LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

Thank you all for playing and rating!

Yesterday I got only 11 ratings, so I tried posting for help. Amazingly, lots of friends showed up and helped rated my game. Now I have got 24 votes. I want to thank you all for the support. Love you guy, I am looking forward to see you again in the next jam~

[STATS] Making Progress

Here are some updated charts of voting progress. We have made quite a bot of progress in 24hrs image (6).png

You can see that most games are still in the 1-5 ratings section so there is still a lot of work to be done. image (3).png

And by far the biggest change is that every game now has at least one rating, which hopefully means at least one comment. image (5).png

One last graph for this update, it's new! image (7).png

I decided to track the voting process, and make some graphs. This is surprisingly easy to do, with google app scripts and this sites api. It hasn't been running long so there isn't any interesting trends too see yet but the bar and pie charts still look good.
* Last nights post :*

:bar_chart: Live graphs of all stats can be found here

Thanks Everyone!

Just wanted to say a final thank you for everyone who rated and provided feedback for Sling Ship. In the background I've been busy incorporating feedback, and am hoping for a Google Play release later this summer. So much to learn about game design and unity, but I'm feeling much more confident after this experience. Cheers!

For those who didn't get the opportunity to try out Sling Ship, here is the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/sling-ship-search-for-a-small-world

Thank you for submitting a game.

With ratings coming in soon, I just wanted to thank everyone who rated, played and created! I loved seeing all the supportive comments and thoroughly enjoyed playing tons of games. The LDJAM creators and community are truly great. I wish you the best of luck when results roll in!

Last Minute Ratings Begging

I'm still short a few ratings, and my guess is a lot of you are in the same boat. If you'd care to check out my entry, titled "Asteroid Field", and wouldn't mind leaving a rating and any feedback you'd like, that would be much appreciated! While you're there, drop me a comment and I'll make sure to do the same for you tonight!

Play Asteroid Field

Screenshotem20170424/em183436.png

Asteroid Field is my first ever completed game, so that's pretty exciting! It's an HTML5 (play it in your browser, no download necessary!) game built on the Phaser game engine. It's a simple defense game where you fire rockets from a small planet orbiting a star as asteroids enclose from all directions. Prevent any asteroid from colliding with this fragile planet or it's game over. Each asteroid you destroy earns you points, and in addition to your score, there is a clock so you can keep track of how long you've managed to survive.

A huge thanks to anybody who takes the time to try it out, and of course to those that already have!

Come @ Me Bro

It's been a real blast hanging with folks, rating games together, streaming, and just derping about. Thanks so much for playing our game (If you haven't yet, go give it a run!). If you like, give me a follow on Twitter and reach out, I am enjoying all the conversations and debates I've had and would love to have more folks to chat with.

@OccultSoftworks

I think we're gonna try and do a full release of ATLANTIS in the next few months, so if you enjoyed it, follow so I can show off updates and get beta testers.

Thanks all! Schedule permitting: See you next time!

We're also short =(

We voted lots but we're still short on ratings, so I'd like to take this opportunity to present a probably somewhat mostly fine game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/asgard-invitational

Pls <3 (it has particles weee)

Go to Bed Guys

Go to bed. We may not see anything until Saturday. Mike.png

Test all the games! :)

I don't know when ratings will be officially finished so until then I test and rate and test and rate.

Thanks a lot :)

I had only 15 ratings a week ago, now I have 25 ratings! Thanks to all the participants who rated my game. It was a great experience. Being my first LD game, I am happy about my game and the feedback that you guys gave. It was really helpful. If you did not play my game....

here is a link to it : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/save-ld-38

I gained so much positivity and I am hyped to make more games. Thanks again to the LD community :D

Before the results, give us a rating for Bubblenaut ! :)

We are proud to present our LD38 game : Bubblenaut !

Thank you all for the awesome ratings over these two weeks ! We are so pleased about all the positive feedback we received. How about checking the game out and give us a last minute rating ? :)

Bubblenaut is a relaxing adventure game set in an oniric world. Born inside a small planet, you will explore several realms to find the Heartfruit, and witness the might of its taste ! The game was made in 72 Hours for the Ludum Dare 38. We hope you enjoy our work :)

Thanks for your ratings! 5 ratings to go!

