LD23 April 20–23, 2012

Yay

I’m in!

This time I will use Java and LWJGL. I hope it’s “artificial life” that wins. Or maybe “Explore the Universe”. Or maybe not the last one, because I would probably end up trying to do 0x10c 😛

Still in

I already did an “I’m in” but I wanted to share my LD23 blog and to wish everyone good luck for tomorrow!

Finally giving up my Ludum Dare virginity

Hey its alkane,

Engage LD#23 mode!

I’m in!

This weekend I’m DEFINITELY free, unlike last time!

Tools:

  • Visual Studio 2010 for delicious C++, coupled with SDL for input/audio/window-management and OpenGL for rendering.
  • Paint.NET / GraphicsGale for graphics…
  • SFXR for sounds and for music… I don’t know, is there an equivalent of SFXR for songs?! Otherwise I will impose my guitar playing on the world.

Good luck to all!

I’m in for my third LD

Will write in C++, use OpenGL, SDL, OpenAL. Target platforms will be Windows and Linux. I hope to cross-build for NaCl and Android later, but I wont make that before the weekend is over.

Declaration of boilerplate code: on GitHub

Tools that I know I will use:

* Editor : vim
* Graphics: gimp
* Sound effects: Audacity / SFXR

Good luck everyone!

Let’s do this

Getting into my first LD ever, hopefully something that will keep happening.

Chosen squad:

Visual Studio 2010, C++, SFML 2.0 with a side order of GIMP and SFXR

I’m in (finally)

Hi all!

This is going to be my first Ludum Dare. I’m ready (I hope) I’ve taken Monday off so I can recover, been shopping for snacks, checked code base over, and tested my tools. I think I’m ready to begin.

Code
C/C++ with OpenGL, SDL, OIS and OpenAL.
Using Visual Studio 11, Notepad++ and cmake.

These are wrapped up in my own library which can be found here. (Requires SDL 1.3, Glew, OIS, SOIL, OpenAL and ALUT). The framework berely supports 2D graphics, so you have been warned.

Graphics
Gimp

Audio
INudge, Bfxr and Audacity

Design
Posibily using some Lego as well as a design tool depending on the game.

I’M THE HELL IN

SEE YOU ON THE DAMN HELL ASS BATTLEFIELD

Also, don’t vote for exploration. Please. We already did that in LD 16.

WOOOO HOOOO

New to LD! I am in!

Hi y’all!,

This is the first LD compo I will be entering in. This is my second game jam all together. My first was the awesome Molyjam where I did a project on my own and got a write up in Giant Bomb and Rock Paper Shotgun  about my entry.

I will be using Unity3D for my engine and write it in C#.

I am looking forward to the fun even though I have to cut out a half day early due to prior obligations. Doah! :)

I’m in (original title right?)

So yeah.. I’m in

– Tools

java/PS/reason/bfxr

goodluck all!

:)

good luck everyone

hey there,

my first ld as well. dunno if i will be able to complete it, hope i can!

i will be using flash develop/flixel, photoshop for graphics and animations, sfxr for sound

Silverlight it is then.

For this weekends up and coming Ludum Dare I have decided to step away from XNA and try something different.  Partially this is because XNA excludes a segment of the review population, but more importantly its always good to try something new.

As such I have been hacking around with Silverlight a little this evening, specifically working through a great set of post on Christophe Geers’ Blog.

Based on the approach detailed in the blog I should be able to focus on the game aspect of LD rather than then engine aspect.

Assuming that everything aligns I will post the “engine” level code on Friday night prior to the competition starting.

We’re in – game jam

So,

We’re in – but as a family team this time – game jam.

So, we’ll be using:

Language: Java

Library: Slick2D

Sound: Audacity

IDE: Eclipse

Graphics: Paint.net

We’re doing this as a family, so we’ll be splitting up tasks in terms of coding, game design, game story, and graphics.

Last time, we finished the game, but we couldn’t get the java ant file figured out in order to build the jar and post it online.  We forgot to figure that out before we started!  (duh).

So, we’ll hopefully have a full web build – and really looking forward to it.

That’s awesome. I would get my family to participate with me, but I don’t think my cat walking all over the keyboard counts as programming.
