Ludum Dare 45 October 4–7, 2019

I'm in!

8th LDJAM. Bring it.

I'll probably use the same programs I usually do, Gamemaker Studio 2, FL Studio, PyxelEdit, Photoshop... pretty basic stuff.

And of course, my themes:

Good luck to everyone participating this time. Can't wait!

Definitely maybe in...

I'm currently working on a side project that is almost ready enough to be published. I won't be able to join LD45 if I don't get it finished, so maybe these 30 days will work as a deadline for me.

I'm in!

I'm definitely in.Either gonna be working in Java (read Processing) or Python.

Good luck everyone. Enjoy the jam and Have a great day/night!

We are in!

Oh, yeah! Ludum Dare is coming!

This time we (@syudzius and I) are here to have as much fun as we can. That's why I won't take any part in theme voting: this process have never been any satisfying. :(

We want to take everything we can from our local LD gathering - Siberian Game Jam. This puts an extra constraint: we have to make a playable game in something like 36 hours. It defenitely is outside of my comfort zone, since I tend to wire everything together in the last 3 hours.

That's why we won't waste this month: it's time to warm up, refresh algorithms in my head, finally compose a tune and wire it together in a little game. Didn't do it before, but the idea seems good to me. :)

As for tools, I'm planning to write some JavaScript in vim. The engine I want to use this time is Kontra. It's a bare-bone engine, so we might need some additional coding beforehand. I don't know what will @syudzius use for visual art, but there's nothing better for music then good old SunVox (at least, I suppose so).

And as always, if you'll suddenly find yourself in Novosibirsk during the jam, you're wellcome to join Siberian Game Jam. We have much fun, tea and constraints. :)

Good luck, everyone! And may the theme not suck! :video_game:

Theme submissions are on... at Alakajam too?!

Clipboard01.png

For the first time in Alakajam's history, we're hosting theme voting at the same time as Ludum Dare  Our 7th Alakajam is taking place on the September 20-22th week-end, so if you're not available on early October or just feeling on jam spree, you're welcome to join us :)

Our two week theme voting system has just started, and is slightly different compared to LD: * First week is both for theme submission and slaughter * Second week features only the 10 best themes, which people rank from best to last (example from last time) * The remaining themes are then eliminated one by one live on a Twitch stream until the highest rated one remains and the jam starts!

Theme submissions and voting (only good themes pls :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:)

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Ludum No. 5

[trumpets intensify]

So yes, this will be my fifth Ludum Dare, and after the phenomenal success I had with 15 Minutes to Live last time round, I honestly feel under pressure to try and follow it up. But I'm sure once the time comes, I'll be able to relax and just create freely.

As ever, I will be creating a short, story-based game in either PICO-8 or TIC-80. Buried somewhere within it will be a reference to 15 Minutes to Live, continuing a chain of references going back to my first Ludum Dare entry, Love is a Battlefield. I look forward to creating it (I've been slacking in regards to game dev recently!), and I hope you look forward to playing it.

I'm in! Second time!

Phew, one month left and I'm already hyped!

Here are my suggestions:

Thank you all for doing this event. You're awesome.

My 2nd Ludum Dare, and i am hyped!

This october i will take part in LD again, missed out august but i am hyped for october! The new starting time means i can actually work on the game a few hours on the very first day, instead of having to crash to bed immediately after the theme reveil :-)

My theme suggestions: * Bread! * Launch this! * culinary shenanigans

See you in the jam!