EDIT: Thanks a lot! Love you guys! I have enough ratings to get a score now!

Hey guys,

thanks for everyone who rated my game so far, really appreciate this! I currently have 15 ratings. I'd really love to get a score. So only 5 people need to play a quick round of my game :D

Here it is: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/smallworlds

THANK YOU!

Thank you all for the votes! And good luck to all participating! :)

The end of Ludum Dare

As the Ludum Dare ends soon we just want to thank you all for the amazing feedback we got!

Our entry was a bit experimental and had the big risk that the players don't reach the end and just get stuck in their daily routine. But we're really happy that so many actually reached the end and escaped their loop! You guys can't imagine how happy we are about each comment that shows that the real message was understood.

So again thank you all for being so awesome! And remember:

Don't get stuck in your Daily Routine, life has a lot more to offer!

Team Samurai-Spark

A BIG THANK YOU

A big thank you to everyone who played and rated my game. This is my first ludum dare so the feedback I received was very important to me. I'm already working on improving the game based on the feedback and hope to release the game on playstore and steam after adding sufficient polish and gameplay tweaks. I'm not asking for ratings anymore but if you feel like you can play the game and leave some feedback. For the best experience play the post jam version. 4625.png Here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/warpys-world

Still not have enough rating !!!

I still need 16 votes :worried: :worried: !!!! Pls help me and show me your opinions about the game pls !!! Here is it : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/ghost-cat . Thanks !!!!

What a great experience!

Thanks to everyone who played and/or rated my very first Ludum Dare entry!

Match the Fleas: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/match-the-fleas

It was great fun - unfortunately I have been away due to family illness but am rating as many games as I can before the cut off!

I also made a little 3-part blog post for my post mortem detailing my experience over the 3 days, tools I used and what the game would look like if I actually knew what I was doing! Haha. Well there is a little time left for rating, would love if you could have a look, and I will return the favour :)

Last day for playing !

Last day for the votes, I still need some ratings; I'm very sorry I was quite busy and hadn't a lot of time to play all the games I wanted but I did my best !

Here is my game : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/lonely-moon

se you on the other side of votings ;)

We're doing this!

We have gotten some amazing feedback on Murder Mitosis these last few weeks, and we have finally decided to turn this into an actual game!

We have set up a Facebook page and of course murdermitosis.com is being redesigned. If you follow us there or on Twitter we will keep you updated on what's going on.

The plan is to redo the entire thing from scratch, since the code got quite messy as the jam-deadline approached. We will also keep the scope rather small for the final product, as local multiplayer games are unfortunately not that great of an investment from a business perspective. We have grown rather fond of our little game and had a lot of fun playing it with friends, so we are dedicated to invest some time into adding new features, rebalancing the gameplay, and adding some more polish.

We have deliberately not touched the Jam-version after the deadline, even though there were a few features we were itching to add. However, I now have a blank project open and a new repository set up and we are ready to give this another go!

closeup.gif

What would you like to see added?

We are looking for some more feedback, not on the jam version, but on stuff you would like to see added in a future version. Here's a few things we will definitely add based on feedback we have gotten thus far:

  • Control remapping
    • This is rather obvious, but there was no time for this during the jam.
  • Make Food more visible
    • Maybe get rid of the Food altogether and instead have the player regain energy by staying in motion. Once they get stuck between creatures, they will start to die.
  • Power Ups
    • Perhaps make players stronger, or increase the reach of their conversion attack.

But we want to get the very best out of our little game, so if you have more suggestions, please let us know!

Stuck for votes? Start voting then!

Dear devs trolling for votes, do yourselves a favor and start voting too. That'll make your game climb to the top of the main list at https://ldjam.com/games/.

Also, please help our endangered species for that extra special karmic magic (really just an algorithm which rewards common decency): https://ldjam.com/games/danger/.

:octopus: bids you endless love and eternal judgment

Can we get 4 more?!

Hey, Id really appreciates it if you could go and check out my game. It would be awesome if I could get 4 more!(I already have more than 20)! I always rate your game back If you comment so it's a Win-Win! Hope to see you in the CommentsLogo.png

All The Best!

