LD 40 December 1–4, 2017

First LD

Hey all,

I just learned about Ludum Dare earlier this year and I'm excited to be participating for the first time. I dipped my toes in the game jam jacuzzi earlier this year with Alakajam. For Alakajam I made a game where you fed a cat different objects, which would make the cat shit gold coins that could be used to buy new objects to feed the cat, which would make the cat shit more coins, et cetera ad nauseum. I didn't finish the feed-cat-get-gold-coin-shit game (nor did I come up with a suitable name) in time to meet the Alakajam deadline, but I learned a ton in making it.

I'm hoping to find time to produce something simple but complete for LD.

I plan on using Unity, Blender, Gimp, and Ableton if I have time to make music.

Good luck all!

My first LD!

It's the first time for my LD.And i'm a program newbie .

TOOLS: Engine : Construct2; Art : Photoshop; Audio : SFXR;

Lemme get your attention

I’m in for my first ever game jam, been working with games for about a year and am excited for the challenge! Good luck to all!

  • Unity
  • Piskel
  • Bosca Ceoil
  • probably more

I also might stream on twitch, so look out for that!

I'm in! My 4th Loodem Dah'rey!

Wife and kid out of the house - Check. Energy drinks and snacks ready - Check. Latest Unity patch installed - Check. Now I just hope I get some inspiration out of the theme :)

Second try

This will be my second Ludum Dare. I participated in the LD39 Compo with my game Delivery Drain but this time around I will be working with my brother in the Jam. We don't have a concrete plan but we want to make something in 3D. Unity, Blender, Gimp, FL Studio and BFXR will be the majority of the tools that we use. We will probably build it for html5 and host it on my website like last time.

Some of the themes reminded us of some rough game ideas that we've had in the past. If we're lucky we might get a chance to finally build one of them. Does anybody else use Ludum Dare as an excuse to try old game ideas or does everyone prefer to come up with a new idea on the spot?

All In!

Thought it was time I stop lurking and start participating. Amateur in terms of programming, garbage in most other aspects but I'm so excited to actually make something. I've even taken time of work just to fully commit to this Ludum Dare. Haven't decided if I'll go for the Compo or the Jam yet but programs I'll be using are: - Unity (new to Unity so might panic and swap back to GameMaker half way through) - Paint.net - BFXR - Audacity - Blender

Best of luck everyone, hope we all have a good time!

First time for everything!

I first heard of the Ludum Dare years ago, but LD39 was the first I really looked at. It seemed really cool! So I put LD40 on my calendar.

I think I'm going to give it a shot. I've never really made a complete game before, so we'll see how it goes!

Currently, the plan is to use the Rust programming language, along with GIMP/Blender, and perhaps Audacity for asset creation.

My Second Ludum Dare

Last time I made this poop of a game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/power-hog

But it was an amazing experience.

I hope to make something better this time.

My first Ludum Dare

This is the first LD I will be participating in. I have played many great games from previous editions and got inspired to try and make something on my own.

Initially I was going to use SDL2, but the development time is rather slow (for me :D) , so I think I will just use Game Maker 1.4. I also use Aseprite for assets and bfxr + renoise for sounds.

Good luck, everyone!

I'm In!

I'll be participating in LD40 Compo!

I'm currently polishing up my game framework NICO with some nicer audio functionality which should make it easier to quickly make SFX during the compo.

I'll be working with: * NICO my game framework https://github.com/ftsf/nico (used for the past few LDs and some other projects) * aseprite my favourite sprite editor * tiled tile map editor if necessary * GIMP maybe * LSDJ for music * PICO-8 for SFX if my own thing doesn't turn out

Hope I can make something new and fun =)

I'm in!

This will be my first LD jam, and I hope I'm able to push myself through it. I have a huge project due for one of my classes on Monday, so I may have to use down time to program that assignment too. Woo.

