I am in!

I am so excited to build a game this weekend! I am going to use some base code of my own to store global high scores. I can’t wait to see who gets the highest score. Base code can be found here: https://github.com/CodeChomper/HighScoreBaseCode

We’re in!

For the first time, I’ll be taking part in Ludum Dare not alone, but in a team. Me and my long-time friend, Abaddon, Behemkot or whatever name he’s going by now, will be joining Ludum Dare 38 as “Drifting in Yellow”.

Our tools will be:

  • LÖVE
  • GIMP
  • Blender
  • bfxr (it’s better than sfxr)
  • … that’s it?
  • It’s not a lot.
  • No pizza or coffee for me this time.
  • Just lots of water and healthy food.

Second time doing a LD jam, and hopefully little better than last time.

I’m not sure what engine I’ll be using this time, depends on the theme.

Engine: Probably unity, otherwise self made

Visual: Gimp, ms paint, blender

Audio: lmms, audacity, fruity loops

This time I’ll try to focus more on the gameplay aspect, that was kinda left out last time 😀

I might try something new this time tho. Maybe i’ll be using Unity, but maybe i just stick to regular old Game Maker.

I’m in for my 8th time! Ludum dare 39 will be my 3 year mark, which is kinda crazy! :0

This time I’ll be using:

  • love2d with some base code and libraries
  • sublime text 3
  • bfxr for sound effects
  • reaper for music
  • aseprite for art
  • candy for teeth
  • coffee for brain

I feel very well prepared, and I’m gonna have a great time!

I will post some progress here, but mostly on twitter.

Yes… This will be a nice weekend!
Last 3 LD’s I did not finish (did not really participate) because I had so much “non Ludum Dare” stuff to do…
But this time I blocked the whole weekend…

First day was nice… We created some prototypes in the beginning and focused afterwards on one theme and we stuck with it 😉

The Game = ( [Pixelart + Screenshake + Dash] + jam theme ) * coffe;

Engine = Unity

Art = AdobePhotoshop

Audio = FruitLoops, Audacity

Just a quick post to say that I’ll be participating in Ludum Dare 38!
My last Ludum Dare was LD26, so it’s been a while!

I’ll be using a web game engine that I developed myself, called Mudita.  You can find it here if you’re interested.  It’s not quite ready for prime-time, but the website does have a full API and some example projects.

Meetup Ludum Dare 38 Östersund (Workplays)

Today we are setting up and socializing, small group = the elite has showed up! 😉

Me (Roland) and Glenn will team up for the first time and do a Jam together. We call ourselfs Bald’n’Hairy (for obvious reasons). Roland will do the coding and Glenn the creative stuff like graphics and music/sounds.

Pontus will do a Compo, we think he dares even if he isn’t quite sure yet.

This will be amazeballs have a good feeling about this.

Makes me sad that the most interesting theme is at the bottom and one of the most banal concepts is at the top.
