We originally were doing our project for the Jam timing, but we hit bugs with our open source project Ecsact. More about that below.
Our take on the harvest theme was to 'harvest' the earth, aka mine the earth. So we saught out to create a little platformer where you mine tiles into ore and stack them on your back. We decided to get a little comedic with it and have the character stack these huge boulders on their back.

We got as far as mining the ground (sort of) and picking up the ores.

The ore didn't make it onto the back of the character and we didn't get the throwing mechanic in yet either. We're still going to finish the game in the 'Extra' category so I'll post about the progress again soon!
This was also the first time I've used Tiled (https://www.mapeditor.org/) which is quite awesome! I'm using the SuperTiled2Unity package (https://github.com/Seanba/SuperTiled2Unity) for integration with Unity and it's also awesome!
Ecsact is something myself (Zaucy) and Kelwan are working on and part of that is doing game jams with Ecsact to catch bugs and to eventually have some great samples. We think it'll be an awesome way to integrate ECS into your game project. It's free and open source, but also under heavy development. During the development of our litte game we did a release with several bug fixes (Ecsact SDK 0.4.4 release notes). These bugs really slowed us down, but the fixes alone made doing the jam worth it in our eyes.
Here's a little preview of what part of our .ecsact files look like for our ludum dare entry. This particular part describes how the movement should work. The language description documentation is here: https://ecsact.dev/docs/lang

You can learn more about Ecsact on our website: https://ecsact.dev
If you give Ecsact a try don't hesitate to reach out on our discord or otherwise. We'd love to help.
Our Game is out !

After having a wedding conflict with LD 50 and then not finishing LD 51 it feels good to have a submission for LD 52 with the January Jam, feels kinda funny since I've never done a January one before, but we took this one pretty casually and it felt good.
Our game is pretty fun when you get a few people going together so feel free to share with your friends and see who is the best as hoeing lol.

Also wanted to take a moment to put in some cut content on the art side, let me know if you have any feedback or thoughts.

I nearly didn't make it, but I've finally done it (I didn't not finish in time lol)!
Here's my entry, and good luck to all in the voting round!
(Genre: Action)
Meet Vega, a Reaper hired to farm the deadly plants in her employer's farm with nothing but her trusty sickle and hand-eye coordination.
Can you survive the onslaught as the bots send you to higher difficulty rooms? Can you become a professional weedslayer? Play and find out!

CrapCirclz is finally here!
We will make some upgrade in the future, don't hesitate to give us feedbacks !
We all hope you will enjoy our game

Jumping bean harvester is ready for evaluation!
Always the most productive hour of the jam. We try not to do anything new in the time but it's alway hooking everything we've made together at the last minute!

Also this is most bizarre description I have yet written:

I am one of the artists involved with "Calorie Crunch". Its my first ever published animation, using Procreate. I wish I had the foresight to shade the monster during the animation process... next time!
Our 2nd ever game jam submission is done! Titled "Calorie Crunch", you are planting food ingredients, harvesting them into recipes, and feeding a hungry little monster. Check it out, and please leave feedback. We will get back to you to do the same for your game. Super fun!
Game is mobile and iPad compatible. So far, we have tested on several iPhones (ignore the "device compatibility" issue and click "try anyway"), new gen iPads, HP Zbook X4, and of course PCs/laptops (Windows and Mac). Bug reports would be appreciated as well.
Can't wait to play all of your games! Thanks guys!

I forgot I got shit Internet, downloading the export presets and uploading the game might take a while. So submitting in time for the JAM won't be possible for me, so EXTRA it is! More time fixing and polishing, making a better game Loop and having fun doing so!

So I was right - I over-scoped. It turns out that an experimental Survival Horror game involving escorting AI and avoiding Rain, among other complication, is a bit harder to pull together than can be expected in 3 Days - who knew?!
I think given an extra day, I could have pulled something together for the Jam. Unfortunately that's not on the cards, so Extra it is! I've really enjoyed this weekend though, and I've definitely learned a lot. I think that this game might be something special within the next few weeks, so I wouldn't change it for the world.
Congrats to all of the teams that made that deadline! I cannot wait to play your games! 😁
Use a mech to harvest bodies from an abandoned space station.

Come play our game called Metit !

In this game you play the grim reaper, you have to kill some demons to harvest they're souls and bring back to your boss ! But be careful, these monsters pack quite a punch and know how to defend themselves using good old guns !
Use your dash ability to avoid the enemies' bullet and kill them using your scythe !
Your goal is to kill all enemies in the level ! You can keep track of your current score in the top left corner (the cute little skull).
Get the game here : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/metit
Have fun !
Right up to the wire, but we did it!
Now to rest up before a big day of playing entries tomorrow.

oh my god... what was i thinking???? O_o This is definitely a much more ambitious try than my last two. But holy hell... WHAT! A! NIGHTMARE!
The code is a mess but it runs and works.
now people just need to start to sell people :)
Also I really want to write some kind of postmortem about this game, I do genuinely think it could work, but for now this is definitely a lot more of a concept piece than a finished game.
Also, the embedding is... ehm.... not working as intentioned :/ so just go and download it The game page
