LD22 I’m In!
Well this is going to be my first Ludum Dare, and I’m looking forward to it.
Anyway, my list of what I’m going to use:
Editor: Notepad++
Library / Frameworks: Love2D
Graphics: Gimp / Graphics Gale
See you all in weekish

Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep my eyes open last night to wait for the theme announcement, so I went to bed.
I’ve just woken up, it’s 7 am, with just over 1 Day and 18 hours left and a theme of Alone.
I had no ideas for this one, so I’m going to have to think for bit. Lets see what I can do.
My second attempt at Ludum Dare, I last tried back in LD23, but never did finish.
This time I’ll be going simpler, and I’ll be trying with using Javascript and WebGL instead of Lua and Love.
Unfortunately though, I’ll be losing a few hours on the Saturday, prior engagements and all, but I’m going to give it a go 😀
and I’ve not even started yet. My sleeping brain didn’t really give me any ideas for the theme.
I may just have to make -a- game if nothing comes to me soon.
I’m also streaming my coding, not that there’s much going on, just visit:

Several hours wasted so far, because my texture coordinates don’t appear to be coming through to the shader, it would appear the shader always thinks they are (0,0). As far as I can tell my code is correct.. gah, so frustrating!
It would be greatly appreciated if any one has a spare moment to cast a fresh pair of eyes over everything..

So I’m in for the Jam, with a good friend of mine.
We’re deciding to use Phaser and write a HTML5 based game.
However, I may have done a silly mistake, such as, not really knowing how Phaser works.
Should still be fun though!
So for our jam entry we’ve been having good fun so far. Getting far too distracted with toying around with what we’ve created so far,.
Today’s goal is to take our base and actually start making it game like.
Our HTML5 / Phaser game is live deployed to: ludumdare.temporus.uk if you feel like taking a look.
Our three man team will be in for the jam.
This is our third attempt at ludumdare, and hoping to actually finish something this time.
We haven’t actually picked our technology yet, which we’ll do tonight when we all get round my place to discuss.
However for us, the theme announcement will be at 1am, so we’ll probably be sleeping and lose a few hours.
It’s always fun though, so looking forward to it.
A group of 3, 2 devs and an artist. Safe to say we are here for the Jam rather than the competition. (If that's still a thing)
If not, well, good excuse to make a game!
Going to give godot ago, already ran through the pong tutorial. So, hopefully, we shouldn't be stuck on weird collision edge cases for 6 hours.
So for our game, we have a bit of secondary objective. To create a simple PvP game that can be played in a little tournament at a small video games night thing at work we have coming up.
Since our previous Ludum Dares all failed due to not limiting the scope enough, we decided on doing a platform jumping game.
We've got the basics down, we think. We just need to add a few more mechanics to make it interesting, and somehow work the theme into it :P
Here's a screenshot:

While we didn't get all the mechanics we wanted in, but we did get the core mechanics there!
Meet platform pirates!

The Game Page is here where you can find a download.
Have to say, was pretty impressed with the godot engine. It was surprisingly easy to just get going with.
We're in for Ludum Dare 42! Joining the Jam again.
After successfully finishing a game, last time we took part. More optimistic we'll do the same this time!
Using Godot again as well, since we really enjoyed using it last time.
Time to have some fun!
