LD35 April 15–18, 2016

print “I’m in”

I’m in for the second time! 😀 Last time I said that I wouldn’t use Python again but I haven’t had time to play much with Unity yet so I’ll be using Python again.

This time I’m bring some peeps with me to handle the music and art so I can go full force on the game. (And not ruin the framerate with a fancy overlay effect to cover up the pixelart :’) )

Hopefully I can learn some new things again and make something better than last time. I already found a few fun Python libraries to play around with so I’m very excited!

3D world

I made my first 3D world recently and would really appreciate some feedback from some more experienced game developers.

Here is a link the to the game.

Thank you!

I loved the hand drawn style, as well as the graphics that follow the player. It is a nice 3D world, however my main improvements would be to finish up the graphics( I think they seem a bit rushed at the moment). But the style you are going for will look great after some more polish. Also just a small comment, when you fire the bullet it goes slightly off course, this can be frustrating to some people.

Thanks for the awesome feedback!

I don’t consider myself an experienced game developer, but it could use a bit more level design! Maybe some hills or buildings :)

Time is running out!

Last chance to Slaughter some themes for #LDJAM 35!

Slaughter_LD

Me? I will also be “in” as I think they call it

Just so you guys know….

I think I will make something havily focused on music/sound this time, of course if the theme allows.

Tools:

  • JUCE (C++11 framework)
  • Pixen or generate geometry for art
  • Ableton Live for Music

Have fun all!

I’m in ! 3rd LD and VR for first time !

i’m in and i will try to make my first ever V.R game
this warm-up weekend i managed to make the plugin for VR cardboard Android phone work
with unity.
I’ll be using Unity with Playmaker + “TrinusVR” plugin
I should receive my cheap plastic headset to have the full experience tomorrow
and be READY TO GO for LD35 !

I’m in!

This time I plan to make something in 3D. Only bricks and rendering.
And Unity 5.4 of course. If I’m lucky, I can after the ld35 to tie to prototype in-house Shader.
Last time I focused on the limited resources and bind to the season (HNY).
I had to put the resulting game until the autumn – HNY ceased to be relevant.

I still want to experiment with mobile interfaces (which differ from the mouse and keyboard).

Let your ideas will be really cool. And don’t forget to make a tutorial. 😉

I am in!

I am in for my second LD (excluding the one MiniLD I’ve also participated in).

This time with no team, with SFML and not so much time, so I rather be in for a Jam entry.

I hope that something with time manipulation, space travel or creative restriction (3 colors, 3 buttons) will win as the theme, because I am in mood for those ones 😉

my first LD

Tools:

  • Javascript(playground.js) or puzzlescript
  • Gimp

In for another #ldjam

Using Unity, Aseprite, and BFXR. Hopefully finishing this time around, have a string of misses and I’m determined to get one in.

INiAM

again,

as always not sure how much time I will be able to spend, but as always I hope I will learn a ton. LDs are the only time of the year that I can get myself to carve out a small space for my dream / hobby: making games that ppl want to play (well, i am still quite a bit of that target, but rome wasn’t build in a day, hehe).

I will use

And the whole thing will be stitched together with the best IDE there is, Jetbrain’s PHPStorm 😉

I hope everyone will have as much fun as me and a satisfying LD

goeth forth and codeth

I’m in (first time)!

Hi everyone,

My name is Siegfried Croes and this will be the first time I participate. I’m not new to game development though, I did a study where I learned both coding (C++) and graphics (3DS Max, Photoshop) and I’m a full time multimedia designer for over 4 years now. I’m also working on a game in my free time called Tales of Lena.

This jam might give me the opportunity to realize some of the small games I have on my mind and hopefully I will also learn how to work faster and not get lost in details all the time.

The tools I’ll be using:

Engine: Unity / HTML + Javascript
Graphics: Photoshop, Aseprite
Audio: EnergyXT, Audacity

Want To Try This!

