Looking for "from scratch" games

Hi everyone !

I'm sad 'cause I haven't yet see "from scratch" games during this LD. By from scratch games, I'm talking about games made without game engine (unreal, unity, etc), but only with code and some graphics lib (pygame, sfml, sdl, glfw, etc).

If you made one (or if you saw one), please give me some links in comments !

(and don't forget to say what was used to make the game !)

Спасибо всем ! :v:

CROM doesn't like waiting.

CROM is waiting for you to play his game.

(In all seriousness, we hope you'll have fun ;) )

Thinking of participating in ludum dare 44

Last time i did one i did it alone witch led to an incomplete game this time im forming a team so i can hopefully make a completed project

Fourth Ludum Dare, bring it on!

This time last year, I was preparing for my first-ever Ludum Dare, and hoping to finally create my first fully-fledged game. Since then, I've had great success with all three of my entries, and I've now progressed to developing a full-scale game with a view to potentially releasing it on Steam.

Of course, I'll still be taking part in LD44 as usual. I may switch to the TIC-80 engine for this one, as it's what I'm using for my full-scale game. From my experiences here so far, I need both interesting gameplay and an engaging storyline, so whatever I make will try and combine those two things. Hopefully I keep up my good track record!

We continued working on our idea for LD42

Slowly working on our game on weekends, we feel happy where it is getting

This is how it looked back on LD42: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/hammer-dongers

We are in!

Me and @sag05 are in again! Last time we didn't manage to finish in time. That means that so far we have submitted something every other Ludum Dare since LD41. Statistically that means that we will submit something this time .

Good luck everyone!

We're in, again ^^

Finally, after almost 2 years, we'll participate again. We'll use the same setup as for LD42: libGDX as gamelibrary in eclipse, sfxr, various graphics-software and git(-hub) to collaborate properly. For this time, we finally found someone musically interested to help us with the backgroundmusic \o/

Hopin' for some interesting theme, have fun everyone!

Hmmmm idea???

I do something like this :) 57BE964F-5937-41DA-BAFE-967FAB5725D8.jpeg

It's been fun!

This Ludum Dare was great! Looking forward to the next one.

If you are looking for a game to rate why not try my compo entry, "Defend the Loot!" The objective of the game is to defend your loot chest from waves of enemies. Before each wave you get a minute to build up your base. The game has 10 levels which consist of 10 waves.

Leave a comment with a link to your game!

Leave a comment with a link to your entry and I'll give it a rating and some feedback. I'll try to get through all of them.

Also, if you're interested you can check out my submission here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/defend-the-loot

Defend the Loot! - Check it out

If you haven't played my compo entry, "Defend the Loot!" why not give it a try? The objective of the game is to defend a treasure chest from waves of enemies. Before each wave you get a minute to build up your base. There are 10 levels in total.

I'm also working on a post-compo update, which takes in most of the suggestions I've been given. If you have some feedback leave a comment on the game's page, and I'll probably add it into the game.

You can find the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/defend-the-loot

Enjoy!

I'm in!

Me and @Pegasys are working together on our second joint Ludum Dare game. Have some good ideas for several themes (please don't let it be shelter).

IDE: Visual Studio

2D Assets: Photoshop

Audio: Audacity and Sfxr

Some of the art on my game

Although I found out that I love programming, my passion is art, so I thought of using it to my advantage in this jam, unfortunately, I didn't managed to do everything I planned, but the things I did I'm very proud of. The game ended up shipping in black and white, but my original plan was to add colors, here's a post-jam mockup I did to see how I would look like: thomas OFF - guara comparação.png Feel free to tell me which one you prefer, any comment are very much appreciated.

And don't forget to check the game out if you haven't yet:

I also did some icons that didn't ended up in the game (I only used the ice cream one), they are supposed to be menu and loading icons respectively: icons.png

And here's a better look at the other characters, they don't have a name, but I designed each one to fit a personality type. The maned wolf is supposed to be the shy one, the mustache one to be the spy, and the cool hair to be the quirky one (yes, it is a JoJo reference): chars trans.png

If you like the art of My Flavor-ite Kidnapper consider following me on Twitter, I post all of my art there.

Also, my game is 5 ratings away from scoring, check it out if you haven't already:

In defence of Doors

Doors. Doors. Doors! Doors? Do-ors. Doors. Smoores. Doors. More doors. Four doors. The door to my soul. The door for my mole. Doors are cool. Doors are small. I like doors. Cats have four paws. Always check your indemnity clause.

In all seriousness though Doors #1 theme, only beaten by harvest. God I loved that theme. Any of you window lovers please go away and think about your life choices.

We're in (10th Jam)

We're in. This will be Ruslana and I's 10th Game Jam. The team has expanded since last time. We have a new artist, @ruslana, she's very talented and already come up with some great ideas for the final themes. Returning from last time is @theoconfidor, our composer. His music in Checkmite was great and I'm very much looking forward to what he can create this time. @Pegasys and I will be doing the programming again but he now has a released game under his belt. All these achievements are giving me a bit of imposter syndrome.

The final themes look interesting and this might be the first time in a long time we don't have one of Folklore, floating islands, Strange Machines or the like.

Our tools are as follows

Game Engine: Unity 6

Art and Textures: Photoshop

Modelling: Maya

Audio Editing: FL Studio, Audacity

Audio Instruments and Tools: Focusrite Scarlett, East-West Sounds Composer Cloud, Toontrack Drums
