Gonna make a borderlands esque loot-shooter where you inventory space is tied to your hp.

Making a mobile vr fps with full locomotion required some thinking with controls, but I think we got them now nailed down. Tomorrow it is all about adding content as all the basic game mechanics are in.
The twist in our game is that your inventory is also your health. So you will lose your loot when you take damage and dies once you have no longer stuff in your bag.

Time to wake up in Europe and begin Ludum Dare. This is one the most inspiring themes from recent LDs, I really dig it.
I've got three ideas: - Mega Man like boss rush game where you have to sacrifice an ability before a boss. - Reverse clicker about crunching! More your work, the less you produce. - Time management game about work/social/well-being balance.
Most likely will go with Crunch Clicker! And try not to crunch too much myself. :)

You can crunch to your heart's content in my entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/crunch-clicker

My artist mixed Game Boy width & height and our background is now all glitched. :D

My Game Boy game has placeholder animations in!

Making Game Boy games are awesome as when the game bugs, instead of crashing, it turns into fine arts!

Dust off your Game Boy or boot up an emulator!
This LD we made a game for original Game Boy: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/heart-knight-1

I've made plenty of retro games using complex homebrew setups, but for this Ludum Dare I thought of mastering a new tool. GBStudio, easy to use Game boy game maker. I highly recommend giving it a go, if you want to do real retro games without the hassle of complex toolchain: https://www.gbstudio.dev/

My little game boy adventure of looping in arcade until you have reached all the high scores is getting ready slowly. Tomorrow will be more about assets, today I was setting up the systems and pipelines.
I am using GBStudio so game will work on real Game boy as well.

In my tiny game boy game you are stuck in a loop to conquer all the high scores of a back alley gaming arcade!
Don't worry about the income. Every day your mom gives you $3 to play some games again and again and again.
