In, I am :D
I missed out on hte last one, but I am determined to make this one happen for me. So I am commiting the weekend to it!
Looking forward to it too!

I am fully prepared to make a kickass game next weekend !
It will be my fourth participation already, and unlike last time, I’m going for the compo and not the jam. I also plan on posting more regularly than usual, and hang around the IRC channel. I will probably also post more updates on Google+ (encircle me and tell me you want to be in my LD circle) or twitter. I will surely be doing a timelapse (even though I need to switch computers at some point during the weekend), and if you want music recommendations, you can see what I am listening to on my last.fm page.
As for the tools I’ll be using, I want to keep options open before the theme is announced, and could end up going 2D or 3D :
As usual I’ll strive for a cross-platform release right off the bat. I hope my experience with packaging issues will finally start to pay off. Also, I’m based in Belgium: I have seen at least 2 people mentionning the same thing, and I know at least another one. Maybe we could arrange a meetup place for future compos ? Cheers and good luck to everyone !
Coolies, I’ve got Saturday free now for sure!
Looks like I’ll be keeping it simple and hopefully fairly polished (hopefully) as it’s my first time.
Guess the main thing is to complete a game in the time so I’ll have to rein in my over-ambitiousness! So I guess I’ll be using the following:
Pen & Paper
Unity3d – Javascript
Photoshop CS3
Sfxr, Audacity, possibly Musagi if I can figure it out.
Milkshape 3d for some low poly models.
I have been a spectator of Ludum Dare for a fair while, and I have decided to actually participate this time around.
The weekend booked off of work, Snacks purchased to indulge on, themes being voted on. I is ready!
I will be entering the competition, the atmosphere seems a little more to my liking. Tools?
Programming: – C/C++ – Using a library I have worked on for LD. https://github.com/Allanis/LibD
Platform: – I write all applications under Debian, and strive for cross-platform compatibility. Expect Linux and Windows builds.
Graphics: – Gimp, Tiled, maybe some inkscape too.
Sound: – http://www.superflashbros.net/as3sfxr/ – Maybe some Audatious.
And with that. I’ll see you all on the other side.
I’m gonna take part in either the jam or the compo, depending on the magnitude of my game. Half my Sunday is busy.
Stuff I’ll use
-Chorus engine, my homemade engine based on C++, SDL & OpenGL (through GLEW). Probably gonna link tinyOAL for sound and Box2D for 2D physics. As far as I can tell, it should compile cross-platform, but I haven’t actually tried it yet
-Paint.net for graphics
-sfxr and Audacity for sound
-Blender or 3DS Max or something for models, if I’m going 3D
Also, thinking of accepting the Cat challenge.
Might even make something good this time.
Undecided on tools so far. I’ve got a few concepts kicking around but ultimately it’ll depend on what works with the theme.
Since this is LD’s anniversary though, I’ll definitely try and fit in a cake somewhere
This will be my second attempt at LD. My last one was a long time ago and since then I’ve been wanting to make time for it again.
I’ll most likely be using
Löve
Lua
Art and sound I haven’t figured out yet, but it will be 2D and I’ll probably use some of the tools linked on this site.
I’m excited (my girlfriend is not, but she already okayed it so too late now)
Signing on team Digital Apathy for the jam. First time, not sure how this will pan out. Families have been abandonded for the weekend, “daddy needs to code”. Let the funnies commence!
Although my last couple attempts to Ludumdare compos left me feeling miserable (because I didn’t finish / game wouldn’t load for everyone) – I’m going to give this another try.
My Development tools and libraries will be:
– FlashDevelop 4;
– SFXR (On iOS or ASFXR);
– FL Studio 10;
– Flash Professional CS4;
– and will try to get familiar with AXEL now, before the event starts (axgl.org, a Flixel-like library with Stage3D support);
I was contemplating to pick Starling, Genome2D, ND2D or some home-made small library, but from looking at AXEL’s source code, it looks like a very well written, clean, and easy to understand library.
Good luck to all jammers!
Although it looked like I was going to be overly swamped… Last one was such a blast I just had to make time for this one.
Going to be using XNA again, just to irk some people.
Just want to say that I REALLY like some of these themes coming out so far.
So here’s things. Space Assault is taking a long time as-is. I’m going to have to simplify the hell out of it to make it work.
This is informative for me, though. I’m realizing that I set my sights way too high for projects. I’m not sure what I’m communicating, I suppose.
I’ll… um… have something soon…
– Henry
It’s more than 3 days until the 48h compo, but the themes I’ve voted on so far have all been very interesting. I’m hoping for something that requires a lot of level design, maybe randomly generated even. It doesn’t really matter though, as the challenge may be even greater and therefore more fun if we get something unexpected and unusual. This being my first LD, I’ll be happy just to finish something and submit it, reviewing the games of others will be fun too I expect. Here’s my setup so far:
Best of luck everyone!
First time in the compo.
Tools:
-HTML5/AS3/Java depending on theme and mood
-Axel/Flixel/Slick2d/Some free JS library or plain js code
-Aptana/Eclipse/Notepad++
-GIMP, Paint.NET, PyxelEdit(looks very promising) or some other free editor
-Sound – something free or open source
GL HF
After failing to complete my last ludum dare, I’ve done a lot of prep this time round and I learned a lot about my previous failures. I’m hoping to get a game finished this time around.
The tools:
To better success this time round! W00t!
I’m going to upload my base code here before the contest starts, probably just a splash screen and an empty game state, ready to get started.
Howdy do
I shall be daring in this dare of yours
I’ll be using GameMaker Windows and Mac versions and Cfxr, because part-time I’m a moron
And although I call myself a musician, unfortunately I’m actually only a bassist, so I’ll probably be using a music generator. The world isn’t ready for an original composition by the great virtuoso that is Toastilus
Hi there!
I hope someone can read what I’m posting here, WordPress is too complicated for me -.-
Anyway, I’m going to participate on LD23, which will be my first LD, and I thought it would be nice to announce that someone of the other programmers may infect with the “Against-every-standards-code”-virus.
So, what I’m gonna use to create a more-or-less good game is:
Programming: Java using AWT or LWJGL
Graphics: GIMP
Sounds: sfxr/ Frinika for music
Well, I hope this compo will bring me new experiences and blah blah…….
I’m in!(Is that correct? I’m in?……)

Unless work kills me this week, I’m in. I’ll most likely build the game in haXe. I’ll probably take advantage of some of the libs I’ve written at my github account: https://github.com/thegoldenmule. That is all.
hoo boy..my first entry into this! I’ll see how I can do I guess.
Engine – Unity
Artwork – 3ds max, photoshop
Sound – Audacity and sfxr
Good luck everyone!
Trying my second Ludum Dare. To prove that I’ve learned absolutely nothing from the previous one, I’m going to have a shot at creating something with LÖVE which I haven’t used prior to playing around with it last weekend. Nothing like a bit of pressure.
Things I’m likely to use:
And probably random other utilities that I’ve forgotten exist. If tile maps are involved, I’ll probably use Tiled.
Roll on the weekend…
First Ludum Dare competition can’t wait.
