I’m certaintly in!

this will be my second ludum dare, i hope will do much better than last LD 😀

Game Engine: I still don’t know, i honestly don’t, i want to use unity, it’s so tempting because i already quite familiar with it, but i want to use something different, still note sure what, i’m familiar with C family (C,C++ and C#), java a little bit, HTML and JS, if anyone got a suggestion please leave a comment 😀  (i probably will not using it now, but i will certaintly take a look at it)

Audio: bfxr

Music: probably pixitracker, but still not sure

I am actually in a similar situation in terms of game engine choice. I am very used to Unity, but might go ahead and try to piece something together with Unreal. Try it, still feels weird to me, but I really want to try something new this LD.

Of course I’m in!

Game Engine: Processing (not JS!)

Music: GarageBand? asfxr? Not sure…

Art: PikoPixel

Looking forward to the Dare!

I am so in.

Hey dudes, 3rd Ludum Dare, 2nd time doing the compo. First time I did the compo (LD32), I went with 2D graphics (game can be found at http://asado.itch.io/vinnie) since 3D art was something impossible for me. Now I am getting more or less confident with basic 3D modelling and this time I am positive that I will create a fully 3D game.

Game Engine: Unity 5 or Unreal Engine 4 (probs Unity)

3D Art: Blender

2D Art: Substance Painter + Paint.NET

Sound: No idea lol

I will try to make the game funny and technically advanced, probably just one interesting game mechanic/gimmick that I have not done before.

Spodermen has sweg

I’m in

Hi there, I am in again sadly this time without my team. But going for a sweet little solo run and we’ll see whats happening.

Tools: Unity, Blender, maybe a gaya synth and whatever I find necessary to help me

If you really want a team, I recommend reddit.com/r/gameteam to find people to collaborate with! Good luck either way!

Woo!

I did the last few Ludum Dares in a team, so this time I want to do it solo.

  • C
    • SDL and OpenGL for graphics
      • SOIL and SDL_mixer for handling media
    • Java as a fallback point
    • Javascript + WebGL?
    • jMonkeyEngine3?
  • Audacity for sound effects
  • Some music composing software if I decide to make music
  • GIMP or Paint for drawing stuff
  • Coffee because it tastes good
  • If my computer stops freezing when I try to livestream I will try to livestream!

This is my last Ludum Dare before I head off to college: this event has been a big part of my life all throughout high school, and I want to make this one my best entry!

I’m in!

Hopefully I am entering the game jam this month.

I program in Python normally but I will probably be creating something platformery in Unity (and it will be completely unoriginal)

Maybe we will even get a livestream.

Engine: Unity3d

I’m in

This will be my “second” LD as in my second time that I hopefully will post a “complete” game. This time tho, I will try to get more done and maybe even some sound..

  • Engine: Thinking about skipping Love2D for HTML5 maybe Phaser..
  • Artwork: Pyxel and Gimp
  • Music/Sound: Not sure yet, need too do some research on this topic..

I’m in!

LD32 was too much fun to not join this time as well. :-)

Hopefully I will place better this time!

Lesson learned: Less is more!

Good luck everyone!

Tools: My own ludum-engine based on Java/LibGDX, Inkscape, Gimp, Audacity, Sndfxr, and CGMusic

Wrong link on LD site

Hello , in the tools section it gives a link to LD deals for LD31. Right now it doesn’t really matter because LD 33 didn’t start yet , but when it does start it could confuse users if the wrong link is up.

Participating for the fourth time

Ludum Dare 33? I’m in!
This will be my fourth Ludum dare. The first time I worked solo and gave up somewhere on the second day. The second and third times were together with a friend, Oxysocks, who will again be joining me for LD33.

We will be using our own humble Java 2D game framework that we have basically extracted from our previous Ludum Dare entry, after which it got improved and extended a bit.
The sprites will probably be created using photoshop/GIMP/paint.net/inkscape.
Any other tools are not determined yet, but those will probably be mentioned in a first-day post.

I am really looking forward to the theme voting and of course the jam itself! Good luck and have fun everyone!

My Return (I’m in for LD33!)