Hey guys, thanks a lot for voting my game, and I have tried to rate as many games as I could. Now that judging is coming to an end, I want to wish you all the best for the results. Till then, rate others' games and help them to reach 20. Alright, see you then!

P.S. Can anybody please tell me when the results are gonna be out??

Edit: Got the answer!

Still time to reach goal!

Hi guys. I'm still far from the goal, but I will see if I can get there today by rating a lot of games and hopefully get some rating for my game. So if you rate my game and comment it, I will rate yours too. Let's see how many in the danger zone we can save today, thanks! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/leafcutters

My First Ludum Dare experience was AWESOME! Thank you for the feedbacks.

It is so fun receiving and reading some feedback for my game specially for a beginner in Game Development like me. It definitely helped me a lot and gave me hope on creating more games. I wish I can join more Ludum Dare in the future.

THANK YOU to all those who played and gave feedback to my game.

I would also like to congratulate everyone who participated in this game jam specially for those who joined for the first time just like me.

I have posted a lot about my game for the past 3 weeks, maybe I shall probably stop now.

Just an Advertisment:

Still need 8 votes !!!

Pls help me with votes and feedback  : GAME1.png https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/ghost-cat

My second selfwritten song!

Hey guys,

first of all I have to say I am an huge portal fan and I love the credit songs! So I decided to write a credit song for each game we make. If there is enough time. This time it was and I wrote and record in the last four hours a song for our game.

I am sure that not everyone play our game until the end and because of that some people don't hear the song. In the comments I got almost no feedback. Therefore I make this blogpost. I would like to get a little bit more feedback. Is it so bad that only one mentioned it? Or do you think that it's unusual or bad to make a song for the credits?

I'm not 100 percent satisfied with it, because I had a sore throat and have to sing quiet because it was very late and I'm a bit shy and did not want the others to hear me sing. (I know it's ridiculous... But you can't imagine how much overcoming this costs me each time to add and publish a song to the game)

Enough of words. Here is my song:

Still in need of votes. Check out tower defense/survival game Goblin Assault

Sem título.png

Goblin Assault is a mix between Survival and Tower Defense. We still need lots of votes, so please check it out!

The game is about building Archer Towers and Barricades to kill and prevent goblins from reaching the mighty Crystal of Ididnthavetimetocreatealore. In order to do that, you can build and upgrade Towers - that deal tons of damage, but are fragile - or build and upgrade Barricades - which deal no damage, but have tons of HP.

There are 10 waves. Between each wave, you’ll have about 38 seconds (Because it’s LD38) to collect wood and stone - which are going to be used to build structures (You can only build during preparation time). You can also use your melee weapon to knock enemies and deal little damage to them. Speaking of which, your melee weapon is very smart and automatically changes to an axe, pickaxe or sword whenever you need it to.

{SPOILERS}: Some waves contain special enemies: a boss on waves 5 and 10, and a special enemy that buffs your melee weapon if killed at waves 3, 6 and 9. There are also 3 normal enemies; a Melee, an Archer and a Tank, which will appear on all the waves (Not necessarily all of the 3) {/SPOILERS}

The game might seem to be too hard at first - which was kind of the intention - but don’t give up on it! You’ll find it easier with each new attempt you do. The game is also not very long (ranging from 2 to ~15 minutes per run), so you don’t lose much time when you get a game over.

For the controls, you’ll find them and some more information on its itch.io page, where you will be downloading the game.

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/goblin-assault

If you enjoyed the game, check out my twitter (@Syndelis) for some other cool games I’m currently working on.

Cheers.

Word cloud beat poem

So I managed to figure out this seemingly popular word cloud thing, fed it my LD38 entry, and got back a lovely machine-regurgitated beat poem. I found it an extremely accurate ~~description~~ abstraction of CryoDream's overall user experience as well as of its development process.

:octopus: urges you to help your endangered peers

And I Thought I Was Done...

Seriously, I thought I was done rating games, but looking at all these "Please Vote" blogs, I think I can't stop right now. So, please post your game in the comments and I will try to play it. Please post only web based (browser) games and be quick about it, because I haven't got much time.

So what are you waiting for? Go on, post the links!

Edit: Sorry, time up!! I rated as many as I could!

