-Sketch3, Photoshop, Hexels

-HTML, JS, Java

Any tips for beginners like us would be highly appreciated:)

Looking forward to jam!

Keep it simple. This will be my second ld, but I strongly recommend you to make something very basic and the build onto it! Good luck, have fun!

I’m using a similar technology stack…except Gimp instead of Photoshop and coffee and tea instead of Mountain Dew. :)

I’m In!

I’m in!  This will be my first entry in LD, and I’ll be participating in the Jam this time around.

For this round I will be using:

  • Unity 5 with code written in C#
  • Photoshop CC for any and all artwork
  • BFXR
  • And coffee…lots of coffee!

Good luck everyone!

Gimp, photoshop, paint.net, pixlr or anything like that

it really depends on what your skill level is, whether you have a tablet or not, pixel or not pixel, animations? etc.

there’s also a free tool called krita.

I like gimp and inkscape, both open source 😉

I’ve done a couple of MiniLD’s, but this will be my first full Ludum Dare also.

And again!

Hello everyone!

I’m 16 year old guy from Russia, with almost 2 years of C/C++ and 1.5 years of OpenGL experience.

I just want to say that I’m going to participate again, for the third time.

And I want to say that I’m happy with my results! 😛

advancement

Not too much, but I’m proud of them, it feels good to see the improvement.

Also, to continue the tradition of “I’m in!” posts, here is a list of programs that i’m going to use, in nontraditional form of a screenshot:

workplace

Funny enough, my coding font becomes smaller and smaller – notice the difference. I make these fonts myself, and if this tendency persists, my code will pico_ 😀

The game will be written in C++, with SDL, OpenGL, OpenAL and GLEW, with my own game engine.
For previous two times I used same simple engine. It used OpenGL 4.3, but had no single fancy 4.3 feature. And people complained about too high GL version.

For this time I’ve prepared a new one, which is based on OpenGL 3.3 for portablity and uses OpenAL for fancy physically-correct PEW-PEWs, instead of crappy SDL_mixer which I used before.

Also, it’s easier to use custom shaders on it, so graphics should be a lot better this time.

I wanted to make this post when the engine is finished, but sound system is not ready yet and I’m running out of time. I hope I’ll have enough time to finish it.
But I decided to make this post now.

Regardless of the engine status, a code of what I will use will be here before the start.

Good luck to all who is bold enough to participate!

P.S. If someone with pixel-perfect sight wants to use this font, here it is: .fon .png Encoding is Windows-1251, with cyrillic support.

Im in for my 5th time

Tempted by the Slaughter

I’m still learning how to make games & game art but am tempted to submit an entry for the weekend warmup!  Last year my partner & I collaborated on an entry for #indiesvspewdiepie – that’s so far the only Game Jam I’ve participated in 😀

It’s so insipring to see the community of supportive gamers/artists on Ludum Dare & elsewhere in the world.  Looking forward to connecting locally and globally, with similarly inspired devs & artists.

I’m in

My first Ludum Dare! (for some reasons I hope that I’ll be able to participate all along, but still).

Programming tools : C++ (Visual Studio), with my personal engine (the Loving Cube Engine) and its source code (last experimental version)

Art tools : Photoshop / Blender / Audacity

I’m in post #6

So here we are again, it’s always such a pleasure. Another gamedev weekend is approaching fast so it’s time for another obligatory “I’m in” post. Not much has changed in my toolbox since last LD so lets list it shortly.

Toolbox
Editor: Sublime Text
Language: Haxe
Framework: OpenFL (may with openfl-bitfive)
Graphics: Gimp, Inkscape
Sound editing: bxfr, LMMS, MilkyTracker, Caustic
Planing: notebook and a pencil

Goal
This time, I’m going for a complete experience. I don’t want to make the same mistakes I made in my previous attempts and create a somewhat playable prototype but rather a game that feels good to the player.
I’m probably stick to 2D top down or even a flat puzzle game this time to avoid coding broken platformer physics yet another time.

Good luck and lots of fun to all participants.

PS: No bonus themes yet?
PS2: Technically, it is my “I’m in” post #5. I didn’t wrote one the first time as I started in the middle of the weekend back then. 😉

Enter the Robber

AaaaaahYeah looking forward to the competition! Definitelymaybe In!

hope i can take the mondayz off…otherwise i will try to make something small which will no doubt get out of hand. Havent finished my music sequencer yet so no code to declare as of now, depending on theme/idea/stress levels i’ll be using either Unity 5 or C++ with SDL2

Have fun!

Having participated in the most recent Mini Ludum Dare with my game Pongy in the Middle (more-or-less a Pong clone, but where you control the ball instead of a paddle) and now the Warmup Weekend with my game Tnahpele (more-or-less a Simon clone, but where you input the given sequence in the reverse order), which happened to be the first entry submitted (though I’m not sure whether that says more about the speed at which I work or simply my low quality standards), I’m geared up and ready for the big Ludum Dare.

I’ve been looking forward to this for a while now as I never managed to participate in previous Ludume Dares (can you pluralise like that?) for one reason or another. I’d quite like to use the opportunity to give the recently released visual novel creation software TyranoBuilder some use, though I’m not going to limit my options until the theme is announced so it’s quite possible I’ll be making another <canvas> game instead, though hopefully not another “more-or-less clone”.

I’m in!

Using Unity, C#, BFXR, and Photoshop, depending on the theme I might use gamemaker.

GL all, hope to have something cool for you all to play by the end!

Hiya everyone. Updated the framework I’ve been using for all my LD entries.

If you are looking forward to try some javascript this LD but engines are too much and starting from scratch sounds like a pain – I give you this essential framework providing out of box mouse, keyboard, 2d api and some clean architecture.

I’m an artist looking to get into game making. My programming skills are rather limited (though I still try daily to program SOMETHING). I was going to enter the LD alone for the first time but would love to join a team.
