LD33 August 21–24, 2015

I’m in!

This will be my seventh Ludum Dare and – hopefully – my fourth successful entry in a row.

Gonna be making my game using Love2D, with Aseprite for graphics, BFXR for sound effects, and FL Studio for music. (Possibly Tiled for maps if it ends up being that kind of game!)

Wish me luck!

My goal this time is to be a good host and get locals interested in game jams. I’m hosting my first event in Bozeman, MT. You can find us in the list of real-world gatherings or on facebook.

With whatever time I have left, I’m going to fly solo and take a break from Unity.

  • Haxe flixel
  • Photoshop
  • vim
  • Logic Pro X

Good luck everyone!

Maybe in, made a game for this other jam

Over the summer I participated in the A Game By Its Cover game jam, which just ended yesterday. I made a game called Eternal Eski based on a fake cartridge I found on famicase.com, and it’s about building spaceships and controlling them by typing various commands into the ship’s computer. As a result of this I’m currently quite tired, but if I find the theme interesting I’m likely going to do LD too.  I’ve been doing a lot of Dart + WebGL stuff for AGBIC, so I think I’m probably going to step away from C++ for a while. Raw WebGL is certainly a challenge, but if I prepare sufficiently it should be fine.

I will be using:

– Intellij IDEA

– Photoshop

– sfxr

– Dart + WebGL

Oh, and here is a link to my AGBIC game if you want try it out.

Enroll?

Do I have to enroll me for the Ludum Dare 33 or just submit my game when I have finished?

Back in LD25 you could join in lately and I don’t think much have changed since back then. To submit you only need an account on the site.

I’d recommend writing a short “I’m in” post to describe the tools of choice.

You only have to submit your game during the submission window. There’s a custom of making an “I’m in” post. Many people say things like what language and tools they’ll be using in this post – but this is not strictly required. Good luck!

It is required if you plan to do the 48h compo and use your own basecode. It should be declared (and made available to all participants who might be interested!).

Wut?!

Don’t know if I can, but I want to.  Count me in, but don’t count on anything any good, completed, or even started.  lol!  I hope I have the time to join.  This would be my second Ludum Dare.  So, I’m in!…. maybe.

Oh, since it looks like the thing to do, I’ll mention that if I do join in I’ll be using:

  • GameMaker: Studio
  • GIMP
  • Audacity (altho I will probably use freely available premade sounds and music)

I’m in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare, my first being LD30, which was one year ago. I’ve been inconveniently busy for the past two Ludum Dare dates, but I can finally get around to doing this once again in August. I won’t be too competitive with my game, I’ll just make sure to have a bunch of fun this weekend.

I will be entering in the Jam like before, these are my tools:

  • Engine – Unity
  • Language – C#
  • Modeler – Blender
  • Images – Gimp/Photoshop
  • Sound – Sfxr/Audacity

I wish everyone the best of luck! Happy game-developing!

LD33 – I’m in-ish?

Hard to believe it’s already time for another LD!  I hope to be in, but will also be about a week short of moving to Taiwan this weekend, so I’ve got a few somewhat important things to get done.  We’ll see how much time I have available?  Hopefully I can get something together.

Most likely I will be working again with Javascript and GIMP.  I have no particular plans though.  I don’t know if that’s more a sign of how busy I’ve been, or that I’ve matured enough as a compo programming to not fret it.  Perhaps both?  Good luck, everyone!  I look forward to thousands of new great games!

I’m in!

Luckily my 6 week backpacking trip ends just before the LD weekend so I’m happy to say “I’m in!”.

Tools:

Engine: Unity3D

Art: Photoshop, Blender or Paint.NET(for Pixelart)

Sound: sfxr, audacity and maybe some music with FL Studio

Let’s hope the theme is good!

Wish you all a nice LD weekend 😉

Hi Kulomin,

I’m in!

This is going to be my second LD (jam)! My weapons of choice:

  • Lots of Coffee
  • Javascript + Phaser
  • Intel XDK as IDE
  • Pitzik4’s GoTile as a starting point for tilesets
  • ProMotion / GraphicsGale / Paint .NET for editing tilesets and rest of graphics
  • Bxfr for SFX
  • cgMusic > MuseScore for music (I’m not good with music)
  • Tiled for creating maps
  • Did I mention Coffee?

Things that will make this experience more difficult/fun:

  • I’m on a trip with my family. Can only code at night
  • Very limited internet access
  • Can’t stop watching Doctor Who episodes. Really!

Of course, I wouldn’t be able to do this without my family’s support.
Good luck everyone!

Why no CoffeeScript? 😀

I’m in for the X time

Starting to feel like I’ve been in too many times to count, even though I just discovered LD a few years ago!

I’ll be using Unity3d (Or 2d if I get a specific idea for whatever the theme might be)

If I do stick with 3d, I’ll use Maya to 3d model although I haven’t quite learned how to rig animations in game yet, so I’ll have to get creative

Sound effects will of course be made with my mouth, and images will probably be made in photoshop or paint.net

I’m pretty excited for this one, it’s my last Ludum Dare before I go off to college at UC Santa Cruz!

Sound Designer Required

Hello my fellow developers,

my partner and I are requiring a sound designer to join our team for this ludum dare.

If anyone is interested please comment on this page or pop me a mail at games@givit.co.za

See you soon

I’m In

Who knows how well this Dare will turn out for me. The last two seem to have limited me time wise. But this time I have more hands on deck. So hopefully things will go well.

I hope to see all of the great games people make at the end of the Dare.

  • IDE
    • Eclipse

    • bfxr
    • Haven’t spent much time with the second, but it does seem like an upgrade.

I’m in

I’m in again :).

Engine: Unity3D

Graphics: Photoshop and maybe some illustrator.

Sound: FL Studio and Audition

I’m out-ish?

Sad to announce that I’ll probably not be able to participate this time. On 22 August (here in China, GMT+8) we’ll set off to… kind of have some training (like what soldiers do, but of course not that heavy) on a campsite…? (Not sure what you call it in English…)

Well, in short there will be only 24 hours for my game if I join. Waiting to see whether I can make a simple game that fits in the theme. My last one eventually appeared to be off-theme 😀 If not, I’ll try to give a game on December (looking forward to the new website :D). Here’s what I’ll use if an idea hits me:

  • Engine: Cocos2d-x HTML5, in JavaScript
  • Graphics: Inkscape
  • Sound (if any): Sfxr / LMMS / Audacity
  • IDE: Atom 😛

And I’m looking forward to seeing more great games! GL & HF people!

Join the Team!

Hey Darer’s! I am looking to build a small team for the upcoming Jam this weekend. I was recently apart of a team doing special effects for Space Jam (we came second) And want to meet some new people :) Primarily a programmer that uses Unity  is mostly needed XD

My weapons:

-Game Design

-Unity Shuriken

-Photoshop

-Extreme Motivation

Don’t be shy :)

isn’t the compo meant to be one person only?

Once more into de fray!

I’m back again, eager to build something interesting and hoping a nice and inspirig theme gets chosen this time!

As with the last time, my toolset is mainly unchanged:

HaxeFlixel ♥
Pixen
Tiled
BFXR
PxTone (maybe)
SublimeText

As usual, I’m aiming for the compo, but instead of spending the day coding by myself I’ll be working alongside a friend who is taking part in LD for the first time. I hope we can help each other get motivated :)

Good luck everybody!
