Ready for my Second!
This will be the second time I'm joining. I hope that I will be able to make and finish something cool. Excited for the theme!

A simple prototype for a clicker game. The characters will get tired so you have to click their energy bar to energize them!

Finally finished the game loop. Now, to start doing some art!

Almost done! To do: -art and animation for the protesters -sounds (and music, if have time) -testing and debugging.

This was an amazing Ludum Dare for me! Although this game is in no way complete, I am very pleased with what I have accomplished. I am going to finish this game since I enjoyed making it (and playing it!). I hope you enjoy this game too!
I am proud to say that I made this game by myself. Next Ludum Dare, I would like to try to collaborate with other talented game developers!
Game Engine: Unity Game Art: Photoshop Background Music: MuseScore Sound effects: sfxr
Click, click, and click some more to protest, gain influence, and change the world! But don’t let your protesters get tired in this one of a kind clicker game!

Wow! This is my second Ludum Dare and I was shocked to see my game ranked 44th at humor. Many, many, many thanks to all the people who played my game and gave helpful comments!
Now I'm more excited for the next Ludum Dare!

Been a Unity user for 3 years but I'm learning Godot right now and I will use it this coming Ludum Dare. Hope that I will be able to finish whatever game I'll be making!
Whooh! This theme is tough! Never thought that I'd spend nine hours staring at my blank notebook. But finally, a concrete game idea. It's not that original but it's what I have right now and time is a wasting!

Woah! These themes are tough. Kinda reminds me of the theme last LD. I really had a hard time coming up with an idea and sadly, I wasn't able to submit a game :(
Hopefully, the theme this time will be great!

Oh no! What's the theme gonna be? Oh no! What's the theme gonna be? Oh no! What's the theme gonna be? Oh no! What's the theme gonna be? Oh no! What's the theme gonna be? Oh no! We are making a turn-based role playing game rhythm game. It's Final Fantasy meets Guitar Hero!
So far so good!

Submitted with 2 minutes on the clock! Whoooh! This was fun but was also rough towards the end since we were only able to make this game in the last 2 days of the jam. Hopefully, you like it and have fun with it.
This game is just a small slice of the game. Expect lots of bugs (or feature depending on your perspective) and the timing of the notes is way, way off.
**WARNING: The vocals in the game's song has been reported to cause ear bleeding, and temporary confusion and rage. :D

In for LD42! This time I'll use Phaser a game. I haven't used Phaser for 2 years so it's a good time to go back. Hope I'll be able to finish a decent game.
That was tiring! This is the first time I was able to go through all the themes. Hopefully, we will have a great theme this time (fingers crossed)!
But whatever the theme is, don't forget one thing:
HAVE FUN!

Started LD with LD36.
LD36: Ancient Technology Planned to make a 3D, platforming, puzzle, action game. Totally didn't finish.
LD37: One Room LD38: Small World -was not able to participate due to work. But how come these still come up in theme suggestions? Small room, Tiny world? What's next? Microscopic world? Quantum world (Hey, that seems interesting!)
LD39: Running Out of Power Didn't like it but was able to make a fun game (ranked 44th in HUMOR, WOW!)
LD40: The more you have, the worse it is This was pretty hard cause I find it so limiting. Also, first time I collaborated with someone. Unfortunately, the guy just... disappeared... in the middle of the jam. So another unfinished game.
LD41: Combine two incompatible genres Not my first pick but had several ideas about this one. This is the first time I held a local jam in our school and there were 13 participants in 3 groups. We were able to make 3 games. They were not really great but we really had a fun time! Planning to do another one!
LD42:??? Please, please, please, don't let it be "It's not a bug, it's a feature."
I wonder which should I use?
This...

or this...

Just having some fun before LD42 starts!
Finally made something!
LD started here in Manila at 6AM. It's rainy and cold so after finding out what the theme is (what? it's not you are the final boss? hahaha! just kidding!). I started brainstorming right away but came with nothing. Since it's still early, I decided to go back to sleep.
When I woke up, everything was still the same. I have a page on my notebook with some notes, keywords, and some doodles. Here are some of the words I wrote:
RUNNING OUT OF SPACE Shrinking Level / Floor Running (Endless Runner?) Space is a weapon Suitcase Running out of space in hell? Falling roof Refrigerator Blocks / Tetris Checkmate / Stalemate
The last one caught my attention. I imagined a chessboard where the king has no where to go (no more space to move into). That seemed interesting. So I decided to make a board or tile-based game where the objective is to checkmate or stalemate the enemy.
So after 5 hours or so of coding, debugging, and testing, here's what I came up with:

Whoooo! This is my 4th LD and though I didn't like the theme that much, I really had a blast with it.

Hi guys! Comment down the link to your games and I'll play and vote on it. Unfortunately, I can't download games right now so only WEB LINKS please!
Also, here's the link to my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/dark-lord-ludum-dare
Not a fan of the theme so I used some of the discarded and old themes, since there were a lot of brouhaha around the voting and theme slaughter.
Here are some of the themes I used in my game DARK LORD LUDUM DARE. Can you find the others?
