Hello Little Alien

Still posting on both sites, not sure which one people are using the most?  Hopefully that is not a super annoying thing to do.  Things are progressing fairly well, we now have a little alien who needs re-homing somewhere among the stars (he needs a small world to call his own).

Anyway here he is:

Be careful, he is easily shocked:

Something that kind of works but isn’t really a game.

So this is what I have been up to. I have not had enough time and that will probably continue as the day progresses. Probably going to be a jam entry.

Carefulzilla – Ready to submit!

This is my first Compo entry! Hope everything goes well. I’m just waiting for the LDJam site to accept game submissions to consider myself completely finished.

Carefulzilla

Protect your beloved town against a evil menace that threatens to wipe your beloved people. Just please, try not to destroy anything while doing it.

In Carefulzilla you control giant legs with your mouse, dragging them to make the giant move. Reach the boss at the end and kick his arse to beat the game.

Monster Deck – All Done!

I’m finally done so much hard work :).

Monster Deck is a card fighting game about giant! but cute monsters.

“GIANT MONSTERS HAVE STARTED ATTACKING THE CITIES WITH THEIR EXTREME CUTENESS!”

Been alot of fun making this. Game will be on site soon.

Thanks.

Progress!

Well, I completely scrapped all my work from yesterday, because I decided to change what the gameplay part of my game would be.

npcs

Instead of some sort of planetary production company – my original idea – you now control an NPC-inhabited planet. You spawn some in and see what they do – right now they try to build houses, which you can destroy if you like. My hope is to simply pack a bunch of stuff in – I would be incredibly happy if I could put in enough types of NPC interactions to keep the player occupied for ten minutes. My game probably won’t have great replay value, but hopefully it will at least have some value for playing for a small amount of time.

COTTAGE – DEVLOG NUMBER … four?

Thank you guys for helping with light!

Thanks to that, i finally finished lighting. Also, i redrawed main character!

Another thing which i finished is dialog system! So you can talk now!

Here is some little magical moving picture.

Simsala jiff!

Final push

Crunch time.   In the meantime – here are some hamster sprites..

The stream is still live on the stream page. Need more coffee..

Day Two Progress

Day two round up. I finally have most of the gameplay mechanics implemented, along with two game modes and some very simple ai bots. There are a couple extra features I’d like to add but I’m not sure if I’ll have time. Though before that I need to work on the main menu and some sound effects.

COTTAGE – DEVLOG 5

Day two done!!!

What i finished?

Well, moving trough doors and menus are completely done! Tomorrow i need to draw and programm some story things. And that will be my second favourite part! (first thing is main menu 😀 I Looove making main menu!)

Everything what i done today is seen in jiff!

So… SIMSALA JIFF

In before the deadline!

World of cheese –  gather Hamster Kibble, then find a nice flat spot to eat it.   I had planned to do a giant hamster head in the UI, with inflating cheeks the more you gathered, but ah… Time..

Featuring some retro wave style synth music.

Feel Better About This One

I definitely think this year was my best ludum dare. I actually managed to get music done in time for the first time in the compo! I’m happy with the game itself as well, worked with procedurally generating maps for the first time.  Can’t wait for all of the submissions to roll in!

Capture

Not enough time for the compo…

… but I guess I will make it to the jam. Which is cool too .) I hope you people had a great time while developing your games!

Stable Orbit: Kerbal Can’t Program

I didn’t think I had any time this weekend, so didn’t even do an “I’m in!” post… but yesterday I realized I was free (enough) and could give it a shot. I made a very small gravity-based game: Stable Orbit (source)

The goal is to… get some stability in your life.

I had fun making this – especially making the tunes/sfx which I spent far too much of my time-budget on. I feel like for the limited time I spent on it I ended up with something that was pretty “finished”: which is not bad for an LD!

Tools:
* Ableton Live
* Aesprite
* Pixelmator
* Matter.js (physics lib)

Done !

forme_sauvage

sc01

Forme sauvage is finished !

It was made exclusive in code: graphics and audio are generated procedurally, using respectively the paper.js library and the web audio api.!

And we are proud of the result.