Until Next Time

Well, I think that's going to be all the time I have to judge this time around. Would have liked to do a judging stream, but have just been super busy with work the last few weeks.

I look forward to the next time around though. Will have to see if I can actually do two in a row and spend more than 12 hours on an entry out of 72. At least I used a technology that I had already started using a bit this time! That always helps too.

Keep on voting everyone!

OddBallCover.png

Odd Ball

Play as a baby bird in our first-ever Ludum Dare! Thanks for all the support~

Edit: I really underestimated this community! We got enough votes not even an hour after I originally posted this. Thank you everyone, so much, for reviewing and rating our game. We're going through them now, and I promise everyone who's commented will have their games reviewed by us today. Cheers and happy gaming!

Hi everyone,

This is @colm-eccles and my first Ludum Dare. We've always been interested, but never really got anything completed... until now! Enjoy our first Visual Novel game with 5 different endings.

We're reaching out here because we just need a few more votes to be eligible for a score! If you play, vote, and comment on our game, I'll play yours in return :)

-> Play Flight of Claude <-

I tried to get a gif working, but it turned out laggy and choppy. So I hope you enjoy this short, 30-second long demo video.

Cheers,

Colm and Lily

Please fix this!

Test.PNG @Pov Please make that you can just write a command once cause see what happened in my comments!

A final push! Let's rate together!

Today is the day! No idea how much time we've got left, so let's make a final effort! Leave me a comment with a link to your game, and I'll see upon commenting on it. While you're at it, please take a look at our game, Petty Puny Planet 38. I hope that it's of your liking.

2109.png

Well the, what are you waiting for? Show me what you got.

While I'm here, congratulations to everyone that participated on the LD38. I got to play so many cool games and experiments, and I'm looking forward to what you can come up with in the future. In behalf of our team, Whales and Games, I want to wish you all a happy judging!

Final rating before the end.

Hi guys I want to thank everyone who help me to get 26 ratings in each categeory. If you have time please check my game if you like to test it. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/monster-island/

Amazing!

I just want to say that as my first Ludum Dare, this was amazing! I had tons of fun making a whole game around a theme, and although being more constrained makes it stressful at first, I felt it was more as guidance which helped me to actually end up creating my first finished game! Of course there is still a lot of work to do to improve it, but it's got a beginning and an end which is more than most of my half-finished projects in the past. I've had tons of fun rating everyone's games too, and see I still have lots to learn! Have a good final stretch everyone, good luck with your ratings!

Take a gander at my first Ludum Dare entry, Glop Plots! I'd love to get some more ratings and feedback before time is up!

@pov @zwrawr and all the github contributors, thanks to you as well for working so hard on the website!
And kudos to everyone who finished a game and to everyone who tried, it's certainly a challenge to undertake and it takes a special kind of developer to do it
Unfortunately I probably won't be participating in Ludum Dare 39, but I look forward to LD 40 and plan to participate in that.
Thanks again to everyone!

Made a video of my game

Just wanted to post this video of my game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08xvQPzqObg

OK, you've seen through my cunning ruse. It's true that this is a cynical attempt to garner last minute votes on my game by getting some visibility on the front page.

Did it work?

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/gravity-wars

Regardless, huge thanks to everyone who has voted so far!

This was our first Ludum Dare, but it won't be our last!

Thanks everyone!

First, I just want to say we had a GREAT TIME doing this event, both making our game and playing all of yours.

It was a bit painful watching some streamers play our entry, because we weren't able to get all of the instructions into the game on time, and by the time we realized that it was a bit... un-intuitive... it was too late to update it.

We have an update for the HTML5 entry ready to go for the moment voting ends, we'll swap it out for the 'better' version, but until then, anyone who plays is going to have to read the instructions on the itch.io page.

Here's to all of you!

Still, this event has been inspirational - it's incredible how well the indie dev community represented themselves here. I honestly believe that it's one of the FEW online events where you won't find participants flaming eachother. I've seen nothing but honest, respectful, and helpful feedback. I'd like to make an E-toast to all of you fellow game devs!

