Looks like BARIO is angry, maybe kidnapping princess CHEAP was not the best idea after all!

LD50 has ended, and it was great! Congrats to everyone!!
There's a few bug here and there, and the difficulty curve isn't quite there, but hey, come and try by yourself :D

It is here! what is it? nobody knows. Welcome to the world of Blizzard (Lawsuit pending) immerse yourself in a lack of innovation and foresight like no other! Prepare to ask yourself questions like, "What is this!?", "You had 72 hours!", and "where am I!?" Experience the immense disappointment that only this game provides! Sit in awe as every expectation you've had for this game is unceremoniously struck down, and feel the all-encompassing rage of wasting 2 minutes on cherry-pushing suffering!

You maybe, "It's obviously not this link just look away!",asking where can I find this waste of hooman potential? Well, you're in luck somewhere hidden inside this very blog post is the link. All you have to do is find it!
spooky background music wooooo!!

I decided it was about time I actually join Ludum Dare, so I got a few of my mates together (half have never made a game or anything game dev related). This is what we made!

“Human Resource” is a management game where the player undertakes the role as a corporate lackey in a dysfunctional and chaotic office space, run by a strict CEO who will inevitably fire you. Your job is to make sure that doesn’t happen for as long as possible by keeping the office running and avoid crossing paths with the boss to keep that tolerance meter down.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/human-resource

Want to try a web tank game? I won't spoil the special game mechanic here.
I'm also playing other people games so drop a message if you want me to try yours.

Hi everybody !! We're so glad we finaly did it ! What a massive amount of work <3
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-endless-night
Feel free to come, comment and play to our lil creation  Can't wait to test and play to all of this year's games !
Come check out our game! It was a beast to put together but super super fun! Like everyone we had really high ambitions and fell short quite a bit, but we put something together that is playable and, imo, pretty fun! It needs a little bit of tuning on damages and things like that still, but it's certainly fun to see how long you can delay the inevitability of the hero winning!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-hero-always-wins!
Ever been in a traffic jam, and secretly wished you could just blow up all the cars in front of you? Well, here's your chance. In Sunday traffic we don't just rely on traffic lights to keep the lanes moving. But how long can you delay the inevitable?

So, I just woke up from a much needed sleep after hitting the sack as soon as our JAM game was published. Time to rate and play some other people's entries!!
If you want to check out our game, you can find it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-last-days-of-ripley-9000

Overall, it was just madness from start to finish this time around. I only had time to do one blog post during the jam and the rest of the time I was just writing code and hitting up StackOverflow at near DDoS levels. But, I have to say, I'm really happy with how our game turned out!
Its early! Who all is awake?? LOL

See you then!
Hello and welcome dear reader.
They say that an image is worth a thousand words, so a gif must be worth a million:

Although the above gif would probably only invoke 3 words: "What the heck?"
Come and give it a try here!
This is my 8th(?) Ludum Dare if I'm not mistaken, and every time it seems like I have some crazy idea that's probably around 1000 times bigger than I should attempt for a game jam, but I do it anyway. I always learn a lot and this time around was no different. The main "new thing" I was experimenting with was a "vector flow field" for pathfinding with many moving objects on the screen since the map doesn't change.
If you'd like to check out my entry for the Jam, here it is: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/morpheus-of-mars
Advanced Warning: Since it's clamped to 1920x1080, itch didn't seem to like making it fit inside a browser window, at least for me. Maybe if you run in 4k it will look okay. Otherwise, try the Windows download and give that a try.
Thanks again, and I look forward to playing all of your entries over the next several days, once I've had some sleep (been bugfixing my initial upload for around 4 hours now, I should have probably slept haha)

First game of our senior C++ programmer. He is worrying :)

...of getting my first actually good game idea for the theme, but only now, after having completed the Jam. Well, I guess that was also inevitable...
Well... it´s not been the very last minute this time, but the last hour^^

I know what I will be doing today! Testing all of you beautiful peoples amazing LD50 contributions!
If you have a web-build, send me a shout and I'll take a look at it!
Have you tried our game yet?

I tried to add the WebGL build link after the submission hour and the Jam category is grey! I tried to click on the extra button and it turned my game in to an Extra entry and now I can't be rated. Is there any way I can change it back?
I released the Windows build on time. Game content is not altered. The web build is just a port. I was just trying to add a link. All the above can be verified on the back end.

With this ominous piece of art by @helicule, I invite you to try our humble game Fur Steam Ahead! Due to work commitments I had zero time to try your games yet, but I already have a backlog. I hope you enjoy our little game, even with the sound effects missing (Wwise sucks!)
I was aiming for the compo 8h before the deadline I realised it's impossible to really get the game in a state I wanted to show off so I went to bed instead and opted to use the extra day and submit to the jam instead.
Second time in a row that has happened, but for different reasons this time.
I'm really happy with the version I submitted, I think it's best game yet.

There were a couple of things I couldn't get in, some which are rather simple and would've made the game feel even better. For example getting hit sounds on enemies and the character itself, some background music, spending a bit more time to tile the final levels.
It was also the first time I took a stab at bigger pixel art, like the boss here. Overall I think it went okay but the run animation is horrible :)

Would love to hear some feedback!
No more zip archives and exe files!

