Hi there (and there, so on the new website)
We will be working as a team of three people: Two coding, one graphics.
Tools will be:
HaxeFlixel
FlashDevelop
VSCode
Aseprite
Git
See you on the other side!
My first two attempts were unsuccessful, and I hope this time I actually will have made something by the end of the compo. Anyway, I’m in.
First game jam.
Might as well give it a try and test myself.
Using Unity and paint.net.
As leblane is doing his voxel bit and I’m doing my pico-8 bit, it’s compo for both of us.
We’ll see if I get the pre-jam library for pico-8 basics up or not. I’m mostly practicing lua in pico-8 right now.
Well no I’m setting up another machine for development and being sure this one is ready.
—
Update: pre-jam library no, tired: yes, theme in 20, get theme, sleep on it.
LD36 was so much fun, but have non LD work to do this weekend so time will be extra short for comp.
Using :
Unity- with a stupid amount of extensions.
c#
Lightwave
Zbrush
Substance Painter and whatever else I think I’ll need depending on the game.
So I’ve purposely slept all day to get ready for the announcement! Now I’m gonna run to the shop, get easy to cook food and energy drink!
I’m doing this by my lonesome this year, I will be working in:
I’ve yet to finish a Ludum Dare, but hopefully I’ll get something done this time!

I’m planning on streaming my dare on livecoding.tv. Is that ok?
In for my first jam.
My second (or third?) Ludum Dare.
Last time (second LD) I had a lot of unplanned things popping up on the LudumDare weeked and finally I had to skip the contest.
This time I have a lot of “planned” non Ludum Dare related events, but I will code a nice little game!
This time I will participate in the Jam (I’m sure I need more than 48 hours)
Tools:
[X] Unity3D ()
[X] InkScape (Motivational Wallpaper, WordPress Featured Image, …)
[X] Notepad++ (4BrainDump)
[X] WordPress (Documenting my work)
[] XYZ
[] Audacity
[] MagixVDLX
[] Blender
[] SnakeOil
Wish all of you good luck…
BTW.
WordPress 4.7 is available! Please notify the site administrator. 😉

Obligatory I‘m in post. Will be using my C++, OpenGL gamedev framework TurtleBrains and have yet to decide solo compo or team jam. Leaning more towards compo at this point. Other tools include whiteboards, books, game controllers, oh- software: VisualStudio/Xcode/Codelite/Sublime Text in some weird magical cauldron. Probably InkScape maybe slight use of Paint.NET or Gimp. Likely Audacity and sfxr/bfxr for sound. Music is always in the air for me, unfortunately.
Anyway I’ve got my game development battle arena, yes I said arena, prepared. Ready to man several stations and create a game in 48 to 72 hours.
I’ve finally decided to enter a LD! It’s been a while since I’ve been in a game jam, I may be a little rusty, but I’ll do my best to start and finish a game by Sunday.
I’ll be using Unity for sure, as for everything else, probably bfxr/sfxr for sound and Illustrator for art.
Good luck everyone!
Will be attempting to work around my schedule. This will be my first! Will most likely be using Unity and some, rather terrible, home-brewed art!
I’ve done 3 Ludum Dare’s so far, all jams and 2/3 with my friend. First time doing the compo, found some free music makers and I’ll hopefully be able to make something that doesn’t make your ears bleed. I’m also gonna try for something 10x more simple than my previous entries…get the base mechanic down, have a full game and add onto it so I don’t end up with a game that’s boring or not complete. Hoping I can do a roguelike/dungeon crawler/rts with the theme!
Tools:
Engine: Unity (C#), Visual Studio
Audio: Audacity, bfxr, homemade sounds, free music makers
Art: GIMP
We’re totally in for Ludum Dare 37! This is our first time working as a team for the jam but some of us have already participated in the compo before. Alright here’s the rundown:
We will be using Java and my own game engine I’ve been working on since Ludum Dare 35.
You can get the source code for our engine here: https://github.com/pianoman373/Point-Engine
For tools I’m not sure what exactly everyone else will be using, but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be along the lines of:
Oh yeah and ParkerMc is gonna be doing a stream over at: https://www.twitch.tv/parkermc01
Have fun everyone!
So we have a big team this time around! Take a look at our dev setup!
Some of us will be streaming!
Check out our AMAZING SETUPS. Annotated for your pleasure.