I plan to use: - Unity3D - Blender/GIMP/Paint.net - Bosca Ceoil (hopefully, may resort to FL Studio if not) - Lots and lots of coffee and energy drinks

I wish everyone best of luck with the compo and jam!

After an extended hiatus...

...I will be participating in Ludum Dare again! I used to participate in LD regularly and also just develop year-round in my free time, but I lost some of my fire a couple of years ago and stopped making games entirely. Well, a bit of that fire has rekindled now, so I'll see what I can do.

Specs:

Language: JavaScript (I used to use Java primarily, but recently have become quite attached to JavaScript through my job)

Engine: Three.js (This is my first time using three.js, so hopefully things go alright)

Modelling: Blender (Of course)

Music: FL Studio (In previous jams my music was one of the better-rated categories for my games, so I played around a bit the other day to get a feel for the controls again; I totally suck now  )

Sound Effects: ~~BFXR~~ SFXR (I used to use BFXR, but I switched to Ubuntu a while ago and apparently BFXR only works on Windows and Mac...)

Ballmer's Peak Generator: Lagunitas Pilsener

Usually my games are pretty mechanically light and I spend 80% of the compo making assets and designing levels. I think this time I might focus more on having interesting gameplay mechanics though.

Good luck everyone! I'll see you at the end, sleep deprived and partially hallucinating.

Getting Ready!

I'm getting ready for Ludum Dare once again. If my teammember joins, we should knock out something reasonably interesting... I hope?

Going to be using my FDZmini stuff again, a 'mostly standard JS block' of code I use for all the Ludum Dare's until I find a JS engine I like. :)

http://gwbloom.com/dev/games/FDZvers/FDZmini-0.7.3/

(Basically everything in the FDZ folder.)

I'm In!

I can't wait for LD! It's gonna be good!

I plan to use: - Game Maker: Studio - Fruity Loops - Piskel

Here we go again

This will be my second Ludum Dare. I really had fun the last time. Hopefully I can improve on my scoring this time.

The tools I'll be using: - Game Maker 2 - Aseprite - Photoshop - Bosca Ceoil

I'm in! First LDJam!

Hey! I'm finally joining the jam for the first time. I've wanted to for years, but I've never really been able to until now. I'm not that awesome of a dev, but hopefully I can throw something together before the Jam deadline.

I'll be using Unity, Aseprite, Bfxr, and Bosca Ceoil.

I'm in

It's the big one? When I upload my starting code, it'll be here https://github.com/WilliamBundy/ld40-base

A little prejam doodling

Decided to do a little doodling in Pyxel Edit since I haven't been pixeling much lately! froggy.png His name is Winston.

Be kind, it's not his fault he always looks angry (it's mine). Planning to use Pyxel Edit for graphics, Sublime Text 3 for coding, and Github for my version control.

Happy jamming everyone!

Strawpoll of themes

Which theme you prefer ? http://www.strawpoll.me/14513368/r

(It's not my strawpoll)

We're in! This is our first Ludem Dare!

@dalma and I are doing our first Ludem Dare.

Tools we will be using

  • Language: Haxe
  • Music Software: Bosca Ceoil
  • Sound Effects: BFXR
  • Graphics: Pen and Paper / Hexels
  • Framework: Pongo https://github.com/PongoEngine

We look forward to joining the aliens in space.

Late Decision!

Just decided to join this Ludum Dare. This will be my second one and I hope I can use my knowledge from the first to constructively improve my final product this time. I will be using Unity for the most part, with Blender for 3d modeling, Photoshop for texturing and graphics, and LMMS for music (likely done by a friend).

Super Pumped

Super excited to participate in another Ludum Dare! This is my 5th time participating in the jam. I work in a group of three, Programmer, Artist and Composer.

You can check out some of our work, and other little projects here: https://tyranosaw.itch.io/

In any case, this is what we are using: - Unity 2017 - Piskel - Fl Studios

Anyways, Good luck everyone. Have fun jamming!!

I'm in for the 6th time

It's been two years since my last Ludum Dare. I'm kinda rusty, but we'll see.

