LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

Looks Like I’m doing this again

Well its a new year, a new Ludum Dare, a new website, and hopefully not a new “switch to Unity on Saturday” game. I will be using essentially the same tools as last time with a few changes, I hope to finally complete a game not using Unity this time. Wish me luck!

IDE: Eclipse

Theme: Sublime Text Monokai Extended

Language: Java

Graphics: LWJGL (OpenGL)

Other Libraries: JOML, maybe JBox2D

Art: Aseprite, Paint.net, Pyxel, Tiled

Music: This is where I struggle, probably a combination of sfxr, boscaceoil.net, FLS, and recorded sounds

Timelapse: Chronolapse

Streaming: OBS

Good Luck and happy 15th anniversary!

I’m also in

I’m in! This will be my 4th Ludum Dare (also, in a row). I finally finished my first LD with LD37 so I’m hoping to continue that trend!

Using GameMakerStudio 2 again, w/Aseprite.

Not sure what for Audio, but I don’t generally get that far 😉

I’m in….but also a question

Quick question about the compo. If we are struggling with a certain part in our code, and have to look up a tutorial or something (I still struggle with some of the more complex coding elements), does it still count as our code or do we have to then enter the Jam, rather than the compo.

Thanks

That’s totally fine for the compo – learning like that is the best part of Ludum Dare, and we all need to look things up sometimes.

I’m In! (Part 2)

I’m still in! That hasn’t changed, but I thought I should post my tools… for some reason.
Self-Made Engine (Based on Tutorials by TheCherno): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BywBvsZC4fsKaWxzSmNDbDZtdzA
Programming: Java, Eclipse
Music: FL Studio 12, Audacity
Art: Photoshop, Possible Aseprite
And that’s all. I’m excited.

I’m In!

I’m in for the compo!

Will be using Unity, VS, GIMP, and FLStudio.

We are in!

It will be our 3rd time this one.

How most Ludum Dares usually go for me, trying stick to a far tighter schedule this time.

I will be using my simple HTML5 framework that I’ve been using for the last few compos: https://github.com/fullmontis/magic

I will be making all the music and graphics by myself.

I expect to do a mess and have a lot of fun.

The game will be available on my itch page when finished: https://fullmontis.itch.io/

Good luck everyone

12th LD in a row!

It is finally LD-time and as tradition by now, I’ve invited a whole bunch of friends to come join me.

We’ll be making the game in Unity but beyond that it really depends on who shows up what tools we’ll be using and how we’ll tackle the theme.

I must warn you though. If you vote “Death is only the Beginning” to win, we might just have to do a game about animal carcasses and decomposing them.

I’ve started collecting possibly reusable code from previous endeavors in a small repo.

https://github.com/local-minimum/LM-Pack

And we might use it. Feel free to do grab it if you like it.

Good luck everyone and remember to keep the scope small. And by small, I do mean even smaller than that!

I’m in!

I’ve been waiting to see these kind of posts on the other site…!

returning for a fourth time with a small team.

Myself – Alexis

I’ll be doing majority of game mechanic coding, and working along side the other members for level design and asset creation.

Quentin from Studio Hiro

He’s our lead artist and will be responsible for spriting, map development, and assisting in level design

Harlan – my boyfriend and his brother Ricky

The two of them will be responsible for creating the game’s soundtrack.

We have a STRONG idea of what we’re going to make based on the themes so far; but we’re holding off anything further until the theme is released!

Software:

Unity 5

PhotoshopCC

FLStudio 12

Monodevelop (unless I somehow get my hands on visual studio…)

Super excited for this one!!!

Hey, my first time also! Good luck, and don’t run out of coffee!

I’m in (probably.)

I am going to make a tentative commitment to completing a game this weekend. Tools may or may not include: My Xubuntu laptop, an iPad with various music apps, Visual Studio Code, Ren’Py, Krita, Audacity, and maybe my electric upright bass. We’ll see what happens.

Let (hopefully) do this…

As always, I’m collating with the genius SkullPixel to make some music for him. Can’t wait to hear the theme, and get started.

Good Luck!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say we are super excited to get started today (US time) on this amazing game jam.

Good luck to everyone!

Ben :)
