LD 42 August 10–13, 2018

In it to win it!

We or rather I am definitely in!

Last time it was not my theme, apparently, this is always the case, anyhow hoping for a nice theme this time around.

My tools of choice will vary based on the type of game I am making.

2D Game: - Godot (GDScript or C#) - IDE: In engine code editor or VS 2017 - aseprite - Photoshop - Audacity - LMMS

3D Game: - Unreal Engine 4 (BP and C++) - IDE: VS 2017 - Blender - Quixel Suite 2 - Photoshop - Audacity - LMMS

Happy coding and have a fun jam! :)

2nd Time Lucky?

My last (and first) LD was LD38, and I managed to get to 138th in the "Fun" category for Pixel World, which I was incredibly pleased with! I'm hoping to get in the top 100 for something this time, and I've got a couple of ideas for dumb mechanics so hopefully I can pull it off

I use Unity, Pyxel Edit and probably something like bfxr for the music - and I'll potentially be hooking it up to Firebase for their shiny new machine learning stuff if the theme fits

I'm going to stream it this time, I was happy with the timelapse I did for the last one but I think streaming is the way forward. I'll put the link on my Twitter, so make sure you give me a follow!

Get ready for Ludum Dare 42, at a special time: 3 hours early!

Hey folks! It's time to get ready for Ludum Dare 42!

By request, our 42nd event will be taking place at a special time: 3 hours early! See the countdown clock in the sidebar for help figuring out when that is in your timezone. Typically Ludum Dare events start at 6 PM PDT/9 PM EDT/01:00 GMT, but this one is starting 3 hours earlier than that at 3 PM PDT/6 PM EDT/22:00 GMT. See the news for more details.

Theme Selection is on now. At the time of this writing Theme Suggestions are open, with the Theme Slaughter round scheduled to start on Sunday. Stay tuned.

That's it for now. We'll see you soon!

1st Game Jam

Man, I'm not sure if I should be worried about what I am getting in to, but, I can let my mind rest, knowing that I already suffer from severe sleep deprivation. XD

2nd Ludem Dare (compo)

Ive asked off of work to make room for this. I may or may not get to participate, because college is starting soon. Lets hope for the best!

1st Game Jam

hmm…what to tell? never made a game. hope it will be a nice little thingy.

I am very much in

This time I'll be using Godot for the first time in a jam, hopefully It'll go well. And this time I'm even more hyped. Honestly I already can't sleep hahah.

First Ludum Dare :)

Been watching several YouTubers do these guess its time I give it a try. Unity is my go-to engine been using it for 5 years but if the theme fits I think I'll try practicing more java!

Going for my second run

I missed the last two, but since #42 starts on my birthday that must be a good sign :P

Would you guys have anything against the use of PICO-8?

I'm just worrying that since it's paid software, some people might have something against me using it. I know previous entries have used it, but would you guys be cool with me using it, or would you rather me use something else, like Love2D?

First online game jam!

I have seen many you-tubers do this jam and finally found a friend to do the jam with me! I will be doing the jam with Cdogg4203 and cant wait to see what everyone makes! Good luck and have fun!

Btw we could use a graphics designer. 2D or 3D. Reply here if you want to join our team.

1st Game Jam!

I am not really a great "game maker", so I hope this game jam will be a good opportunity to learn a lot. Good luck everyone!

Typo

So... Right now, I tried to type gst, my alias for git status.

When I looked at the screen, it was written fart.
