thanks

I have 2 suggestions left

I've chosen only the (supposedly) best of my 6 candidate suggestions. Wow, 2 less suggestions for everyone to downvote! This adds up to...

No, seriously, maybe this will encourage others to do the same  Why? Because :bacon:

First game, first blood

Hello guys! I released my first android game on play market. If you interested u can get it free on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.septimus.game. Have a nice day and keep coding:)

Artist needed!

Hey everyone. Ludum Dare 42 is just a couple of weeks away. I always participated solo, but I want to work with someone else this time, creating a better game.

If you are a 2D or 3D artist looking to participate in the jam but coding is not your strength, this is your chance. I'm a computer engineer with lots of experience developing games and using the Unity game engine.

  • It's a game jam, so you need to be prepare to develop several models in just 72 hours.

  • You don't need to know animation. We could find clever ways to create them with code. But if you do animate, it would be a great bonus.

  • For the jam I'm not looking for really detailed models. By the contrary, simplistic or even low poly models would make things faster and easier to work with.

If you want to see my previous entries, where I did everything myself, go ahead:

I Made an LD 42 Background

This was made in illustrator as part of a new tradition among my friends where we all make LD wallpapers to use during the competition.

This image should be massive enough for most displays (8k res).

I don't care if you use or distribute or anything.

Good luck to everyone for LD 42!

Just Wondering

Are there going to be any more mini LDs, or did they stop?