I will be using C++14 with SFML. I may also use one of my custom game starter lib thingy (this one, or maybe that one). As usual I'll be developping on linux ad then export the result on windows. I will be using gimp, inkscape, audacity, my microphone, my banjo and maybe some other software for the music if needed.

Good luck to every one!

I'm Probably In

I'll be using Unity 2D, and maybe Pyxel Edit and Tiled. The last Ludum Dare that I participated in was #32. It seems that the website has changed a bunch since then.

Ready To Jam!

I've done Game Jams before, but this will be my first Ludum Dare Jam!

I will be the Developer for our game, Jamming with 2 excellent Artists! @jamoor @videojames

Here is the software we'll be using:

  • Unity Engine
  • Aseprite
  • FL Studio
  • Domino's Pizza USA App

Looking forward to a fun weekend of building something awesome with some friends and hopefully not eating too unhealthily along the way.

Basic 3D Modelling Tool

If like me, you're not an artist and you've never had the time nor inclination to drill the 36 million Blender keyboard shortcuts into your brain, you might find some tools that have been shipping with Windows 10 lately quite useful.

  • 3D Builder
  • Paint 3D

Both have different strengths depending on what sort of shape/design you're aiming for. Both can export in .obj format for use in Unity, complete with textures. I found Paint3D had more flexibility, allowing you to literally draw shapes and extrude them into 3D, then manipulate them. You can paint directly onto the object with a range of brushes. No custom textures, but that's where 3D builder comes in.

Paint3D doesn't tend to export right straight into Unity, so I exported in .3mf format, imported into 3D builder, added any textures I wanted and then exported to .obj format from there. As usual you'll need to set their scale to 100 or 1000.

Once you've exported more than one model into Unity their materials will tend to get jumbled up, so it's just a question of finding the right material in the folder and dragging it into the right slot in the materials list in the inspector. A bit of a pain but quicker than scrabbling around in Blender.

I made this little chap in about 5 minutes, which would have taken me several ice ages in Blender.

bee.JPG

I'm in - first jam here.

Using UnityEngine

include "Marmoset Hexels 3"

include "FL Studio 11"

include "Pizza"

First time on this kind of event. Good Luck to all jammers.

Cheers!

It's this weekend?! S***!

Didn't realise LD40 was this weekend until I checked just now. Ah well, guess I'll be going for a simple entry this time.

At least the topics look interesting.

I'll be using: - Unity (3d or 2d depending on the theme); - Adobe Photoshop; - Adobe Audition;

Let's see what I can come up with.

There's a first time for everything

Finally getting the chance to take the plunge.

Programs being used: Unity, Photoshop, Maya, FL Studio.

Looking forward to a good time even if I fail under the time crunch.

Good luck to everyone participating.

ExoTeam's here!

Hey buddies! We wish you your best jam ever!

We are three French dev ready for their first LD.

Is there any game artist who would wish to join us? =D

I'm in - second try.

First went not so good, I'll try my best this time. I will be using Unity + blender/photoshop (we'll see). Good luck everyone!

Any tips for first time jammers?

A team of one gamedev with some experience and two beginner artists here excited for our first game jam. We'll be probably using less known jMonkeyEngine as our engine and Blender for art. Do you have any tips for beginners to share?

Here we go!

I'm in for the second time. I will participate in the jam. First time wen't really bad. I were starting to work on way too big projects so it ended with me doing a game in around five hours just to have something. Let's hope i've learnt from my mistakes and will be able to do something fun this time.

I will use: Unity, Visual studios, Photoshop, Blender

And maybye something more if needed...

Good look to you all!

I'm in for LD40

Pretty excited to do Ludum Dare again. This time I will be submitting solo.

I will be creating a game in Unity and I will use tools like Photoshop, Blender, Bfxr, and Audacity to create all the art and sounds needed.

I did some warmup this week that left me with some great architectural ideas that should minimise bugs and decrease my frustration. But we will see!