Our game is not hurting for ratings but...

cosmicemcleaner/emcover_640x512.png

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/cosmic-cleaner

If you're bored, and want to play an HTML5 game, go for it! (be warned, I am at work and will not be able to return any reviews for the time being!)

The last hours ?!

Hey guys, seeing @pov's twitter it seems it's going to be last hours of rating. It's been really intense ! We rated more than 100 games to get this working and getting some low rated games on board.

It was our first LD and it was soooo coool ! For many reasons : first I really loved thoses 72 hours with my mates @himeija and @Raoul. We didn't expected that much feedback for our first entry ! The main issues that we had was about the physic of the game but well... we had a system and no time to rebuild so we did what was possible with what we made :) (Good news : we rebuilt the entire physic system and it works perfectly ! We will soon releasse a post-LD build with new sounds made from our sound designer and so many new things !)

I hope we will be available for august but as it is holidays I am no sure, but we'll do the next one !!

Message to everybody : Please keep rating games, according to the stats it's way better now, but if we can get 50% games into the rating system it can be awesome :) If you didn't saw them you can check this link : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pSJKbOCHCM_1kau6w4u4mieggZeAHSIyQ26W71jLdj4/edit#gid=475301586

RoboLand : Free key giveaway [itch.io + Steam]

BanneremItch/emio.png

LD38 Entry : RoboLand

Signup Form: Roboland Early Access

Now that all the voting rush is over, I would like to make a small announcement regarding RoboLand's commercial release. After several post LD updates, I have somehow managed to set a visual aesthetics so far. And in the past few days, I was busy pushing more updates/fixing bugs and completing the game loop.

Current dev version has progressed a lot compared to the LD entry. So, I think it would be much appropriate to present/distribute it in a better manner than keep updating the LD38 entry. I'm planning to make an official public alpha announcement by next week. (Need to work on marketing stuff and trailer by that time).

Feel free to check the LD38 entry and if you enjoy the game and would like to see/get access to further versions, please sign up using the form above and you will receive a free itch.io + steam key (when available).

Too much traffic!

Oh dear, some websites linked my game and my (free) host didn't like that! For the last 3 days it capped at 200(!) users. Sorry to those who couldn't play!

Pineshore Planet

Things should be resolved now, thanks to Bontegames for pointing out something went horribly wrong on my website!

Still a few hours remain for voting! Good luck all!

Pineshore Planet

Is it me or is it really the 20th?

I mean, in my timezone it's the 20th now. But it isn't in the US yet, no?

I hope it's not a timezone bug on the website, because otherwise I expect the results to be available NOW!

Post Jam Releases Should be Boldly Marked as such

There are probably a number of games where people are tricked into playing and rating the post jam version* of the game. EG: Roboland**, where even a streamer got confused and played the post jam version. So I propose either post jam releases must be boldly declared as that, or the jam version must be boldly declared as that.

* : some changes after the jam is allowed, porting, and last second bug fixes (if you are doing more then 1 bug fix you are probably doing it wrong. (Source: You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make)) **: Since this game was likely rated mostly by its post jam version I think the disqualification or reducing the rating received should happen. And yes the difference between the versions is huge enough to propose this.

PS: I don't think the dev of roboland intentionally tried to deceive users.

This was fun!

310 games played and rated, 72 hours jammed, 1 game built (Murder Mitosis).

This was amazing!

Our game was played 640 times and we have received 120 comments. Our sincerest thanks go out to all those who have given their feedback:

Hi, thanks for the people who played my game and leaved some feedback. There was a lot of good games in this LudumDare that I enjoyed, It's great to see the quality level of some games that was doing in just 2 or 3 days.

As my second LudumDare I'm happy ^^

if some of you wants to play my game and leave some feedback it could be great https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/little-wild-invasion

If you want to share your game you can leave the link here in the comments and I will play it.

Thank you! :)

Escape from the bygone is 3 votes short of 20

I played it and it is pretty neat concept, it would be great to see it get a score. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/escape-from-the-bygone

Save the Endangered Games!

In the past 24 hours, only 60 games have passed the scoring threshold (avg. 20 ratings).

I urge all fellow devs to rate entries from the Danger list, especially the first few pages, so that more games get a chance to be scored.