Wow, I didn’t realize it had been so long since I entered one of these! Looking at my archives tells me it’s been two years since my last participation in LD27! Life isn’t always permissive towards shutting away for three days, and twice I’ve had to choose between Ludum Dare and Prom. This spring it wasn’t just Prom, but the ACT as well. I love making games with you guys, but not enough to skip that. If you guys schedule the spring Dare on my prom weekend again, I’m going to be convinced it’s a conspiracy against me.

Just because I haven’t jammed with you guys doesn’t mean I’ve been idle, however. I’ve been learning a lot (both in programming and elsewhere) and have done a lot of work on personal side-projects. In fact, one of them is incredibly relevant to the compo here!

I’m planning to enter the compo with my game in C++, with a Windows and Linux support (I hope, I’ve never tried to distribute a Linux program before). I’ll be building off my “SkilLib” engine, which I’ve been working on (slowly) over the course of a year or so. It’s an entity-component based system and it’s not like anything I’ve ever made before, but a while back I made a proof-of-concept clone of Breakout (on GitHub here) and it seems to make more sense than the traditional inheritance model. Of course my implementation may be totally hacked together, but that’s kind of half the fun. I just made my repo for SkilLib public, and I plan on adding to it some more to make it more feature-complete before the jam begins. As for some deeper tech info, it references the Simple OpenGL Image Loader (SOIL) as well as GLFW and GLEW.

While I’ve gotten incredibly unlucky so far in LD dates since 27 all those jams ago, this one comes the weekend before school starts, so I won’t even have anything else to worry about. Maybe it’s a good sign. I look forward to jamming with you all once again!

I Might Not Make It

Well, sad to say that I might not make my second Ludum Dare.  I am learning unity pretty well, but I’m not very sure I’m compatant enough to make a complete game. I will try at the very least, but I have to either quit, or turn my game in early. I am starting 7th grade, and I don’t want to miss a day. Turning Zombie on monday might not work to well. I will try, but I don’t know if I should turn in my half made game. I might. Good Luck to all you Jammers!

Go with the compo then! It ends at nine, and then if you do complete it you can show it to kids at school and seem super cool on the first day! BTW, I first learned Unity at that age too!

In for LD33

I’m in for LD33.

I’ll use GameMaker, Unity or HaxePunk, depending on what I what I want to make after the theme announcement.

For content I may make use of FL Studio, sfxr, asesprite and Adobe CC.

Sharing PC2D: A 2D Platformer Controller for Unity3D

Hey fellow Ludumdarers,

48 (or 72 hours) isn’t a lot of time to implement your game! Since time is the most valuable resource, anything that helps save it is incredibly beneficial. To help others save time (and build better games!) I wanted to share a free open source 2D platformer controller that I have been building up for Unity3D.

PC2D

PC2D GitHub Page

With PC2D your characters can run around, jump off of walls, and dash within minutes! Corner grabs? Slopes? Moving platforms? One way platforms? No problem!

To see it in action, my previous LD entry was built using the Controller.

Play Beep Boop

Hopefully this will be of use for others!

C.J.

I am in for LD 33!

Super happy to take part to another compo! It is my LD number eight. Hopefully this time I won’t screw it up as usual and be able to complete a decent game. I know I say this every time, it has become sort of a ritual.

Engine: RenPy, or Twine, depending if I want to go the interactive fiction or the visual novel route

IDE: Emacs

Graphics: Paint.net, MyPaint

Sound: bfxr, audacity

Alright, that is all for now. See you in a couple of weeks.

Hope you’re all ready! :)

LudumDare33

I am out :-(

My wife and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year and have scheduled a vacation over the Ludum Dare 33 weekend. It will be a bittersweet vacation missing the game jam I fell in love with 4 LD’s ago, but I’ve got my eyes set on December, and am looking forward to returning in glorious fashion to LD 34!

Ludum Dare Wallpaper

This is the first time I’ve made a wallpaper for Ludum Dare… I didn’t draw this, but took this from a audio visualizer I put on one of my songs, then slapped Ludum Dare on it. I think it looks pretty sick.
