I’m (probably) in

Work’s quite busy this time of year but I’ll do my best to make something!

I’ll be using:
– Code ‘n’ stuff: FlashPunk (in Flashdevelop)
– Images ‘n’ stuff: GIMP (Don’t know why I bother because I’m far from being artistic… Oh well)
– Sounds ‘n’ effects: FL Studio

Last time my game only got a grand total of 11 votes so I’m hoping I’ll get more this time :)

Good luck to everybody!

Update…

Changed my mind, entering the Jam instead of the Compo with my friend working on the art.

Thinking Christmassy for this one!

I’m (Probably) In

Going for it – not sure if I’ll have enough time but I’ll try my best to produce something at the very least worthwhile!

Will be using FlashPunk for programming

My signtaure terrible graphics (Probably paint (I really need to learn to draw properly))

FL Studio (And a bunch of other audio tools) – Hoping I can come up with something semi-decent music wise, as I believe that it is my stronger point. Might even try and record some ACTUAL guitar for the first time.

Let’s see if Lady Luck smiles down on me this time!

Pretty stoked!

Alright, I’ve already posted my “I’m in” but I just thought I’d wish everybody the best of luck.

I’m going to bed now, and if I time it just right I should wake up a little before the theme is released. We’ll see.

I’ve already got a few ideas, I hope the theme is more accommodating to them than ‘Evolution’ was. Again, we’ll see.

Really looking forward to writing the music for this, as my graphics are certainly not going to be winning any hearts.

The jelly’s in the fridge and I’m ready to roll!

I recommend jelly to everybody.

Put it in the fridge at the start of the compo, get cracking on your game (In my case, “game” has a very loose definition).

5 hours in, you’ll remember you have jelly, and feel like rewarding yourself.

Remembering jelly is a good feeling.

Again I wish the best of luck to you all.

The Jelly!

The jelly is done!

Best mid-composition treat ever.

At the rate I’m going, my ‘game’ is going to be a soundtrack to a blank screen.

Oh well,

ONWARDS!

The 13th hour: Progress

Made a decent amount of progress today.

Behold my title screen with some poetry I accidentally wrote while explaining the instructions.

(The random 2×2 squares are particles, by the way)

The theme is working to my advantage: No sprite drawing (Not a strong point of mine).

Looking forward to trying out peoples’ games once mine is done!

Day 2 begins!

With just under 24 hours to polish off my game, I’m pretty hopeful.

Got a good night’s sleep, ready to push on!

Oh, and I’ve put more jelly in the fridge.

Sanity

It’s aliiiiiiive!

By far the best game I’ve ever made.

(Which doesn’t say much for my game making skills), but I’m proud of it!

I’ve had a look at a few of the games that are already up – Looking forward to rating ’em!

About the game:

Plunge into the surreal world of the insane narrator’s mind (And maybe catch a breeze of the weird things going on inside the game author’s head?). You control the narrator’s last spark of conciousness. Steer it blindly around a seemingly blank mind, searching for a way out. Stray too far from your goal, and only pain will greet you. As his mind breaks, the narrator’s head is progressively filled with dark thoughts that tempt you, but are to be avoided at all costs!

How did you make the chime sound? I’ve never been able to get it right.

Late Out of the Starting Gate

Starting a little late, my plan is to make a sidescrolling game based on a musical score.

As per usual, I started making my game by writing some music for it. As I couldn’t come up with anything better to make a game about that would even remotely fit into the theme, I decided to go with this, a side-scrolling platformer (Original, right?) which involves playing music. More soon to follow.

Side scrolling is not entire game on one screen :p

True, but I’ve seen a few games which seem to be side scrolling and I’ve sort of compensated by not really adding any mechanics or anything.

I think I’m In!

Giving the warmup weekend a shot, using a random theme from Slaughter.

I’ll be following my usual style of music first, game later, and I’ve thus produced a piece of music – You can find it on soundcloud here. By some bizarre miracle I managed to cut the track to loop pretty seamlessly.

I’m planning on using Game Maker Studio for the actual game bit, the music was recorded and arranged with Guitar Rig 5, FL Studio and Audacity.

Now I just need to make a game…
