Warmup with Git The Kraken

I spent some time prior to this week working on this but the majority of the work was done this weekend. I am happy with how it turned out and am glad I continued with the project because I learned a lot of different things, such as how picky the UI scaling can be.

My First Ludum Dare

Well I have been developing games for 2 years now and recently one of my friends told me about ludum dare. I checked out the website and instantly new this was a god send. This ludum dare will be my first! The tools I will be using are Gamemaker:Studio (GML), Adobe Photoshop and Wavosaur.

Does anyone have any tips they would be happy to share with me?

Get your game working as fast as you can, then build upon and Polish it for the rest of the time.

Hi

Hi guys

I Am In

This will be my ninth Ludum Dare competition. I will be going solo this time, as I want to try and do at least one LD each year on my own. I do enjoy making games with my kids, but sometimes its good to push yourself to the limit as well. I will still ask for their help on brainstorming and testing of course.

  • Unity 5.3.4/Visual Studio 2015/C# (Development)
  • Piskel (Sprites)
  • Krita (Artwork)
  • FL Studio (Sound/Music)
  • Audacity (Sound)

I may add a few others later.

Good Luck to everyone participating, and don’t forget to Donate to the LD cause.

We’re in!

I’ll be participating in Ludum Dare 35 with a team of people who I’ve worked with in previous jams and hackathons – Jeff, whom I met at GGJ15 and Seraphina, whom I met at HackJustice.
We’ll be working with Python and either Pygame or Ren’Py, depending on what the theme lends itself towards.

Yeah, Python! Will be keeping an eye on you guys. 😉

I made a post quite a while ago, where I said that I would not be competing due to GCSE’s

However… I have changed my mind, because I have competed in every Ludum Dare since I started
and it seems like a massive shame to break that streak.

However, I will not be able to go to bed late, and I will still be doing 3 hours of revision each day,
as well as the Ludum Dare.

Tools:

Java: Programming Language
Eclipse: IDE,
Photoshop: for bad pixel art
LWJGL and JOML: for confusing 3D stuff? Not sure about this one.

There is a very high chance that I won’t use OpenGL and just use a DataBufferInt data array as a color buffer, and make a raycaster.

I can’t wait, it is going to be awesome!!

Stay Awesome!

Hello guys (and girls), let’s do another try to participate in the contest.

Tools: Adobe Flash (Starling), Paint.NET and other free graphics editors, and I-don’t-know-what for the sounds.

Good luck to everyone!

See Previous

For my tools,  see previous entry post.

This time I should be free for the entire 48 hours. Yay! I might instead go with Love2D or HaxeFlixel just to be different. I have this whole week to decide…

I’m in… Virtual Reality! Woo!

Hello, this will be my… er…  seventh Ludum Dare. This time I will be using Unity (with Probuilder), Blender, Reason, Audacity etc and I’ll be making a game for the HTC Vive.

Which means practically no-one entering the competition will be able to play and rate the game.

It’s almost liberating, in a way. 😀

Well. Let’s give this a shot once again…

I’m  in!

new team assembled and we created a game for the pre-game Ludum Dare 35

Just got a new team together, and while they have never worked on a game before, I think they produced some solid work in half a weekend.  We are all pretty stoked about this weekend.  Here’s what we did:

(Unity web game, so works well in Firefox/IE).

Here’s what we work in:

  • Unity5
  • Photoshop/GIMP

I’m in!

Well, I didn’t know if I could participate this time, since I’m currently taking my Abitur-exams (similar to the A-levels I think).

But since the next exam is friday after LD, and it’s IT i won’t worry that much and therefore:

I’m in!

I’m probably going to use Java with eiter LibGDX or just a custom thing i’ll write that weekend.

I wish everyone the best of luck!

I’m in! hooray!

This time I’m using:

Framework: Love2D

Graphics: Paint.NET

Sound: SFXR

Have fun everyone 😀

I’m In #3

I’m in for my third ldjam. As usual I’m working solo and using GameMaker + BoscaCeoil for the music. My aim is (like last time) to simply improve and get a higher overall score/rank than last time.
