This 44th LD will be my 4th :)
Going to be working in Go again, using: - Pixel: https://github.com/faiface/pixel - TilePix: https://github.com/bcvery1/tilepix

I am in the middle of writing a javascript programming environment called Blur Programming which seeks to combine Scratch with the BlockLike.js library! I am hoping to have it finished in time for Ludum Dare 44, so that I can use it to make my entry!

I'm in again! My first LD was 43, with it as my third Game Jam. Now, I'm doing 44 and my fourth, and I'm ready! As always, I use GameMaker Studio 2 and Piskel, as well as Bosca Ceoil and bfxr for sound. My Theme Suggestions are as follows:
I'm ready for this, and I sure hope you all are as well
Hello! I'm still in! However, as it turns out, Terabyte and I and have very different goals for this LD and so we agreed that it would not be productive for us to collaborate. I will be doing another solo jam, which I'm alright with. Terabyte and I have not fallen out and we are just as good friends as before this decision came to pass.
I will try to aim towards making a compo submission, but the main issue there is time. I know I want to do something rather ambitious and something that could actually become a full game, perhaps sometime this summer. Thus, to enable myself to come up with and implement all these core mechanics, I will likely be making it a Jam submission, even if that Monday will be largely consumed by school.
Good luck, everyone! I am hyped for this jam!
It's pronounced "be-throld". A bit of slang where I come from, it's the ironic imperative of behold. Use it when you're telling people to behold nothing much.
A day ago, I taught myself more about game development in a night than I learned in the past six months because I had to sit down with my tool of choice - Godot - and make something for other people. Since that worked so well, I decided to do more learning by doing, and to that end, I'm joining LD44's jam component, and this public declaration is here to make sure I stick with it.
OK! quick pre-LD post, Go!
After having made Sorcerer's Gambit last year in LD43, I and JasAcken are returning to the Land of Insomnia that is Ludum Dare. I am incredibly excited for this year's theme and games, cause if theres one thing I love more than making games, its playing them. I am currently working on my Theme Suggestions as of writing this and an anonymous project, not related to LD in anyway, in the background.
EXCITMENT INCREASES!
I'd really like to participate in LD once again, however there are two factors that might potentially interfere with that. Firstly, my finals start in a week. That's a huge chunk of my time. Secondly, my game engine is nowhere near completion. If I was better at time management and were more disciplined, I would probably eaisly find the time to resolve both of these issues. But alas, we'll have to see.
Welp, I finally did it. I scraped together the footage from last time and made a timelapse. Pretty late, but if anyone's interested, you can see it at the link below. I would recommend playing the game first though, as the video is one big spoiler for it.

test for the first time
Hi all! I continue to study game design with a complex narrative component. Besides, I'm starting to study neural networks. It will be fun to come up with a good task for learning neural network in Unity.
pygame 1.9.5 has been released.
Every single source file has been heavily modified and moved in this release. Initial (source code only) support for SDL2 has been merged in. We also support compiling with SDL1 in the same code base, so the migration to pygame 2 is easier. pygame 2 will be released with SDL2 being the default backend when some remaining issues are ironed out. The 1.9.x releases will continue with SDL1 until then. Also, the C API of pygame is undergoing a transformation with lots of cleanups. Then there have been plenty of other cleanups all throughout the python code as well. There's still lots to clean up, but things should be significantly easier for people to contribute (👋 hello and thanks new contributors!). The documentation has been improved with better examples links, search functionality, and improved navigation. Support for older Macs, and newer Macs has been improved. The mask, midi, draw, and math modules have gotten lots of polish with rough edges removed.
I certainly don't want to see any Floating Islands this time T_T
I'm interested in forming a team with a someone who can make music and sounds, for Ludum dare 44.
If You're interested please leave a comment below, thanks! :grinning:
Hello everyone! I am a music producer/composer looking to join a team for LD44. I have produced music for film, tv, commercials, and recently videogames. You can check out some of my work here: http://amerigogazaway.com/licensing/
My theme suggestions for ld44:

I'm really hoping this first one has a chance.
Heyo! My first time doing this and super excited! I've been teaching myself programming last few years, think it's about time I challenge myself with this!
Had a quick question: do you suggest any additional software? Currently, I'm using GodotEngine, Notion (for project management), and PyxelEdit for the sprite editor. Might anyone have suggestions for other software that I may find useful during this event?
Thanks a ton in advance! Beef
