LD33 August 21–24, 2015

LF2M Jam Partners

As you all know, Ludum Dare 33 is coming up. I am getting together a team for my first jam submission (I’ve done 2 compos before and a jam at the global game jam).
So far we have:
1 -Programmer/Designer
2 -Programmer
3 -Concept Artist

We need some more people:
We are looking for people with talents in:
-designer (we need another)
-animation
-sound effects + music

If you are looking for a game jam group for this next LD and have any of those talents, feel free to leave a reply. I can of course answer more questions about us, if there are any.

I’m interested in helping out. I can work as both a designer or animator, although I guess I am best as a programmer, I am proficient in both roles stated above

By designer do you mean artist? if so, I may be interested in joining…

Feedback for Space survival odyssey [Indies Vs Gamers]

Space survival odyssey Gameplay

This time it was a hard time creating the game.. I started trying to create a multiplayer but I give up, and when left 16 hours to deadline I decided to start another game that was this spaceman game.

Survive in the space, collect itens exploding meteors and explore the vast outer space.

How to play?

Basically you have three status bars and they measure the percentage of: oxygen; plasma (ammunition) and foot jet fuel.

  • Oxygen | Your oxygen will be constantly running out, for get more and to also continue alive you need to explore the pieces of meteors
  • Plasma | Ammunition for your gun, auto reloads when the gun is not being used
  • Foot jet fuel | Fuel of jet boots, auto reloads when on the ground

Currently there are 3 types of items: golden coins; blue jewelry and capsules of oxygen.

The time in space passes very quickly, so the longer you survive, better for your health 😀

Please play and rate it or just leave a feedback :)

Your very own 2h game contest!

Hey there!

After 9 hours at work I had to relax at home by coding SOMETHING! So I thought: “Hey you missed the Indie vs. Gamers Jam, so let’s do your very own!”. I decided challenge myself into a 2h game dev mini-jam. And here’s what unity helped me to do in that time:

Try it yourself! Challenge yourself!

Greetings!

Wow!! Great news!!

I’m currently working with haxe, and would be cool if I can make some game for a console… Improvable, but cool 😀

I’m in!

Ok, so the FAQ says my account should exist after I do this or something.

Hyped for LD33!

I’m definitely in!

Probably gonna do the Jam again because I like the extra time 😀

I’m In!

First Ludum dare, and I’m in. Pretty hyped for ld33, as well

Super Divernaut: A Ludum Dare success story

spaceship

As LD33 approaches, why not take a look at a past LD project that’s in current development as a full release? Super Divernaut was originally made under the title “Divernaut” for the LD48 themed “Beneath the Surface”. It’s been a blast to keep working on the base built from the compo, and I wanted to share with everyone the progress made so far. Check out the game’s page on IndieDB where you can download the Alpha Demo. Give it a play and let us know what you think!

I’m in

Oh hey, I’m in again.
I’ve booked off the Monday following and hopefully this time I’ll not be totally drained from work and make something that’s just-about-playable.
I’ve not really decided what to use yet – it really depends on what theme and what sort of game that inspires me to write.
If anyone’s interested in meeting up in London or Reading, I might come along. I can organise one if there’s enough demand.

Last chance to vote on #IndiesVsGamers gamejam

I’ve seen posts about IndiesVsGamers gamejam, so this is not that inappropriate 😀

Anyway, the voting ends in like 13 hours. So, if you are bored or just wanna play some gamejam games, go there and play and vote! you can use it as an exercise for Ludum Dare in 3 weeks 😀 The Jam

I have entered this gamejam as well and I think I did a pretty good job. But, I only received 5 votes for which I am truly grateful but, more would be lovely :) So, If you can, go and have a look at my game. You won’t be disappointed (probably) The Game

Well, this is my second Ludum Dare! Last time I’m using blender, but this time I learned Unity. So, I’m using that instead. Hopefully I can actually make a game, not screw up and lose hours ;D

I’m way too tired to write a proper post-mortem, but I’ll be writing a full blog post on this game later in the week and posting it here.

Here are a couple of brief points about how it went:

1. I’m pretty happy with how the art turned out.

2. I drastically underestimated how long this “little game” would take (mostly due to hand-painting everything).

3. The gameplay is really, really simple…basically you walk around and talk to people in the correct order to win. This was on purpose so that I could really push myself on the art without having to spend a ton of time coding it.

4. I’m really bummed that I didn’t have time to add music or audio (well, I could have, but again I wanted to focus on the art). I was really tempted to dig my theremin out of the closet. :)

5. I’m tired.

Simple gesture script for Unity

By waiting the next LudumDare I did yesterday a little script which seems to me useful for those who are doing some game on mobile device – however it works fine with mouse events for your application or WebPlayer project. By using this script it will be very easy to recognize some swipe movement on screen (It has been developed so as to be used only with an orthographic camera). It takes into consideration up/down/right and left gestures – like in 2048 game. It could be improved by other features. I hope that it helps someone here – maybe so as to create a game on mobile device for the next LudumDare session – 33th. See you soon folks. Best regards ++

And of course, I am IN :)
