Count me in LD38
Will be using:
Gamemaker Studio 2, Photoshop and Audacity!
Going to be my first game jam.
I am a new game developer and new to Ludum Dare. Super excited to get creative with everyone!!!
This will be my 3rd Ludum Dare.
Engine: GameMaker Studio
Art: GIMP & Aseprite
Sound FX: ChipTone
Hopefully I’ll have learned my lesson from last time to scale back on art so I can actually finish the game.
Hey, i’m in for LD38 (Unity + WebGL as usual). Still not giving up on idea of fitting 4x game into 48 hours =)
Good luck everyone!
I wrote a little webapp frontend for GreaseMonkey’s classic AutoTracker-BU script, so you can generate some tunes for your game. Let me know if it works, I have a suspicion there are bugs in the deployment so if it goes down email me at yux50000 <at> hotmail.com and I’ll see if I can fix it before the LD!
Of course all credit goes to GM himself, as I didn’t write the algorithms to generate the music, just the web frontend.
Hey people, I don’t know if this kinda post is allowed but for practicing for Ludum Dare I told my brother to give me a random theme for game, and he gave me the theme “Robots”.
So I made a platformer in 48 hours.
You can try it here :-
Can anyone be kind enough to give me suggestions on how I can improve for Ludum Dare/improve the game?
Last ludumdare 37, the competition happened the next day after our last exam for the week. This ludumdare 38 will happen just before our exams. I just hope that I can join, cause it’s the anniversary, maybe we’ll be getting more attention than last time, what a waste if I let the opportunity pass.
update: (exam starts on april 19, too lazy to look at exam schedule Zz., maybe I can join on jam)
But, before that have a look at my video on how to always win in any online chess game. I bet 100% you can even defeat the pros by watching this (THIS IS NOT A PRANK):

Not originally made for Mini LD, but was made in 48 hours and in the time so I thought why not submit it 😀

*Note – Originally made in 48 hours as a practice for Ludum Dare*
A simple platformer where you have to beat a deceptive AI.
Controls – Arrow Keys, Holding up will result in a higher jump
Pretty much self explanatory, I would have made it better but time restrictions *_*
Enjoy, 3 levels including a boss level. Good luck. It’s not that hard I guess.
It includes a catchy tune so I hope it qualifies for this jam 😀
Screenshots are included 😀
As a designer programmer, I’ve been wanting to collaborate for a LD, but just can not find an artist. I’m OK at artwork but I got to thinking… what if a team of us got together to make our own games, but each contributes a piece or two or artwork into a pool that we could all use for the games we’re working on?
I think it would add an extra layer to the challenge, but might be fun too. How about anyone interested?

Hi,
I just uploaded some Dithering Brushes for Photoshop CS5+ to itch.io (free, ofcourse).
I will be using them for making pixel art for my games made during LDJAM 38 which I will stream on my twitch channel. I couldn’t find a reason not to share these brushes, which I find really useful. And yes, I’m still one of those people who think that Photoshop is just that small bit easier to work with than most dedicated pixel art tools.
So if you are with me on that check them out.
This package contains common dithering patterns and brushes, created for Photoshop CS5 and later.
There is some logic in the design of these brushes. Which shows you that most dithers are made from others of lower density, and have the inverse of themselves. This will make sense when you see the names of the patterns and brushes.
Download from abductedPlatypus.itch.io, where I will also upload updated versions of this package.
Make note that to make good dithered art you should not rely on purely these brushes. It is mainly intended for quick ‘n dirty pixel art, that should be fine grained after your initial dithering. E.g. the 0.250 Alt patterns do not align well with the ABC pattern, however the 0.250 OA pattern amplifies (one kind of aliasing) itself. Also not all shifts are within this package (and brushes are not the solution for that either).*
A tip to help you with avoiding annoyances is to assign to each color either to OABC or DEFG brushes, this will make it easier to make dither with 3 or more colours.*
* If you don’t understand this text, please tryout the Brushes a bit first, it should make sense after trying them out for a bit.
Setup Photoshop
Make sure you disable anti-aliasing for your tools (checkboxes and dropdown for fonts). In preferences set your grid size to 16 with 4 sub-divisions or 1 with 1 sub-division and use pixels for all measures. And always use anti-aliasing. (This page seems to explain setting it up well.)Also checkout this if you need “simple” dithering for backgrounds.
This will be my first time jam using Unreal Engine 4, previously I have used Unity and SFML.
Been a while since i haven’t participate , will try to do my best this time to finish.
I’ll likely be using:
– Unity / Construct 2
– Photoshop
– Audacity
This will be my first Ludum Dare.
Engine/framework/library: Unity/Pygame
Art: Gimp
sound fx: ???
music: no kidding!
I have previous experience in HGD(Home Game Development) or Indie Games.
I have a laptop now. I’ll see if I have the time. or skills.
Ludum Dare 38 – I’m in. I’m writing in JRE 6.

Ayee, it’s Ludum Dare time again!
For you returners, settle down for another go! For you new people, have fun and enjoy yourself. Try not to worry too much 😉
No matter your situation, learn something and make something magical next weekend!
Only my 2nd compo. First one wasn’t awful but I hope to be able to improve.
Will be using Unity, CorelDraw and making strange noises into the mic.
Thank you.