To everyone else participating: Good luck and have fun!

First Jam

After years of putting it off, this will be my first LD. I'll be using Game maker and developing solo. Best of luck to you all

I'm in!

I'm in! This will be my 21st LD. My Toolset:

  • IDE: Intellij, Visual Studio
  • Engine: libGDX, Unreal Engine 4
  • Sound: Bfxr, Audacity
  • Graphics: Blender, GIMP
  • Music: Abundant Music, Timidity

Good luck everyone!

I'm in.

I'm in. First time. I started doing jams at the beginning of this year and I'm quite addicted now. Haven't got a great deal of time, Sunday morning and Tuesday afternoon, but that should be enough time if I limit my scope... Wait! I've just had an idea for an epic rpg space western...

Using: Java Eclipse IDE, SFXR/BFXR, Paint, Audacity/Beepbox.

I'm in for LD40

First LD for me. No clue how to sign up but I see everyone posting that they're in so here's my I'm In too. 😀 Very excited to learn what the theme is. Best of luck to everyone and looking forward to seeing what everyone makes. Cheers!

I'm In!

Well after fighting the ldjam.com login and having to make a new account, I'm in! I'll most likely be using Unity and whatever ancillary tools I need. I don't see me making anything complex enough to require an external library.

I'm in!

Woke up this morning to find this on my calendar! Completely unexpected. As a Solo team I will be using libGDX most likely, as well as sfxr, Audacity, and Gimp. What worked for me last time was writing down ideas from the themes to be voted before the theme reveal, and I highly recommend others do the same! Much easier to start with inspiration!

I'm in too

This will be my first solo mission to create a game here. I'll do my best. Curious as to whether I actually Am able to pull it off xD We'll see. Oh right, I have gamemaker 2 here so I'll do something with that.

I'm in! Hope you are too.

Hi! Happy to be here, happy to make games. Themes are awesome. Good luck everyone!

I'm in!

This will be my first jam and I'm so excited! :D Unfortunately I have to work in between times (you know, like, getting paid for doing stuff you wouldn't do if you didn't get paid...), but I hope my team will still have a lot of fun.

Maybe in?

Last theme was disappointing, so I guess we could participate, but it'll depend on democracy being a good thing for once. <_< Corona SDK, Photoshop, bfxr, all the usual stuff. Good luck to everyone.

Write your game in Go

Here we go again! I'm in!

imin40.gif

My usual setup: Game Maker Studio 1.4 and Maschine

BOOM

5th time in a row (and ever)

Previous 4 are here

https://dietzribi.itch.io/

I'm in! LD 40!

Second time doing LD i will do my best to create a better game than my last (had a lot of bugs :P)

Will be using

  • Monogame or Unity (depends on theme)
  • Krita or Blender for art (depends on theme)
  • bfxr for sound

First LD Jam! \o/

Hey, it's my first time participating in the LD Jam! I'm joining with some friends and we are all from Brazil. o/ Hope we have a great time in this jam, as we don't have the slightest idea of what we'll gonna do.

Good work for everybody!

I'm in!!!

I'm in. My setup: - Unity 5 - Paint.net - Blender (For 3D models if needed) - Language: C#

First Ludum Dare

Hello, i'm trying this for the first time with 2 friends ! We are from France :)

wooh COMPO this time!

Also trying out some new stuff, using HTML5 and Javascript for the first time.

Why use the stuff I already understand when I can spend half the time trying to figure out how to use a new library instead! >=D

Such Ludum

Very dare. Much first try. wow!

Here we go! LD40 compo!

Third time participating. I'll be streaming over on https://twitch.tv/binaryspark

Tools of the trade: - Unity 2017.2 - Paint.NET - AssetForge by Kenney - bfxr, maybe, though I'm awful at using it - a few cans of energy drink

HYPE!