What happen when non-gamer & non-programmer try to build the game...
That was our first participation to the LDJam, and because of me (the coder) we didn't finished on time. The game purpose was to patch boat leak with woods that we get by breaking boxes and other breakable objects in the map, we could upgrade our hammer to break objects and patch water leak faster.
Here a short video of what we did : https://youtu.be/YtpFAD8G3YU

seriously in the last hours i encountered a gamebreaking bug that just didnt make sense. Turns out i somehow wrote the same function twice...
After nearly 20+ hours of our work together, Me and my pal @AdrianNowak97, have finished our game for the jam. We are very happy that we were able to create our idea without any compromises. Try it now, and tell us what do you think <3

Hi all, I'm new to all this and here !
Last night I didn't know how to upload my game for the jam so I just made a post with screenshots and a link to my itch.io. Does it mean I didn't enter because I didn't "create" a game with the jam option ? I saw I could do that ONLY NOW (I think because I was in a team before it didn't let me, and I clicked on "leave" to post my own thing since with my team we do the Extra instead / finish together out of any jam (we all agreed for our project), but it still wasn't showing me I could create a game yesterday).
Here's the link to my (terribly bad) game : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/$278182/monster-chase (itch.io on the post). I also had no choice to do a .rar file rather than .zip because I don't have that (I will get it for the next times). >^<"
Anyways it's pretty bad and I only had 7 hours to do this by myself but if you have any advices for newbies with Unity & C# don't hesitate to let me know in a comment !! ^-^
Thank you & I hope I'm still counted as being in the 72h jam because it's all I did for 3 days and it was my first ahaha.
Y'all did great games I'll be playing today ! ♡

Follow my game development channel where I will be live streaming and giving feedback on your games this afternoon, 4:00pm Eastern (New York Time). I will only play games where developers are present because it will be very busy; first come, first serve!

Thank you for noticing this special notice.

I finished my game right on time! I only had 3 minutes left at the end. i am writing this post only now because it became very late yesterday due to the different time zone! i wanted to make a game which incorporates humor and horror at once. But it ended up rather as a silly little game with cute and serious moments. i worked with bitsy, because this is my first game ever! In "transaction failed" you have to escape a convenience store. during this adventure the protagonist "yellow" is confronted with its past, present and future <3

Hi fellow jamers. I participated in Compo, and after getting some feedback I decided to polish my game a bit more. Today I added a bunch of new features and improvments. Is it ok to add additional link to my post-jam version or should I wait until "play+rate" period ends? I would like to share it as soon as possible and get feedback, but I also don't want to confuse anyone which version should be rated. What do you think guys?
BTW. If you haven't tried Global Eggstermination yet I encourge you to give it a try :)
Hey guys, check out our hyper-casual game! All feedbacks are welcome!

ileftbehind.me is not a game, it's a deeply personal experience.

if you're looking for something action packed this is not for you.
i just wanted to leave a piece of myself somewhere in the web.
And we're happy to present our game!

It's called Emergency Escape and it's about surviving from a Space station whose systems are failing slowly. There are escape pods that need to be loaded with supplies before launching.
You have a crew of 5 members to give them orders, but the more you save the less stay to prepare the next pod and repair the reactor before it blows.
The end looks inevitable, will you be able to delay it?
Come and have a try! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/emergency-escape
As for tradition, i will play and rate your games live on twitch!

After stress-coding for 2 and a half days, and then spending the remaining 8 hours slowly making a UI, the game is finally done.
Someone got so angry at tube delays he decided to blow it up. Help save innocent passengers by, you guessed it, delaying the tube. Link to game: All lines lead to boom

After finishing my game submission at 2:45(AM) this morning, I've in given to sleep, so here I am 10 hours later, posting this.
Boy what a ride.
Who would've thought making a working tube system (and planning the most efficient route) was this technically demanding... (everyone, the answer is everyone)
And who would've thought an efficient tube system doesn't allow for a very long journey between two stations (i had to patch in a second journey 10 hours before the deadline because the system worked too well)
Sadly after doing all that there was no time for any sound, but at least i have a working "menu" and instructions?
I guess i have to work on estimating the scope better if I want to submit for the compo next time..
Anyway, here's my impression of how the game works internally
https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLV9tc68X9s4MTFJok61o9bItII7QwX-P
Had an absolute blast playing compo entries yesterday, and I can't wait to see what everyone's made for the jam today! Drop a comment if you'd like me to look at your game, and you can check out my compo game MAGICAL JUGGLER EXTRAORDINAIRE here

If you made a strategy or puzzle game for this LD, post a link to it below, I would love to try it out!
PS: I don't have Windows, so a web version or something that runs on Wine would be appreciated
Was a bit of a tough jam having been hit by Covid right before it kicked off, but recovered enough to get something done (with some help of course!)
Have had a bit of a play this morning and some real stand out ones to me are
This one's got a wall jump mechanic that's really satisfying to get the hang of!
Excellent sense of humour and some great mechanics with some good bits of polish
A solid puzzle game that does a really good job of keeping the creeping inevitability of the flood waters rising at the forefront of your mind.
A really clever puzzle game that I'm still too tired to play properly - but it's a really cool interpretation of the theme!
And of course there's my own game -
I feel weird about praising my own game too much, but I'm pretty happy with it - run away from some missiles chasing you round a maze like factory as long as you can.
My boss was excited to play my game submission after I told him I participated in Ludum dare. He seemed to really like it and got my other coworker to play.
