LD27

I’m in for Ludum Dare 27.

I’m going to be in my first ludum dare! Never done one before, so here we go!

I also may use Photon Cloud Unity Networking, but I’ll post if i decide to.

Engine: Unity3d free.

Language: C#

Graphics: Paint.NET

Sounds: Audacity

Music: No clue.

Base Mechanics

Totally have the base mechanics(Most anyway), For my game. It still does not have a name but, the premise is you must run from a bolder and try to get to the end of the level without being squashed or having the time run out. each level increases in difficulty as you progress. I’m thinking of adding a collection system, and having high scores(Not over the internet because i don’t have a clue where i could do that). But like you could brag to your friends about your score.

Very Early Screenshot!

Thanks, will do!

Update #1

Welp, I’ve gotten a lot done on the game yet I don’t know what else to add, I’m thinking “Well the game looks done” but at the same time I’m looking at it like “There’s still more to be done”,  So I’m asking if any of you could tell me what needs work, what’s fine and should be left alone, and if it’s okay for publishing(most likely not).

The game itself is nice and responsive, good work!

I would look at these in order of priority:

1. Animate the main character.

2. An audio source with a looping rumble sound on the boulder would be nice so the player can hear when its getting closer.

3. Clean up the menus, look into using GUISkin to customize the look so it’s not so default Unity. You can get free fonts at places like dafont.com. Make some new bitmaps for the buttons.

4. Music!

5. Menu sounds.

6. Credits screen.

Bolder Running

The game about running from bolders and trying to get to a finish before time runs out is done.

:Link to the ludem dare page:

The game includes:

Bolders

Shoddy Player Animation

Doogle Coins

and 5 Levels.

The controls are really simple

A and D: Move left and right

p.s. I’ed recommend playing the web version.

Boulder Runner

So far people are liking my game, quite surprised seeing as how its simple af but you know.

if you want to check it out entry link here.

Quick late question.

Hello, I was wondering if since i forgot a button to go back out of the about page on my game count as a typo error?

I’m in

<START>

This will be my second Ludum Dare I will enter, It shall be fun!

I shall be using

Lang and Libs: Java, LWJGL, and Slick-Util

Image Editor: Photoshop

Audio Editor:  Audacity

Beverages: Dr. Pepper, and Ice Water.

I’m hoping to finish my second game for LD, so let’s do this.

<END>

No idea, things have been drawn.

In the time I have been game making (including procrastination) I’ve managed to get a window and quad up and running, so far I’m having a lot of fun. Only thing is I don’t have an idea selected, I will go to sleep so then I can think of more ideas that I can pick. And I will end this by saying, good luck to all of you.

LD29

I’m in.

I’m totally in for this Ludum Dare. It’s going to be good. Here is what I am using.

Tools

  • Language: C++
  • Libraries: Explodable Engine (my personal engine in which you can get here)
  • Art: Paint.NET
  • Audio: Audacity and sfxr

I’m hoping to finish something for this Ludum Dare, as well as seeing what other people come up with!

Things are drawing and stuff.

I got things drawing to the screen. Granted I am using my engine (which you can get here), but I am fairly amazed with how quickly I got this working. Also, here is screenshot

Okay, but I don’t think that you are going to like me…

LD30

I finished something!

I finished just in time for the Jam! It’s a game called Oppugno, and you can play it here.

LD33

I literally just set up a project file.

A late start is still a start! Going to be using C++ with the libraries GLFW3GLEW, GLM, and SOIL. Should be pretty fun if I do say so myself, also, I made a git repo for the game on github, there’s not much there yet, but I’ll leave the link here for people who are interested.

LD35

Just really started.

So, I finally got around to starting last night, I won’t finish in time for the compo of course, but I might try for the jam tomorrow. This is so far the coolest thing I have, it will make sense soon.

Making Progress

Here's what I have so far, after working last night and a good bit of today. Graphics are a bit wonky, but I think the concept is cool.