Newbie starting in the Compo xD

Hey guys,

As I usually have a hard time motivating myself to finish a project in my spare time next to my job as an (C#) application developer, I'll try to use the Ludum Dare Compo to make my first "kind-of-finished" game during the weekend. After playing around a tiny bit with Unity and Unreal Engine, I now settled with a bit of a "different" toolset, which I started to look at during the past 1-2 weeks for a couple of hours:

  • GoDot Engine
  • Aseprite
  • maybe Rytmik Studio (no clue how to use it)

So, as a complete newbie I'm excited to see how far I get and if it will result in something playable, and how ugly it will look as I'm also just getting started with pixel art and am like 1/10th into the tutorial lessons and have no talent for art xD

I'm also thinking of streaming my progress, but no promises right now ;)

If I'll stream, you can see me here, probably brabbling something in german:

https://www.twitch.tv/compufreak345

P.S.: I'll have a bit of a late start as I'll not start right at 3 AM here in Germany, it will be more somewhere between 10 and 12 ;)

/Edit: Just read of "Bfxr",maybe I'll give this a try as an alternative to Rytmik Studio ;)

Get HYPED!

After an amazing LD39 I'm really looking forward to this one!

Toolset: - GameMaker Studio 2 - beepbox.co and FamiTracker - Aseprite - bfxr

Also I hope I'll find more time to play everyone's games :D

Here we go again!

The big Four Zero is upon us, and before it officially begins we must prepare for the battle ahead.

will be using Javascript and any open source tools I run across to make assets.

Good luck to all

I have no idea what I am doing

noidea.jpg

I'm in.

I will try to make an online multiplayer game if theme allow it. Maybe it's a very bad idea but I must try.

  • Haxe

  • Haxeflixel

  • Pyxel Edit

  • Bfxr or else for sound

  • Base code : https://github.com/boorik/flixel-websocket-sample.git

Have fun!

First game jam

First time doing a game jam, nice project for the weekend Setup: - YoYo Game Studio, or, Panda3D as my game engine (using C++, or, Python) - Paint.Net and Paint3D for any visuals - Tracktion T6 for any music

LD 40 - I am in

Featuring my SO, we shall smash this LD. :D

Plan is to use Nim/Nico (https://github.com/ftsf/nico).

Hello LD

I come from the year 2027 where gamejams are banned and the only permitted form of recreation is cybermurder. I have travelled back in time by opening 1024 tabs in Chrome to learn your gamejammly ways; that I may return to the future with this forbidden knowledge and topple the beneviolent hyper AI that rules the planet. Wish me luckmaxresdefault.jpg

First timer here

Hey everyone!

This is my first time participating in Ludum Dare. Also this is my first time participating in Jam this short, in my previous Jams I was given a week or a month to work. I hope I'll make a good game fast enough.

My usual tools for work: * Unity as main Game Engine * Audacity to edit SFXs * GIMP to make very simple art * Chrome to access asset stores, wikis, docs e.t.c. * My brain to come up with an idea, rush into work, be distracted by something, be distracted by something again, and again, and again. that useless brain...

Also trying to persuade my friend to join. He's good sound designer and composer.

Happy Jamming everyone!

P.S. Any official Ludum Dare Discord server out there?

I'm in for the second time!

I'm really excited for this LD . Since my first time (in LD37) I really wanted to participate again. Now almost one year later I can!

I'll be streaming it at: https://www.twitch.tv/khaktos (my first time streaming coding )

Stuff I'll be using: * Unity * paint.NET * Audacity * Blender (if 3D) * Piskel (if 2D)

Here is a funny emoji :robot:

Hi there !

I'm in for something even more improvised and chaotic :x Cheers ! Have fnu !

I'm in for the third time!

I plan to use:

  • Unity
  • Bfxr
  • Bosca Ceoil or Sunvox
  • Piskel
  • Blender

Good luck everyone!

Here i go again but this time alone

YEAH IM IN but this time ill do the COMPO

My Theme Votes : https://imgur.com/a/gFZAj

here we go again

Better luck this time?