A friendly reminder that the best way to obtain votes is by voting on other games yourself, since this will make your entry climb to the top spots in the game lists. It's shameful to see that some of our most popular entries have had little to zero interest in returning the major input and kindness afforded to them by others.

:octopus: compels you to vote NOW

Last Chance (no pressure)

i don't need votes, but if you would like to play before it ends, you may play my game here (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/ragdoll-wars) :) Rock on!

Just Another Rating Away

Hey. I am one rating away from qualifying overall, so if someone one or some people would take the time just to do one more whole rating i would appreciate it. The game is here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/just-another-pocket-universe

Finitely Big

Would appreciate anyone who is able to check out my game and leave a rating (my first LD!) would love to have enough ratings to qualify :) 800.png

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/finitely-big

Help me, Ludum Dare Kenobi, you're my only hope!

I waited until the last day to get my ratings in, like a dumbo, and now am in need of ratings myself. I'm sitting on 8/20 right now, and I'm worried that I won't end up getting to see my results, which - while not the end of the (small) world, is always disappointing. If any of you have a few minutes to spare could you please to me a favor and check out and rate my game? No download required, it's just Javascript that runs straight in the browser. Thanks a bunch! <3

Chroma

Since this is the last couple of hours for voting, why not give our game Chroma a go?

header.png

There has been an awakening on the moon of Juovis… An army is rising, commanded by a strong force they call ‘The Guardian’ - Disciple of Astro. He will use his army to destroy the planet Oarus, then conquer the solar system! You, a complete badass, called to arms and fought the invasion, until they captured you, and locked you in a space prison orbiting around the moon. Locking you up was a bad idea, and you’re thirsty for revenge.

In Chroma you’ll fight through hordes of enemies, to find The Guardian and kill him, taking back the freedom that’s yours!

When Will We Get Our Results?

We are supposed to get them today, right. How come I am not getting the results?

We need some ratings :)

We need just a few more ratings before time is up. If you like really short games that are written in C, then this is for you.

The main objective of the game is to keep an ecosystem in equilibrium using GUN, LIGHTNING and METEOR.

So basically there is 3 species in the game which is the Slimes, Rabbits and the Rhinos. If one of the three species’s became extinct then it’s game over.

Comment down your game and I will play it and rate it.

Follow development of Warpy's World

Hey guys once again a big thank you for all the ratings and feedback you've given. Since I'm turning this into a full game thought that I would like to have you good people around me during the development phase of the game. Warpy's World is going to be a game where you'll be driven by your desire to explore the weird game world and discovering the game mechanics on your own. There will be minimum handholding and everything is upto you to find. The world is already brimming with secrets with the build I'm working on right now. This is a puzzle platformer at heart so I'm looking to build a game where there is at least more than one solution to a given situation. Also there will be boss fights :) I can't live without them. 4625.png

One last push

Hello everyone! I guess the results will be shown soon, so I'll try posting about our game once again for the last time :)

Our game is like a survival/resource management game, where you control 4 people so they can survive in a boat until they get to the island

Here some screenshots of it: scr1.png scr2.png

Check it out if you can, we would appreciate it :)

Thanks, спасибо!

ESJ 1.1.0 - Post-LD Patch

title.jpg

Results go live in a couple hours, so I can finally put out the first patch post-LD, based on the feedback I've been getting from the kind players who tried my game!

Movement

I received some feedback that ESJ's turning speed was too slow, which made some situations and navigation frustrating to play. I've tuned up ESJ's rotational speed, so that you have a bit more freedom and space to recover when moving to aim and pushing the planet.

- ESJ rotational speed increased from 2 to 3 degrees per frame

Arcade Mode Balancing

Arcade Mode was not playtested as much as Endless, and there was some pacing issues in early levels, as well as some difficulty spikes in later levels. The levels have been fine-tuned now, hopefully for a smoother experience.

