Welcome to Karmarvest, the video game where you will have to cultivate your destiny and your karma as the most precious harvest. :sunflower: You embody a character and with every choice you make, you must consider how they will influence your future... or not Think of it like a seed that you plant in the ground : it can germinate immediately or years later. But in any case, you must take care of it and kept it away from weeds. Fate and karma are like the natural elements that will influence your harvest. They can be supportive and help you reap the rewards of your efforts, or they can be unfavorable and put the field of your hopes in danger.

I'll be playing some of your games live on stream tonight at 6:00PM UTC. I'll be chatting and giving feedback.
If you'd like me to play your game, please submit it here: https://forms.gle/mE7UT356RCRXYu7P9
We had some doubts, we were not sure we would be able to finish our game for the jam deadline. Now we are sure, our project is not ready to fly yet.

And it's ok. Really. We've learned a lot of stuff, we've tried a lot of things we had never done before. It's the third time we try to make a 3d game, and it's been a lot of fun. We're quite proud of our glitchy flying sim in an endless-seamless-tiling-world. Controls don't really work as intended, the camera is pretty basic, there are some pretty serious issues with loading new tiles of the map (the game freezes for a whole second), the gameplay mechanics are not fully implemented, there's no audio, no music, etc.
But we had fun.

And... it's not finished yet. We plan to try to eradicate most the nasty bugs, do some severe optimization, and polish our little game. The new plan is to release it in the extra format. It will take some time, but it should be ok.

Good luck to everyone making the final adjustments to their jam games, hope everything has been smooth for people doing the compo. I can't wait to try all your games!
In the meantime, one last gif. We have no game to show, only some gifs.

Ok, so it is a farming game, but there is no island (Jam game on the weekend, no time for Island assets.. etc etc). Also we should have a combine not a tractor with a plow thingy behind it, but whatever =]
Unfortunately it looks like it doesn't work on Safari due to MultiMeshInstance/GLES3 in Godot/WebGL2 (we needed GLES3 for multimeshinstancing of the crops), so sorry all you iOS testers, although I just pushed up touch support. Unfortunately itch seems to force it into portrait mode, so although it is playable on my Pixel, it needs to be landscape to get to a competitive speed...
.. which is to point out, We Have a LeaderBoard, so channel your youth lawn-mowing experience (or equivalent), and show us what you can do! Scoring is a combination of efficiency (distance traveled to harvest all the wheat), with a time bonus (1/time * fudgefactor) for those who go full throttle!

 :video_game: :v: :peace: !

Phew! That was a lot of work! But we're pretty happy with the result and hope you will be too!

Are we allowed to update the game with simple bug fixes after submitting to the compo?
Second time participating in Ludum Dare and this one was tough for me! Nonetheless, my submission is now out with my game oh so cleverly called "The Harvesting"!

So I've been making a farming clicker game and it's just starting to come together how I imagined. I was really worried I wouldn't have a satisfying game loop. However now that I can properly test it, this turned out to be very engaging even without much direction to it right now. Still have to create a lot of content and implement a bunch of things but I'm confident I can have something I'm happy with in the next 3 and a half hours.
.

Our little NES game is now feature and content complete! Time do the final round of polishing!

Spacebar: Plant (-10HP)
WASD: Move
Upgrade: Click Plant
Attack: Auto
The player's health drops over time. Planting plants also consumes health.
However, plants do give you health points.
Old people rush to get youth from plants and players.
Just hold on for 3 minutes
Tip: It's better to keep hitting the space bar repeatedly.
This is my first time Ludum Dare. Also, this is my first game. Thank you for playing even for a moment.

Hey there! I've just added alternative controls and fixed some bugs in my game Chihuahua Space Harvest.
I hope you enjoy it!

in the past year i started my journey as a game developer and this is my first jam. it was quite a challenge but i learned a lot. something that i need to work on is my music skills. so this is my game :

What do the players say about The Gluten Farm?
"The tractor hit sfx and vfx made me jump in my chair and shout each time I hit something. overall though I had a very good time!"
"Simple but fun! I like how the bundles being left behind create a little obstacle course as you go. Dodging the chickens gets pretty intense at the end, but I managed to pull it off. Also, dear lord was I not prepared for that chicken jumpscare! Overall, nice work!"
"Really appreciate the aesthetic cohesion. Overall a fun time."
"Pretty fun and challenging. I managed to beat it in 92 seconds, but unfortunately, I massacred one chicken. Overall, the game is very enjoyable."
"I have never been so nervous of chicken in my life. I could feel my hand shaking when trying to sneak near them. Simple but fun; great mood and comfortable controls. good job!"
"Very fun and addictive"
Will you beat 92 seconds for a 100% harvest, and only 1 chicken exploded??

MangoWorks Here! Me and my Team want to get 20 ratings to be in the ranking! if you could help us and play and rate that would be nice and we will also play and rate your game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/bugged
Hi! I won't be able to rate your games, as I'm not participating in the jam, but I'd love to give them a try and play them on stream! My twitch is https://www.twitch.tv/choccobons and it would be awesome if you could send me some links to your games here or in chat so I could give them a try and give you my thoughts! I'm not an expert in any way, shape or form but I think it would be a nice, chill time and I like giving small games a try! <3 I'll be starting the stream in about 5-10 minutes, so if you want to, feel free to stop by and chat with me!
Feeling dizzy 👽

Congrats to everyone!!

So, how did everyone do? Exhausted?
After hours of "work", here's my product, ready to be played, shared and rated! Link here : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/space-garden (this is a runnable Java file, I'll probably wrap it in the next few days).
I went for a "deck-builder" game, with the theme SPACE GARDENING! Because why not?
For once, development went quite smoothly. And I decided to use AI art generator to fill my lack of talent in this domain (if you feel unconfortable rating art, don't worry! You don't have to!). The mechanics are working, but i feel the game is far from being balanced. I'll probably work on that in the future...
Anyway, I hope you'll like it! Feel free to share your honest opinion on it!
And let me finish with : WELL DONE EVERYONE! Whether you finished your game or not, it is always great to try a new challenge!
