Ever have your TV remote batteries go dead at the worst possible time? Us too!

Now imagine if you were ruling a world from the heavens, and your WORLD REMOTE went dead! Who's going to hit that bear with lightning or stop that tornado or put out those fires or make it rain so that ocean doesn't dry up?

This game puts the player in a passive role of only being able to control the climate (and smite stuff with lighting or revive dead people or cause immaculate conception but that's every-day stuff). For the most part you watch your people grow and prosper and you help out where you can.

Sound easy?

The contest has ended - Ludum Dare 40 was a fun one and it was our best attempt so far. We're all quite happy with our scores.

We kept our game idea simple and self explanatory, which has been our challenge in the past. Our goal was to perform better than last time and we have achieved that. We'll see everyone for LD41 in a few months!

Beyond THAT - We also have a little contest of our own so if the following winners would please comment on this post with the best way to contact them, we'll get the prizes doled out:

@voxel, @manbeardgames, @johnsarna - you three took the scoreboard's top 3 positions! When we uploaded this game I expected the high score to be in the neighborhood of 15,000 or so, and my personal best is around 33,000. You guys put me to shame at my own game.

I have to say, I was not a fan of this theme. I felt that forcing devs to combine two incompatible genres meant that to do it right you had to end up with a game that shouldn't be any good, and somehow you had to shoe-horn the 'good' into it.

We gave it our best shot, and made our goal to hit mood, audio, and theme as hard as we could to see where we'd land (Don't get me wrong, we tried as hard as we could to make it fun!) . I have to say, we did well in the categories we focused the hardest on and we're extremely happy with the results!

Just because you don't agree with a theme in LD, you can still use it as a learning experience and try to hone other skills by participating - make the best of it!

To those of you who did manage to hit high fun and overall ratings, great work! It was a challenge, and this was by far the most challenging LD I've done to date.