Hi all,

I’ll try my first LD using:

  • Code: Unity w/ C#
  • 2D Art: Photoshop
  • 3D Art: Blender (possibly)
  • Sound: FruityLoops

I will make everything myself except the sound effects. I’ll use free open source ones. I can build stuff for web with Unity, but I’m not sure how we go about posting when we’re done. Hopefully I can get this done in time, because I have a kid, too! Should be a hell of a lot of fun!

Composer/Sound Designer seeking project

Hello! I’m a composer looking for a team to collab with for the upcoming Ludum Dare. My soundcloud is below, and I’ll include a link to my site for reference. I haven’t done many games yet, and I’m looking to build my portfolio, so I’m open to any genre. I’m also proficient in sound design, and I’m up for any jobs relating to that as well.

  • Language: C++
  • IDE: Xcode
  • Platform: Emscripten (Web)
  • Music: GarageBand

Is your engine open source?

THE AWAKENING, a.k.a I’m back & I’m in!

Quite hard times were coming in my life, forcing me to miss LD entirely for the rest of 2014 and in the entirety of 2015.

But now, as I created more content than ever for a game, and as I learned a new language, I want to be in, to provide a browser game for you this time!

Language: JavaScript! Lua was great, but the time of online content is coming.

Framework: PhaserJS! LÖVE is one of the best frameworks ever, but it’s time to learn something new.

IDE: JetBrains WebStorm! Quite a huge jump after Notepad++ I guess.

GFX: Paint.NET, as usual.

Sound: SFXR. I can’t forget the beautiful simplicity of it.

Music: Kev MacLeod! I’m about to realize that music is vital.

This time, I’d like to make a “promo game” for my worldbuilding project that has quite a lot of potential story-wise. I hope I can produce something successful, just like in late ’14 with The Last Beacon.

Here we go.

I’m in for Ludum Dare 35. I’ll be using Java.

PUNT: Rebirth is now on Steam Greenlight!

PUNT: Rebirth, the project which my team and I have been working on for the past year, is live on Steam Greenlight! Please vote for us and share the page at: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=394046362

Please express your thoughts and feedback in the comments of this post or on the greenlight page.

Thanks!

2nd Ludum Dare!

This is my second Ludum Dare I will participate in!  Last time, the game wasn’t as good as it could have been, but now I think I will do great!

Tools:

Gamemaker : Studio

Paint.net

LMMS

Wish me luck!

Ludum Dare 35 I AM IN YOU

I’m in, I’m a bit rusty with javascript development but I will use this week as a refresher. My favourite part of Ludum Dare is the incredible productivity that comes with the strict deadline.

  • Engine: Phaser
  • Language: JavaScript
  • IDE: VIM
  • Platform: Web
  • Music: An obscure Flash app I used for my last game or time to try Garage Band
  • SFX: sfxr
  • Graphics: Sketch & GIMP & Tiled
  • Dev Platform: Windows & OSX

what is the obscure flash app?

Getting Ready, I Am In!

This will be my 6th Ludum Dare, and 2 year anniversary of my first attempt! As always I am pumped! I’ve been spending this weekend rewriting the framework I prototyped and hacked out last LDJAM. Here’s what I am using:

  • Language: C#
  • Frameworks .NET/MonoGame/Coldsteel
    • Coldsteel is an engine/framework/library? I am building on top of MonoGame to ease the amount of coding I’ll need to do during the competition. I like reinventing the wheel because I learn a lot about the structure of such things. In keeping with the rules, it is freely available to everyone here if you want to fork and live dangerously…
  • Editor: Visual Studio Community 2015
  • Graphics: Gimp, Paint.NET, Inkscape, MSPaint, Spriter
  • Audio: BFXR/SFXR, Audacity, LMMS, Bosca Ceoil

I may try out a few additional Audio/Graphic tools depending on how things go. I also have a new rule for this LDJAM: Absolutely no alcohol. I’ve tried to employ this as a creativity enhancing tool in the past and it has not gone well.

Good luck to everyone participating! I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with :-).