Hi, this is my first LD! I am looking forward to working with a visual artist. My portfolio (games and some other weird things) can be found here: https://luangoo.com.
I’m familiar with Unity3D(C#), photoshop, and blender(just a little).
Please let me know if you are also looking for a teammate 😀

So this should be my 4th Ludumdare?
Ludumdare 33,35,36 and now 37. Hopefully I don’t f*ck this up like my 33rd and 36th Ludumdare
Tools:
Engine – Unity
Art – Gimp / Inkscape
Sound – Audacity
Music – Bosca Ceoil
Also I can take a “break” from my current Project 😀

Not sure if I’m going for the jam or the compo, probably the Jam but we’ll see how I feel when it starts.
Brand New game studio company.
We’ve just started to work on our own project but before we dove totally into that we thought it was a good idea to try out the jam.
Good luck to everyone out there,
SandBloom
Hey all, we’re in! This time, I’m also hosting an ld get together and work space at Queen’s University in Kingston!

That’s all I wanted to say.
This will be my third time at the solo competition. My arsenal is as follows:
Good luck everyone!
Been feeling a little meh lately, and I can’t rest on Monday, but maybe, just maybe, I’m able to pull something out this weekend.
I downloaded and updated my repo so everything is up to date and running.
We’ll see…
Hello everybody,
I’m a french tycoon and management games indiedev, and today I decided to join LD48 to “discover” new types of games, and because I want to have fun coding this, so I wish best of luck to everybody for the jam 😀
GAME ENGINE : Unity
EDITING : Photoshop CC
3D : Blender, MagicaVoxel, Tiled, Paint.NET
Polymeth
I will use pico8 or haxe depending on the theme or my capacity to install haxe environment before jam start.
Good luck everyone !!
Hi!
I’m in this time, hope to make something great 😀
I’m using Unity, Visual Studio and Aseprite!
Also, I’ve made a Unity plugin that simplifies a lot making sprite animations, you can take a look to it here:
https://github.com/Elendow/UnitySimpleSpriteAnimationPlugin
It’s a preview version of the one I want to put on the Asset Store, but it’s fully functional (I use it at work!). Feedback will be appreciated 😀
Cheers!

