Last night I mainly just worked on artwork.

Yes, I know, artwork before gameplay seems stupid - but, I still needed to figure out how the game would actually play, so I figured I could multitask while GIMP-ing up some photos.

I went around my house taking pictures of various foods, then I cut out the background [ tediously ], applied some filters, and gave it a border.

I'm going for a semi-real, semi-cartoon, retro / grungy look. I think they're turning out fine for the aesthetic I'm after.

Anyways, as mentioned, gameplay will [ hopefully ] get implemented today! Hoo-ray! :V:

So, Ludum Dare 45 eh? That sounds fun...

Thing is, I just recently started using Godot Engine, and I haven't had much practice with it. The fun part: I'm going to try & spend the next 3 days following tutorials & getting comfortable with Godot in order to hopefully make something at least half-decent for the jam!

Is it possible? Look here, nothing is impossible! ...Except, you know, some stuff...

But, more importantly, will it be fun? YES!

Wanted to give a good mixture with my theme suggestions this time round, so I decided to first give off a positive vibe with Everything Will Be OK, as I feel like that might be a message some people need to hear right now.

But, we can't get too sappy wholesome, so let's balance it back down with We're All Going To Die. You know, just a little scary truth in there ;^)

Finally, getting away from general "vibe" themes, I ended with a pretty fun game-based theme: Compilation. Not gonna lie, I have a ton of ideas for this one ( retro game mashups, movie + game mechanic mixes, team-up with other LDers and put all games into a fantasy cartridge, etc. ).

Lots of fun coming up in just under 40 days!

As always, people are complaining about the themes that have been suggested, and we'll most likely see the tried & true tradition of complaining about the final theme when it's picked in ~10 days.

Oh Ludum Dare, never change buddy :^)
