LD25 December 14–17, 2012

I’m in! Again!

For 4th time. This time, no preparations. I’m not sure what I’ll be using yet (The Games Factory 2 and sfxr again, I think). This should provide additional challenge for me too. 😀
Also, let’s be honest – I don’t think I’ll do any timelapse, like I always claimed I will. However, I’ve got better machine, so I might livestream the whole thing.

Wish me luck!

I’m in!

Hi, I’m in!

First time!

Will code in JavaScript, plus GIMP or MyPaint.

May fail, don’t care :p

I’m in, most likely!

However, I foolishly signed up for some volunteer work on the same weekend. If I can get someone to take my place (which I think I can), then I will totally be competing!

I have very little time to prepare, since this week is also finals week, so I’ll probably stick to what I did back in April: LOVE + Lua, GIMP for graphics, and Bfxr for sound effects. I still have no idea what to do about music (all of my previous games had none), but I guess I can still figure it out before friday! :)

thou shalt be there

3rd full LD for team Will Edwards (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/author/william_edwards/)

Last game was a bit of a flop at the box office but we were pleased with it anyways. But we’ve learned a few lessons; this one won’t be multi-player online!

Will and I will share the design, Will will code, I’ll do graphics and audio.

If anyone wants to join the team to provide backing music please get in touch.

Might.  A couple of comps ago I tried and failed miserably.  But this time, I have confidence!

I’m going to be using C++ (Visual Studio 2010) and SDL as the graphics engine.  I’m going to use SFXR for sounds because I can and also Paint.net for graphics.  I’m going to be using a skeleton gui that I made so that I don’t have to spend 3 hours trying to draw a square.  I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to do it, but I hope to at least send something in.

Best of luck to everybody entering!!!

I’m in so HARD

We’re going to be making a game next week. So amped!

I’ll be entering the team jam. Making a game in Unity. Probably a game about blowing stuff up (theme depending). If possible we want to jam something multiplayer (so we’re going full retard on the ambition this time).

Good Luck Everyone!

I’m in!

3rd LD, looking forward to it.  I hope I can come up with something slick with the theme we get, regardless of what it is.

My goal in my first ludum dare was to complete a game.  I did, but it was crap, because I over thought and underdeveloped.  In my second, my goal was to make something complete, and polished, and I came up with a very simple entry that works as a great prototype.  This time, I want to make something really engaging or thought provoking.  I want to take a simple mechanic and make it engrossing.

It’s a high goal, but shoot for the stars, as it were.

I will be using Stencyl 2.2 as my development platform, using SFXR for sound effects and samples, Audacity now and again for control, Renoise for music (if I risk it), and Photoshop for my graphics.  I’ll also be cleaning off my desk so that I’m not sitting in front of my TV and therefore have no distractions!

I’ll also be making a timelapse for my game, which I have neglected to do for the first two competitions.  I may livestream, but I don’t know that I’d carry enough viewers to warrant spending the power on my already limited laptop.

I’ll be posting my battle station later this week, right before /compo begins!

In Again.

I’m in again, hoping to this time make a game that is more enjoyable than the last two times I’ve done this.

My tools:

Stencyl, Paint, GraphicsGale, PxTone, Bfxr, and yeah, I think that’s it.

Good luck to the rest of you, and let’s make games.

Looking forward to our very first LD jam!

My friend’s and I have been getting pumped for this for months! I’ve wanted to participate in LD since I first heard about it last year, and every single time there’s been some situation that’s come up to prevent me from entering. Well, NOT THIS TIME! Took the weekend off, we’re getting terminals set up in my friend’s man cave and we’ll be coding away into the wee hours of the morning next weekend to try and finish something that resembles a game! This will be our first ever time working together on a game, and actually the first ever real game we will (hopefully) finish! It’s all very exciting, and I can’t wait to start! Good luck to everyone who is participating!

Good luck, you sould like you will do very well. Whats your programming language?