This will be my second entry. My first try ended badly after laying sick in bed all Sunday. This time I feel fine.
I’m in the middle of my exams this semester and I should be studying this weekend. Therefore I have decided to make a game as an exercise using the techniques that will be tested in the exams. A couple of those techniques are finite-state machines and multi-threading. I have yet to decide whether I will be making a game in Unity or just a console game.
With Unity, Paint.net and Inkscape, and somehow I will manage audio too.
I hope nothing will cross off my jam, like last time.
I’ll be using Unity, Photoshop, maybe bxfr.
First LD!
I wonder what the theme will be.
Good luck everyone!
We are IN for Ludum Dare Jam.
Our team: Barbora S., Katerina S., Joao C., Pavel D. and maybe also Brigita S.
Game design: entire team
Graphics: Barbora (and maybe also Brigita)
Level design: entire team
Music and sounds: Pavel
Programming: Joao and Pavel
Testing: Katerina
Platforms we are considering: iOS, PC (Windows/macOS) and Web (WebGL/HTML5)
Technologies we are considering: iOS SpriteKit & Swift, Unity 3D and Unreal Engine
Tools: www.bfxr.net
Folks, I wish you all a good time during Ludum Dare 37!
Hi everybody! This is the first time I am trying myself in LD. Can’t wait to start
This will be my 5th Ludum Dare. I’m pretty stoked this time around.
I’ll be using Unity.
This time I dragged a friend in with me 😉
Poor soul…
He will watch in madness as I use: https://github.com/ZirconCode/BasicGameApplet
And GIMP… or something like that…
edit: Strike that, on a whim and little time it will be Love2D and some of rxi’s cool looking stuff
We’re a team (quite a big one ^^ ) , we’re students in Game Design/Level Design and for most of us it will be the first Ludum Dare.
We will be mostly using :
-adobe tools
-Unity 2D c#
-bfxr
Good luck to every one!
It’s my first Ludum Dare.
Yee Haw! I’ve always wanted to try one of these!
My second LD!
Once again going to be using Unity. Blender and Paint.net as well. Let’s do this!
I’m extra pumped to get to work on this Ludum Dare. Normally I can’t make it into the December jam, so this is going to be extra fun. It’ll be a nice break from my current projects.
As usual, I’ll be using Unity, Photoshop/PDN, Blender (if I work in 3D), and BFXR/Audacity. I’ll be working with a buddy this time around.
If you feel like getting progress updates, check us out on Twitter! @morrilet (me) @JIHlucky7 (Jeremy).
First Ludum Dare for me!
And I’m excited! This is my first Ludum Dare.
As the most people seem to use this topic for their post so do I.
It’s my first Ludum Dare, I cleared my schedule for the weekend (hopfefully enough of it) to take part. I hope I can come up with a fun game and hope I won’t fail to horribly (even tho I doubt to have success at all, as I have no Idea yet where to start :D)
Edit: As some people post it. Most likely using Unity and Photoshop. As I can’t model at all I hope I can think of a 2D Game or else I probably also use Blender. And for sound-effects I’ll use sfxr
Edit2: getting 6-7 hours sleep and join in 1 – 2 hours late for the fun. I am hyped
This is my first time doing a game jam. 😀
Good luck everyoone!
Here we go! Ludum Dare 37! First time doing this! I am so excited!

PROGRAMS:
-Windows 10 Pro
-Game Maker: Studio 1.4
-Piskel
-Kenney Studio
-Xsplit
-Spotify (Music is a must have)
I wanted so much to post a “I’m in” message on the new site… next time!
For this ludum dare it will be 48 h of ubiquitous fun with: java + libgdx + cgmusic + paint.net !
This will be my first Ludum Dare.
I’ll most likely be programming in either TypeScript or Java with libGDX.
As for the tools I’ll be using:
Time to make some awesome games; good luck and happy game making to everyone!
Two of my friends and I will be participating tonight. I am Ryan, my team is made up of Nick and Matt.
No idea what software… Probably Unity. Thanks.
I’ve never made a video game, let alone participated in Ludum Dare.
But count me in!
First Ludum Dare. Let’s see how this goes…
Tools:
Testing out some waters here; I’ve always wanted to partake in LD, but I’ve chickened out due to time constraints and such. This time I thought I’d just go for it to see what it really takes, so I can be better prepared for the upcoming ones. I know I’m a bit short on time this weekend, but at least this gives me a chance to take a look into how much doing a game jam on your own really takes.
I really liked the theme section this time around so I got to push myself to try this out. Who knows, maybe I’ll come up with something decent in three-ish days anyway. Will be trying to cook something up with Unity.
If I fail spectacularly, at least I’m better prepared for the upcoming LDs
I’m in too~
Good luck to everyone !
Hey, I’m in, in the Compo good luck everyone.

