Before I get to the list, I would like to elaborate on why I put a list out each day. I have gotten several comments now about how rating __ many games will get you enough ratings yourself. First, the way the system is designed, rating games only makes your game more visible; it is not a definite thing that you will get enough ratings. Second, I do not make these lists to give these games an unfair advantage. If anything, many of the games I have listed from the "zero" page show that this isn't the case in that that they are still on that page by not having rated any games themselves. It is a two-fold process. I post these lists because humans are hardwired to go after what they think is best, and unfortunately, this usually creates a feedback loop by means of the "appeal to majority" fallacy. It is my hope that these lists might counteract that by showing less popular games off. If you think that this gives an unfair advantage, then by all means create your own list. No one is stopping you. Now, on to the list.

I can't make you, but it would be great to have as many games as possible get scored.

I am not going to post any games today, but feel free to post yours in the comments if it still needs ratings. Instead I will go through some things that will help you get ratings in future LDs.

1. Make sure to link your game when you turn it in. I saw so many submissions that had either removed the link after they felt it wasn't good enough or never linked the game in the first place. This should be a no-brainer. If there is no link, then no one can play your game, i.e. you will not get ratings. Also, never remove your link all together. This is a game jam; games are not expected to be high-quality.

2. Provide as many pics and vids of your game as you can. If all you have is a title and a description, very few people will want to play it.

3. Make it playable online. This is not necessary, but it will incentivise people to play in that they won't have to download anything.

4. Avoid unusual platforms. It is a great challenge to make a game for another platform other than computer, but this creates a high barrier of entry for anyone to play the game, and most people are unwilling to go through the necessary steps just to be able to play a game jam game. Platforms you should avoid include VC consoles, anything that will require an emulator (e.g. NES), Android and IOS, and Linux (I am including this because it isn't as mainstream as Windows and Mac). In other words, make your game as accessible as possible.

5. Rate as many games as you can. Rating more games makes your game more visible in the system.

6. Advertise (i.e. post your game in the posts and comments of games that you have rated). I know this feels awful; I hate to do it too. But, it really does help your game get noticed. Just don't be "false" when doing it. I saw comments on games with no links that had fake reviews of just, "awesome game! Here, try mine at ". This just makes you look like an ass. If you are going to post a link to your game in the comments of another game or post, make sure that it is either invited or that you have legitimately played and rated the the other game and provided good feedback as well.

Thanks for making this such an enjoyable LD. I would be lying if I said that posting a list of games every day didn't get tedious. I just hope that through doing it, I was able to get more games noticed.

These have probably been suggested a thousand times, but oh well:

• as silly as possible

• an educational game that doesn't suck

• demake a classic

We'll see if I can get a friend to help, otherwise I'm doing the compo.

Took a while, but I finally have an idea that I'm happy with, though I have no idea how I will be able to get it done in time, unless I can get help with coding (hopefully a friend will help tomorrow).

Is there anyone else who really wanted the unconventional mode of transportation theme rather than this one besides myself?

I hate to say it, but circumstances have arisen that force me to not be able to participate (though, I probably wouldn't have finished anyway). If anyone still wants an idea, here is mine, feel free to use it:

my idea is you play as a pilgrim with a blunderbuss trying to survive the onslaught of mutant turkeys by finding projectiles. Being a blunderbuss, you can have as many projectiles as you can find, but you use them all in one shot (more projectiles = more damage). So you only ever have one shot at a time, of course starting with nothing. Turkeys have a chance of either dropping a projectile (20%) , health (30%), or nothing (50%) when they die.

Hopefully this time there isn't an emergency that keeps me from doing it.
