LD35 April 15–18, 2016

Hey! I’m in!

This will be my second LD.

I’m going to use

Code: MonoGame/C#

Art: Photoshop, Piskell

Music/Sounds: Fl Studio, BFXR

Tags: LD 35

I’m in for round 35!

I’m scared and excited and stressed and happy and slightly ill at the thought of LD35. Let’s do it.

I’m going to use:

  • JavaScript/Canvas Renderer
  • JavaScript/CSS Renderer
  • CanvasQuery/Phaser/Custom Engine
  • FL Studio/Bfxr
  • Photoshop/Note Paper
  • Most likely reuse some utility functions to get started

Okey! I’m in!

So this will be my fourth Ludum Dare, but this is the first time I will do it alone.

Ludum Dare has always been a way for me to try new frameworks and tools and it will be no different this time.

I will use:

Code: Unity (C#)

Graphics: Gimp (and Blender if I do a 3D game)

Sound: I have no experience here, so will try to find a newbie friendly software to use 😉

Happy Developing!

I’m in! We’re in!

It’s time to join the fun again! As always at the bottom I will list some tools we might definitely use. The final used tools list will come with the submission to let you know what was really used 😉 Yay! This time again I and my wife will work together to get something great out in the wild that you can hopefully vote 😀

  • Brain
  • Godot
  • Aseprite
  • Bfxr / Sfxr

I wish you all good luck and let’s have some fun!

Where does the time go?

A lot of school work to do and not much time to do it in, I’m thinking of trying to do a 1 day game, should be interesting if nothing else.

let’s do this.

tools:

  • godot 2
  • gimp
  • renoise

i’ll probably be working from a template in godot. don’t know, i haven’t actually made it yet. if i make one, i’ll share it by friday. :)

good luck, everybody!

I do not know yet whether I’m in or not…

… But if I am, I will be using my usual weapons :

  • Eclipse (for Java).
  • Gimp and Pixelmator (for gfx).
  • Sfrx and Audacity (for sfx).

I might take part… “Might”

If i do i will be using

Eclipse – For java

Paint.net for graphics

BFXR for sound

Audacity for editing sound

Notepad for planning

I’m In!

This will be my first ludum dare that I will compete in! I’m really excited, and honestly can’t wait. Despite me not being an amazing programmer, or artist, I think it’ll still be a blast!

My tools will include:

Unity 5.3.4 Personal edition

Visual Studio Community Edition (C#)

Pyxel Edit

Audacity

Sfxr?

An Acoustic Guitar?

-inset last minute music program here- (Any recommendations?)

In

OK Going for it again…

Unity

Blender

Paint.net

But also going to use the simple RTS framework I used for Mini LD #66

I don’t know about you but I’ve gotten into a bad habit with LD, re-working things from scratch each time.  I should be building up a code base so each time I do an LD I have an improved foundation to work from.

Simple RTS Unity Package

Do LD developers collaborate and build frameworks?

Do may LD developers use existing game frameworks and collaborate on improving those frameworks?

For example have you seen an amazing LD entry and considered working with the developer on creating a framework for that genre of game?

Or are the best entries already using good frameworks built on their technology stack e.g. Unity / Haxel / Monkey / BlitzMax / Java / C# / C++ / Unreal / Cryengine etc?

OK this would only work if your game worked within or close to a given frameworks genre e.g. FPS, RTS, Platformer, 2D/3D, Racing, Flight so it might reduce the diversity of Ludum Dare entries but I would think it would increase the quality of entries quite a bit.

What do you think, is LD all about re-inventing the wheel or could it be about improving different styles of wheel for different jobs?

Let’s try this again.

So, I’m in. I’ll be using rust and a library I’ve been neglecting until recently. The last time I entered and tried to use rust I failed so hard, but this time I’m not a noob with rust anymore so let’s see what happens. At least it won’t take me 12 hours to get a textured quad on the screen this time :)

As for asset creation, I’ll be using gimp for art, LMMS and SFXR for sound (if I get that far).

Anyway, let’s do this!

LD #35 – Uncle in the Attic is In

After fixing a scheduling issue, I will be entering the compo – and hope to have an awesome time as I have the last two events I entered.  I have been learning as much as I can since last time, playing and going through tutorials online just to learn HOW to make things happen as I want them to.

Pre launch testing has been complete, except for Version Control – still working on getting that set up but will be done by Friday evening – ESPECIALLY after losing my entire scene during the last LD near the end and having to recreate from memory. :(

I will use Inkscape/Photoshop/Illustrator for art.

Unity 5.4 as my engine

Sound has to be a key component this game – last two games suffered for not having – Bxfr & Audacity probably.  I had even recorded some sounds for last game, but sadly didn’t get them in and would have probably pushed me up through the 100 on humor (108 last LD).

Oh, and can’t forget the thing that is most important – Red Bull, Red Bull and some Toro Rojo just in case – for energy! 😀

Bring on the theme!

I’m in, attempting to finish something this time…

It’s been a while since I’ve successfully completed a Ludum Dare game – I tend to start, get overwhelmed, have a minor panic attack, and quit in a huff. My main goal this time is just to finish something, small or shite as it may be. I’ll probably be entering the compo since I’m working alone and only have the weekend to work anyway.

I’ll be using:

  • Unity C# with my personal framework
  • Inkscape
  • Gimp
  • Audacity
  • BFXR
  • Bosca Ceoil
  • Github
  • Trello
  • Gifcam for sharing my progress (@Jiyambi on Twitter)
  • Some rocking tunes ala the Katamari Damacy OST, among others.

Good luck to everyone!

In for this one

lets see if I am capable of finishing it this time.

——————————————————————————————-

I will be using the following:

———————————————————————————————

Unity 5.0

notepad++ (for cool HTML or any sort of text files i might need to write)

blender

adobe Photoshop

———————————————————————————————

That’s it. I will be streaming the hole thing upcoming weekend which ,

will probably be uploaded in a shorter version to YouTube.

Good Luck too anyone joining in

&

Don’t forget to have FUN!

I am in

I am in.

Using:

My old XNA utilities with MonoGame for Android / Xamarin (which now run on Windows/ Windows 10/ XboxOne/ Android).

BXFR for Sound Effects.

Paint.Net for Graphics.

(Usually no music :P)

To celebrate Xamarin going free, my entry will only be accessible from the Android Store for free download this time around, with a latest version being available every so often during the weekend.

London Dare 35

londondare

Hey! Do you know is there any place in London where people would gather for LudumDare this weekend? I happen to be in town and it would be cool to meet other jammers or maybe even team-up with someone.

I’m in!

One year into Ludum. Hoping to make something cool.

Im In

I’m just hoping I’ll get close to finishing this time.

I’ll be using:

  • MonoGame
  • Visual Studio
  • Paint.net

Maybe some music will be there at some point.

I might stream parts of the development, most likely when I’m testing things, making art, stuff like that.