I will be participating for the first time in a game jam, ever!
Hope to produce something at least semi-playabole ^__^
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL FRIENDS !
First time we’re joining but we’re joining good!! We will be participating with a team of 3.
Located in Maasbracht/Limburg/Netherlands this is going to be fun!!!!
Only downside is that the theme is told to us at local time 3 AM…
Using the following tools:

3 friends! (from Perth, in Pico-8). First time game jammers but with some skills related to at least one area of specialisation such as code, art, and sound. Base specs 128 x 128 , 16 colours. We are all new to Pico 8 and are hoping to establish a 3 way workflow with the goal of completing a simple working level.
I’ve known about Ludum Dare for a while now but my friend and I thought we’d toss our hats into the ring.
We’ll probably be using:
Excited to give this a shot!
I’m in ! Good Lu’k All !
Hello everyone,
I’ve been following the last couple of LDs and finally decided to try it out by myself this weekend.
I’m kinda nervous but very confident that I can create something great (For me. Hopefully for you guys too).
I’ll be using Monogame (C#) and Visual Studio. My drawing skills are basicly non existend, so be prepared!
Good luck to everyone!
Translation —> I’m In!
I’ll be doing the Compo and this is my 5th Ludum Dare.
I’m using Gamemaker: Studio.
Woo! Yeah!
I’ll be working in C++11 with SFML in CodeBlocks.
I’ll probably use sfxr and famitracker for sound stuff, and mspaint or maybe gimp for graphics.
GLHF all!
This is going to be my first Ludum Dare. I’m glad to see a lot of other folks who are new to the experience all over the website. Very excited to participate, should be a ton of fun, and a good chance to sharpen up the absolutely maddening variety of skills that are used in game making.
I’m doing this to try to round out my collection of Time Crunch Art. I’ve done two 24 hour play festivals and a 72 hour film, hopefully this isn’t too much worse than those. It’s certainly new in that I’m going solo for this one. Good luck to everyone, especially to me, I’m going to need it.
Hey guys,
my first Ludum Dare event just by myself!
It’s gonna be more about learning than making a game, but that’s the path I’ve chosen!
Tools:
Microsoft Visual Studio + Silver (excellent implementation of Swift by RemObjects)
It’s gonna be huuuge!
A.
Our first dev jam! So exciting!
Good luck everyone!
I’m in! This will be my 4th Ludum Dare but the first time in the jam. I’m excited to be working with some one else instead of solo.
I’ll be using:
Not sure what will be used on the art side of things yet. I’m super excited and can’t wait to see some awesome games.
Super excited for LD37. Hopefully it will be better than that rushed mess I made in LD36, so I figured I’d start improving by practicing pixel art. Here’s an idea for a hero character.
Always late arriving but, here I am I can not miss a Ludum Dare.
Engine: Unity 5.5;
Graphics: Paint.net;
Music: FL Studio 11;
Sound: bfxr.net;
Tags: LD37
And scared, gonna be trying to use Unreal Blueprints to create it :)!
I’m in again for what is probably the 6th time. Going to do compo with my own engine for the third time! Sadly this time I haven’t had the time to add anything new to it as preparation for LD. I will also have a few things to take care of tomorrow so I won’t have the whole weekend. See you in ~12 hours and good luck!
Things I will use:
Team Hocker

Looking forward to this, hope to sneak in a Christmas theme to the Game this year. Doing JAM probably.
Tools:
Second Dare and sixth gamedev challenge. Let’s do this!
Will be making my second submission for Ludum Dare using:
Let the games begin!
I have never tried to make a game before, but there is a lot of coffee in my kitchen. It will be interesting!
Good luck to everyone!
And sorry for my English.
Joining in for the JAM once again!
A team of 4 (now with individual accounts!):
-Albuixech
-Bigbugaudio <- gotta love that name!
-Ionthas
-Xarras
Working with Unity, Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Ableton Live, and probably Computers in general.
See you soon!
Tally ho!
I’ve returned for my seventh Ludum Dare and, ooh isn’t this an exciting one? A new site! Fancy that!
So much in my life has changed since the last one. I’m now a student, living in digs and living it up. I’ve acquired new skills and met new people. Life’s good!
The one thing I haven’t done, is learned Unity yet.
So, like I say every time, it’s back to using GameMaker Studio. I have, in fairness, begun to learn the ins and outs of Unity, but not enough yet to make something substantial. Next time, I swear it.
Joining me, is my friend, SmartWilliam, artist extraordinaire. We collaborated last time and it went swimmingly, so this time it’ll hopefully be even better!
I am super hyped for this one, since I’m living alone now I might stream it! Then as soon as the Ludum Dare is over, I’m going home for the holidays. Very happy.
Good luck, and see you all tomorrow!
Taha
Here’s a terrible graphic that I didn’t make, rather it was made using a generator:

