LD25

I’m in.

I think I’ll give this another go. Last 2 hadn’t worked out for me, and if this one doesn’t too it is for the same reason. So, even though this is the weekend right before finalllllssssss…….. , . , ., ., ., .,.,.,.,.. :O

Language: Java

Library: LibGDX/Box2D(I think is the physics engine with libgdx).

IDE: Eclipse

Graphics tool: aseprite

Music: finale and sonarX1. Some bleeps and bloops. Maybe Max MSP if I’m feeling creative, but probably just some midi work on a synth.

Platform: PC/MAC Desktop (.jar), maybe android if I’m lucky in my control scheme.

Going to try and organize some other Bridgewater State University students into giving it a try as well.

[M] Trying again this year

I was successfully able to learn my tools with insanity jam, but not quite make a game. So, this time I am going to give it a shot. I got all my real-world stuff put aside so I can just enjoy some game coding this weekend.

Tools:

Language: c#

Framework: Monogame / BulletSharp (Bullet3D)

Platform: Windows

Graphics: Aseprite, spine, spriter

Sound: SonarX1

Hopefully this time will be the one where I stick to a schedule! good luck to everyone

LD31

We’re in (Woo jam duo)

My wife wants to do a jam and school has worn us both down, so time to do something fun.

Graphics: Aseprite probably

Language: Java with LibGDX or c# with monogame. Something simple, depends on the pipeline

Music: Maybe my band will play something? www.dionysusparkranger.com

If any server side mechanics I wanna play with this new websockets library in elixir/erlang. but probably too hard for a jam :p

We have some ideas but it completely depends on the theme. We will be putting up a challenge white board and maybe we can stream our design sessions this time.

Good Luck everyone! (Also good luck on finals to all the hard working students out there).

LD32

Going to make an attempt, again!

I have an ICER paper and a compilers project due right before / during this, but!!!! We’re (probably) in anyways.

(These always fall right before finals for me :( so it’s crunch time which is both good and bad (historically bad, for me)).

Tools:

Libgdx (engine), Superpowered (audio library), Aseprite (art), google docs (writing), SonarX3+DimensionPro (music).

If the theme seems more appropriate for a webby game, I might consider using what I’ve been planning research in:

Elixir+pheonix(web backend), js game engine of choice, maybe even just a UI engine (front end), Google’s Blockly metaprogramming language (for user defined behaviors). It might be easier to make something small in this way, but might be harder to make something really “ludum dare game like” in it. We’ll see!

Target:

Desktop (but I write portable code in libgdx, so maybe android?)

We might do this from home, but if I can get some buzz + friends, maybe we’ll stream from campus (yay expo boards).

Maybe in

I think this is the first LD that won’t fall on either school starting or finals week for me. Nice!
