Well after a few days of playing games and relaxing a little it’s time to write about what we did on our first ludumdare.
I’m quite satisfied with the result in the end, even if some things were left out due to a lack of time and we didn’t adjust the gameplay as much as we would have loved.

– What went well:
At first, the theme selection was really fast. We started on saturday morning, and we spend like an hour or so deciding the theme, after a few ideas we both liked the super secret janitor who “saves” the world discreetly sliping suspects into the staff room.
I think we managed to get a nice feeling of sweeping over the floor, and a relaxed ambience during the gameplay (we thought that a bossa nova theme would add some funny ambience with people sliping through the floor).
I’m not really sure if was something that went well, but I liked the visuals we managed to get, simple ones, but i think they do the job.
-What went not so well: (or bad)
As our first jam it turns out that we had to change a little the scope of the game. The initial plan, was to only get in the staff room those people who were suspects, like someone wearing a moustache, or a black suitcase, but at the end it tourned out that we had no time implementing those things.
I also think that we had to spend a little more time adjusting the janitor movement over the screen, slowing him down, sometimes it gets really hard to control, but again with so many things to do we didn’t realize we had more to do here.
I would have loved to add also more than three NPC characters, like women, old people moving slowly, kids and another janitor to control, but we had no time for it.
In the end, it was something very fun to do, and I hope I will be here for next ones.
You can play or download our game here if you want to have a try!