If you was in LD39, you might have seen a few of my posts, things seemed like they were going well. But I ran out of time because of a personal issue. That was my first ever game jam and I failed. I spent most of my time fixing a bug with the Keypad, if I had just completed that, I would've been able to publish it!

This time I hope to do good. I'm working with someone else, since LD39 my skills have since refined and grown, I have all the faith in Me and OnlySimple. Can't wait till it starts! 14H 26M 40S

First but no last

Hello ladies and gentleman and another beigns. This will be my first time participating in a jam and I'm very excited. I'm hasn't too much experience in game development, just a few months "playing" with Unity, but I'll do my best effort to finish a game. Nothing more to say besides wishing good luck to all participants.

My first jam

Hi, i will try do something in Compo. I use GIMP, Blender and Unity! Maybe record some funny sounds with the microphone ahah!

Hello World!

Hi! I'm a programmer(not a good one yet) and this is going to be my first attempt at a ludum dare! I don't expect to win at all, I'll be happy if i'm able to submit something on time. Can anyone recommend software to make a simple tune so my game won't be just sound effects? Thanks and good luck everyone! :D

Yet another post...

I don't like to spam if I have nothing to share that could be of interest. I sometimes stream on Twitch and might stream again for LD40.

https://www.twitch.tv/bigjigglyproductions

Joining the Jam!

This'll be my first Ludum Dare and I don't really expect to achieve that much, but I'm pretty excited anyway!

The toolset I'll be using: - Game Maker Studio 2 (w/ GMLive.gml and my own toolbox of scripts) - Aseprite - (probably) Beepbox (or just something else 'cause my music skill is lvl -1) - jfxr

I am in, for 4th time :)

Plan to use:

Language and Framework: Javascript ES6 + PhaserCE 2.9.2

IDE: VsCode

Graphics: Photoshop, PyxelEdit, Unity3D for 3D modeling and animations

Sounds: Mic and audacity

In it to win it!

Or not. Visual Novel creator hoping to make something different this time around. Should be posting stuff on Twitter @yojammerjammer.

LD40 we are in

IN FOR LD40... going for the jam. Not sure I need to do a hello world post or something. A tad confused last LD I was in was 24 I think... #LD40

My first Ludum Dare!

As the title says, LD40 will be my first Ludum Dare (and even my first game jam). I'm very much a beginner at like every aspect of game design but I want to try anyway :) I'll be using Gamemaker Studio 2, Aseprite and some free music program for music. Never even really made music before so this jam is going to be pure chaos, but whatever :P Good luck everyone with their games!

Let's Go

Hopefully I'll finish a proper quality game this time :D

I am what the kids these days refer to as "In"

Who needs a normal sleep schedule anyways? They're as overrated as actually touching the game engine you intend to use for game jams in between said jams.

Hopefully everything I've learned about UDK from A Hat In Time modding over the past month won't get in the way as I blow the quarter-year's worth of dust off of Unity for the umpteenth time. Should be fine though, I've got a pretty good idea of the kind of game I wanna ~~shoehorn into the theme~~ make, and it should be simple enough to pull off and polish for compo.

But hey, even if everything goes spectacularly wrong and my entry crashes and burns, at least I'll still have everyone else's awesome entries to look forward to. :hugging:

(Quick aside, if anyone has any good, relatively obscure chiptune albums to recommend, I'd love some links in the comments)

I might be "in"

Might be in. Have to see. I want to be in. These things always seem to happen on the busiest of weekends :)

Welp, here we go again!

Last year didn't go so well, however I'm much more determined this time! Going to try for 2 days!

First Ludum Dare

First Ludum Dare. I don't know what to expect.

May be in

Title

First Jam - Looking Forward To It!

This is going to be the first game jam I participate in, and have been looking forward to it for months! I'm not quite ready for the comp portion of LD, but I'm hoping I will be at a point to do so for LD41. I'll be working on the Jam with a few friends.