- Stage 1: Length down from 3:00 to 1:00

- Stage 2: Length down from 3:00 to 1:00

- Stage 3: Length down from 3:00 to 2:00

- Stage 5: Spawn timers - Regular (20 > 40), Doubler (10 > 20)

- Stage 6: Length down from 3:00 to 2:30, Spawn timers - Regular (20 > 35), Doubler (30 > 50), Speeder (5 > 10)

- Stage 7: Length down from 3:00 to 2:00, Spawn timers - Doubler (5 > 10)

- Stage 8: Spawn timers - Speeder (2 > 3)

- Stage 9: Length down from 5:00 to 3:00, Spawn timers - Regular (20 > 30), Doubler (30 > 40), Speeder (10 > 20)

Quality of Life

- Arcade Mode: Timer now properly displays 00:00 when the stage is completed.

Ratings?

I've spent this morning playing more games, and I've noticed a lot of the top 'Grade' games have little to no ratings given out themselves, how is this possible? How are games like that getting any kind of traction; one of the top games has literally rated < 5 games, 0 comment karma yet it has > 120 ratings? Am I missing something? Feel free to comment with your own game; I'd rather play games that have active users!

Weird Ratings Info!?

Should this concern me, or is it like that for everyone else?

I did it...

Echoes

I figured that with the results coming so soon I'd make on last push. I don't need any more ratings, but more feedback would be greatly appreciated.

In Echoes you play as a small bat lost in a dark, claustrophobic cave system.

Desperate game devs

Hello people,

While you probably all are waiting for the results, my friend Cydouzo and I are still desperatly trying to vote so our game can get ranked. However, we are probably the only ones doing this.

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/hopeless-void

Sure, we could have voted for games before the deadline, and we probably don't deserve to have votes more than another game, but since you're waiting anyways, why not vote?

And look at the screenshot, doesn't it peek your interest? (Just slightly?)

Thank you!

RoboLand : Explaining my stand

Few hours ago, I came across a blog post mentioning I've violated/cheated the rules. And here's my explanation on it.

LD Entry I did completed the compo entry few hours prior to the submission and published here. And after a short nap, I decided to continue development of this game. At that point the game was chewing up a lot of resources during runtime, so my priority was to fix the performance issue first.

So I've changed shaders and improved the water logic and models for better performance which led to the current visuals. Then I updated the LD build with new updates. That day a user @timeracers mentioned about adding the LD build for judgement along with the source code. So I did that and from that day onwards, the game page has links to WIP, LD Entry & Source code.

*Post LD updates * Ever since there were links for both builds, I received a lot of feedback from people testing both builds, all of the feedbacks were really a catalyst for further dev. So I kept working on my game, and with each updates/bug fixes I made a post here mentioning it. But didn't pushed any major new additions/features even to the latest build (Even till now).

Like in the other post mentioning, I didn't tricked @occultone to play the post LD version. I did mentioned about the post LD updates in the request I sent to him. Most of the newly introduced things were buggy during the stream so I removed some of them after the stream. And I'm pretty much sure that RoboLand is not the only game had major post LD updates and streamers played it. So targeting my entry regrading this is not right.

*To fellow devs * I'm sure some of you guys know the pain of taking a game from playable state to make it presentable and polishing it. For the past few weeks I have been pushing myself a lot. Fixing inherited bugs because of the bad design in the initial state is such an overwhelming task, especially when you're a one man army.

Please judge on my LD Jam version, but feel free to play and comment about the post LD version also. And I would love to hear and willing to improve things with any constructive criticism you may provide regarding the two builds. After putting a lot of hard work, getting called as cheater and/or being targeted is kind of heart breaking and depressing.

I hope you guys would understand. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Based on suggestions.

While we wait for the results...

Who is not anxious to find out the results of his game?!

While we wait... why don't you try https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/end-of-a-world - a rather fast-to-play-or-loose resource clicker?

Oh and a word of warning: those nuclear plants tend to blow up

nuclear-boom.gif

Thank you!

Whilst we wait for the results, I just want to put out a thank you to all the people who left comments on my game. I'm sorry that I can't thank you individually, but all the feedback was fantastic, and I really appreciate it all. It really helps me grow as a developer and create better creative content for the future. Thank you:

Thank you for the speedy ratings! :-D

Just a quick thank you for reaching over 20 ratings in the most important categories!

Although I'm curious how the others would turn out, if they get to at least 20 too.

Give it a look, if you like switching modes, quantum mechanics, a simplistic visual style or some of the other things it features. Being a quantum entity that is both a wave and a particle isn't easy.