In!

My 6th LD already! I’ll be using XNA again, and probably keep things 3D as that went pretty well the last two times.

Let’s get it on! 😀

I´m in.

LD 24 was my first LD but I didn´t manage to submit something because I´m still a beginner and I was away half of that weekend. but since then I evolved from super amateur to amateur and I´m looking forward to this LD.

I improved my pixelart skills alot and I seem to code faster and more efficient since LD24.

But I´m sure it will be at least as funny as last time.

I´ll code with BlitzBasic

and I will use Gimp, Aseprite and sfxr.

I am going to be attempting to make an entry for the famous LD!

Hello! This is going to be my very first time entering into Ludum Dare 48 hour challenge! I am a high school student and a VERY new code writer.

I’ll be using the Eclipse IDE for source code, and Paint.net and Audacity for my assets!

I will try my best and have fun with it!

Best of luck to you, and glad to see that you’re starting early.

LD25 Warm-Up Weekend Submission is In

I just submitted my LD25 Warm-Up entry, Robozerkertron. It’s a quick little game that plays similar to the old Berzerk and Robotron arcade games.

Head on over to the entry page to play and feel free to comment.

Game doLudumDare(time, food, theme, idea);

I shall be joining. First Ludum Dare.

import Rules;
import Clock;
import Game;

static Main(args[...]){
    Clock.setCountDown(48,00,00);

    Rules.read();

    Game ludumGame = doLudumDare(time, food, theme, idea);

    ludumGame.play();
}

Most likely will be made in GM, unless i decide to go with Java.

I’m in again!

This’ll be my second Ludum Dare.

I’ll most likely be developing in either Flixel or Unity, using GIMP for graphics, sfxr and Audacity for sound effects, and Figure on iPad for music.

See you guys there!

I’m in!

Hello!

This will be my first Ludum Dare.

About me: I’m a highly ambitious person who loves programming — why wouldn’t I be here?

I’m going to be using Java with Eclipse, Paint.NET, bfxr, and LMMS. I’ll also see if I can write some basecode to post here tomorrow, although I’m really lazy when it comes to things like that.

Other than that, good luck to you all, and may the best coder win!

I’m definitely maybe in this time, you guys!

I Really have a decent change of being in for real this time. Maybe.

I may well use the following tools:

Language: Python with Pygame and my currently unfinished library for making grids on surfaces. I will use Cx_freeze for compilation.

Image editing: Paint.net

Sound: BFXR and possibly some other thing for ambient music.

IDE: Either IDLE or Eclipse with PyDev depending on my mood. I switch between them frequently.

I have a warmup game up if you want to play it.

Paint.net? That’s what I use too :) I like it because it’s simple to use but get’s the job done.

Yes. Easy to learn but has goddamn transparency.

Matrix Avoider – My LD25 warmup game.

LD warmup

Hey guys I just wanted to show off my LD25 warmup game. It’s a standard mouse avoider with bullet time.

You can play it at the following places:
Kongregate
Newgrounds

I’m in for the first time

Hi! This is my first time entering the 48 hour challenge!

I will be submitting a game using the http://sgdk2.sf.net open source library!

I hope to meet other game developers here!

Yep, im in LD25

Well, last time my game was so bad… it can only get better.  :)

Last time i used visual basic, being a newb, and created an awfully glitchy, frozen, crashing, bugged…. game? Or program?

Anyways… I have learnt alot. I am up and running with python, (using the library pygame) and have gotten an IRL freind to teach me photoshop…

Things are getting better. What inspired me to python was the rasberry pi i got. (No, not the pie, pi, its a computer… google it) which has IDLE pre installed. Never know, i might even make a video of me making my game.

Good luck to all, and i hope im not going to fail *as bad*   = )

Kid, you’re both younger than me and seemingly better than me at coding. I’d be proud of that if I were you. I’ll play whatever you produce. I’m hoping it’s good.