Well I was all excited for this LD until I found out I had a 5 hour AP English study session tomorrow. What kind of world is this where we are required to do school on weekends! Anyways, I’m in if I get all my work done.
Using:
Unity (probably)
Gamemaker Studio (if I don’t use Unity)
Audacity for sound editing
LMMS if I get around to music making
Inkscape, Krita, and GIMP for image editing
BFXR for sound effects
Blender for 3D stuff
Good luck to y’all! Get ready to fire up your code editor’s and coffee pots!
This time will not be like the first one, excluding excitement and desire… I’m ready ^^
Let’s do this. I’m back by myself this year, after the disaster of trying to work with other people last time (who needs ’em anyway?). Everyone vote for “Save yourself, not the world” by the way. I have a great idea for it.
USING:
Third time’s a charm.

Alright, I’ll be participating for the 3rd time!
I’ll be going for the same tools as previous times:
Engine: Unity
Graphics: Aseprite, Photoshop
Audio: Audacity, EnergyXT
Good luck and have fun, everyone!
Cosine here, back for my 6th LD. I’m in! (< title context) Last time I had to leave on Sunday so I never got to finish. I should be free for most of this weekend though!
I’ll list the tools I expect to use, but it’ll probably end up being different. After all, last time I planned on using phaser.io but ended up using vanilla SVG. And the time before I was going to use phaser.io and I ended up using vanilla javascript+canvas. This was because I had an idea for a game, that would lend itself better for that platform. I think that’s the best way to do it! Honestly at this point I’m decent enough at learning platforms and horrible enough at all my platforms that I can even pull off using a whole new platform if it works best for my idea.
But I suspect that I will use:
The tools I’ll almost definitely use are:
Also taken right off google images. I’m writing off my laptop; pictures are hard, ok?

Gotta practice for band anyway, so I’ll probably record my band pieces.
Two times ago I took a really simple concept and juiced it, but I fine-tuned too much. This time I’m gonna try to do the same, but instead of fine-tuning, adding particles and persistence and juice it to the jazz.
And last time I had a great idea, but the math got a little bit… woozy. I’m gonna try to really get down the idea again. I even gave up my first idea.
We’re back and super excited to be able to participate again!
Team RocketDad is:
Josh/MaggardJosh – Code
7th LD
Twitter: @maggardJosh
Twitch: MaggardJosh
Dan/DankOvens – Code / Art
3rd LD
Twitter: @dankOvens
Denver/screamrawr – Art
4th LD
Twitter: @DenverSkyline
Twitch: artcode
We are super pumped to be able to all work together again and can’t wait to see what everyone else makes!
Our goal for this round is keep the game as simple as possible so that we can polish it as much as we can.
But isn’t that the goal every time?
Yes! But this time we’re gonna try really hard.
Tools:
Unity
Visual Studio
Git with GitKraken
Crocotile 3D
Photoshop
Aseprite
BFXR
FL Studio
GifCam
Chronolapse
Coffee, lots of it
Good luck everyone! <3

Been a while since making a game, so using this jam as a refresher being I’m a little out of practice. Going to try for the Compo but will most likely end up doing The Jam.
Tools:
Unity 5.4
pixel art (if time) – Photoshop
music (if time) -Sonar Artist
If everything goes well this will be my 12th submission. I was out on a trip last August and couldn’t enter the compo, so I’m back with a vengeance
Good luck to everyone!

First Ludum Dare ever, very excited although not sure I’ll get anything done in time xD
Happy game making everyone