Personally I will be using the following tools: * Unity 2D - First time working in C#, so this is going to be interesting. * Affinity Photo * Hexels 3

I wish everyone the best of luck!

Here we are

## Hi everyone !

* I hope you're ready for this, because I'm ! ~~not.~~ *

I've already created games in GameJam context before, but...

  • Yep, that's my first LD.
  • Because I'm stupid, I want to do it in C++ language and alone :poop:
  • For sure, I don't have many time this week-end.

Whatever, I think I can create something small but fun with SFML library

See you later to check what my 'game' becomes ! :grimacing:

Special thanks to @zephyrraine :robot: for the stimulation.

=> Don't forget to follow his project for this LD @Sand-Gardeners

competition target which platform ?

hi it is my first one here so i want to know which platform the game should target ? pc - mobile ?

another question should i share my source code ?

I'm in!

This is my second time participating, and I hope to get something better done.

(and I also hope for less server slowdown during the submission period...)

Good luck to all the participants and big thanks for the people who host this jam time after time!

I'm in, at least for a very short time!

I'm In, yay, my second LD

Will not have much time as have things already planned, but will try to finish something super super small and fun.

Will be using: * Unity 3D * Affinity Designer * Affinity Photo

Yay!

Waddup

Looks like i got time to join this jam :tada: Gonna try something new and make a game with Lumberyard, lets see how it goes

My Tools + Basecode

Here's my basecode for this Ludum Dare: http://storage.electricsquirrel.net/LudumDare/2D%20Platformer%20Base%20Code.zip

It's very similar to last time in appearance but under the hood it's all new and much better.

I'll be using Unity 2017 as my primary tool, along with Visual Studio as my coding IDE. I'll be using BFXR for sound effects, and Audacity if I need to tweak them. For Art it's Paint.NET for pixel art and Inkscape for vectors. Blender if I do anything 3D which I probably won't. All free tools! Thank you, tool developers! You're the real heroes.

Only 13 hours left!

Honestly, I'm scared. But this should be interesting.

I'm In

Last time was a huge failure so this time I will make something playable. do-yoda-1.gif

I think I'm in!

Let's hope life won't get in the way this time :)

I'll be using https://github.com/oakes/play-cljs since I kind of fallen in love with Clojure recently.

Biggest challenge will be to keep it simple

I'm in!

This is my third Ludum Dare and I'm disappointed with the last one I tried so maybe I 'll do better this time

Either I will or I won't, so it's a 50/50 chance!

Any tips

i Dont have any idea of whats about to go down. Any tips

Something something games

  • Game Maker Studio 2
  • Aseprite
  • Something with music I dunno

Let's make this happen!
I've set a personal goal this time: Don't waste my entire weekend on a game I'm not going to submit. Simple, eh?

I'm in!

Alright, I'm in. And excited. Let's do this! Tools are pretty much the same as last time, Game Maker Studio 2, PyxelEdit and Marmoset Hexels for Graphics and BFXR/FL Studio 12 for music and sound. Good luck to everyone, lets have an awesome jam!

I'm in for the 12th time in a row!

And like the last 5 times I'll be doing a VR entry using SteamVR and Unity. :D!

Main focus will be running on a Vive + Vive controllers, will see if I can get around to working out a decent Rift control scheme, it'll "just work" on Windows MR headsets.

After that I'll probably spin up my Knuckles controllers and add individual finger control assuming my game gets to have rigged/animated hands.

My last two entries I used my knuckles as the base control method which made it a little less than ideal for Vive controllers.

Gonna fix that this time!

3D modelling: Maya LT

Game making: Unity

I won't really need textures since I generally just use vertex colors in Maya to color my stuff.

I've also got a Photon-based VR Multiplayer framework ready incase I find that fits the theme. Multiplayer VR is awesome!

Also: No teleportation locomotion! It's unoriginal and limits design, fits some games but not mine. No touchpad locomotion either because it's shit. Don't like sliding.

First Time

It's my first time.

Unity3D, PhotoShop cs6, Blender.
